It contains the tombs of the late Moroccan King Mohammed V and his two sons: King Hassan II and Prince Abdullah🕌🛐 The Royal Tomb is a pink and white marble building with a square tower of a mosque that combines Romanesque and Byzantine architectural styles. Outside is a magnificent white marble pavilion covered with green tiles. The outer wall is engraved with verses from the Koran🙏🏻 Entering the royal mausoleum and looking down from the main hall, you will see the marble coffin of former King Mohammed V. Looking up, the patterns on the ceiling and the sculptures on the plaster and wood are extremely delicate. Due to the Lisbon earthquake in 1755, the mosque, the grand wall and the mosque's stone pillars were destroyed. The minaret has changed from the original 85 meters to the current 45 meters. However, from the remaining 312 stone pillars and the broken walls, one can still imagine the style of a thousand years ago.

On both sides of the tomb chamber in the grand palace are the tombs of Hassan II and his brother Prince Abdullah. There are guards on duty. Near the tomb of Mohammed V, there is the ancient site of the Hassan Mosque, built in the 12th century, with over 300 large stone columns, the Hassan Tower, and ancient walls, which evoke the glory and splendor of the largest mosque in North Africa at the time. Rabat is the capital, with trams and taxis for convenience. A simple way is to show the driver photos of the attractions on your phone and agree on a price. Even if boiled, tap water in Morocco is not suitable for drinking, so bottled water is needed, with larger bottles being cheaper. Local infants also use bottled water. The main street in Rabat is called Mohammed V Avenue, with tall tropical plants providing shade, office buildings, and beautiful old post offices and communication buildings. The citizens dress fashionably and have an urban style. The train station (Figure 8) is very modern, with trams shuttling along the streets and cafes on the side of the road. The old city can be reached on foot from the city center, and at the end of the walk, you can see the sea and the lighthouse. In the old city, you can see ancient Arab architecture and mosques, and residents still maintain a strong medieval way of life. In 2012, Rabat was selected as a World Heritage Site, including the old city and the new city designed and built during the French protectorate from 1912 to 1930. The mausoleum of Mohammed V in Rabat was built in the mid-20th century, with a majestic and elegant architectural style. The ruins of Chellah are the remains of the royal tombs of the Marinid dynasty in Morocco, where the outer walls, mosques, and minarets built during the Merinid dynasty can still be faintly seen. There are good hotels and restaurants in the center of Rabat, and many places are marked in English. We took the train from Marrakech to Rabat and should get off at GARE RABAT VILLE. As we approached, we saw the words RABAT AGDAL on the platform and hurriedly got off. After asking, we found out that it was not far from the Rabat city center train station GARE RABAT VILLE. We took a taxi to the hotel without any trouble. Two days in Rabat is enough, walking for sightseeing within the city and taking a taxi for longer distances is very convenient.
