I was invited to a press tour of Courtyard by Marriott Fukui, which just opened next to Fukui Station in March this year, and took my long-awaited first trip to the Hokuriku region. Courtyard by Marriott Fukui is a 3-minute walk from Fukui Station, making it a great location for sightseeing in Fukui. It is also located in the tallest building in Fukui, at 28 stories, which is the tallest in the city, where there are many low buildings, so you can enjoy a spectacular view. The afternoon tea served in an Echizen lacquerware box, which just started service on June 7th, has a good balance of savory and sweet dishes, and the quality of each dish is high. It was not too heavy for me, who has recently been unable to finish an afternoon tea, and I was very satisfied. (The Lounge & Bar on the 16th floor is limited to 30 meals a day, and you can enjoy it for 5,800 yen per meal.) The Lounge & Bar can also be used as a bar, so sunset time is recommended.
