I was staying in Cebu City on the east side of Cebu Island, but since Moalboal is located on the west side, I booked a tour that included transportation and snorkeling. We left at 2am, which was quite exhausting, but we were guided by veteran tour guides, so we were able to enjoy snorkeling at a leisurely pace on time! I stayed in Moalboal on Cebu Island. Moalboal is famous for being able to swim with schools of sardines and sea turtles, and since there are many travelers staying in Moalboal, there are plenty of hotels, restaurants, and dive shops. It's a laid-back, peaceful town, so I enjoyed snorkeling every day during my stay and had drinks in restaurants at night, relaxing. I'd reccomend renting a guide to help as they cost around 60rmb in equivalent pesos. The guide will speed up finding the sardine storms, help take awesome photos of you diving through them and they are carry a small raft in case you fancy a rest or the water gets a little choppy.

The sea was so beautiful that there were so many small fish just by putting your face in the water, it was amazing. 📍Location: Moalboal 🏖️Atmosphere/Facilities: Free snorkel rental, free changing rooms, free showers It's better to bring marine shoes. There are a lot of rocks near the land, so if you're barefoot or wearing sandals, you might slip and hurt yourself. There's also a souvenir shop. If you bring a GoPro or something, you can give a small tip and the locals will dive deep into the water and take beautiful videos for you.

I don't think I'll ever forget the turtles and mackerels I saw at Moalboal. I'm going to go again because I got aura.

🐢🐟🐠🐋 If you love snorkelling and exploring marine flora and fauna, you will love Moalboal in the Philippines. This small town is home to the famous sardine run, where you can swim with millions of sardines year round! 🦈🐡🐟🐳 Snorkelling with sardines and turtles in Moalboal was amongst my favourite activities. The sardine run is located just off the coast of Moalboal, on the west coast of Cebu Island in the Philippines. 🇵🇭It’s pretty easy to find alone. Generally speaking, if you look at other groups of snorkelers and swim in their direction, it’s pretty likely that they’re gathered either around sardines or turtles. 👀The best part of this awesome adventure is that it can be done completely for free! 🆓 The sardines are just off the shore of the Moalboal coast, you can easily swim up to them from the beach without a guide. 👣👣We just walked down to the beach, rented our snorkel gear, left our stuff on the beach with our friends and jumped in the water. 🏊🏊We hadn’t even been swimming for 5 minutes when we spotted our first turtle! 🐢The turtles are pretty chill and in no rush to go anywhere, just remember not to touch them or bother them.🐢🛑✋ Swimming up close to turtles and thousands of sardines was without a doubt a unique experience. The highlight of this Cebu trip is to see whale sharks🐋 It's to get a diving A-boy license with your friends 🧜‍♀️ The whole trip was planned roughly four months ago Compare prices online and read other people's reviews Finally decided to learn our A boy at the [Amigos Dive Center] location ink treasure seaside dive shop 😀 Let's talk about the price first, 16,000 PHP, roughly 2,000 cheaper than the nearby dive shops (roughly 100 less than 200 HKD). Being a foreign coach, communication is basically in simple English😆 However, the whole process is not reckless, the process is trying to arrange our trip to different dive sites, in addition to teaching, we also take care of our travelers' itinerary🤩 The process was relaxed, everyone was talking and laughing, and the staff of the whole dive shop were very nice. We spent half a day visiting Pescador island and Panagsama beach. We snorkelled, swam with the sardines and sea turtles. It’s a must take trip if you’re around Cebu or Moalboal.
