Nanyuan Forest Wetland Park is another heavyweight urban ecological space opened to tourists in the south of Beijing in recent years. Some are like forests, some are like secret water ponds, and some require climbing up and down hills, just like entering a mountain forest... I rode my car, stopped by the river to watch the diving, and stopped at my favorite small forest. I also watched people paddleboarding in the river with great interest... It was so comfortable! The only downside to visiting the park this way is that it's expensive. The small animal electric car costs 88 yuan per hour, and I got so excited that I ended up spending more than 300 yuan haha~ But, it's worth it to buy my happiness! I booked the recently popular viewing platform in Nansen Park on my phone in advance. The location is indeed high, and you need to climb a small hill to get there. I chose to go at dusk, when the setting sun was casting its rays on the distant city, and countless people gathered on the viewing platform to watch this grand sight. I sat down on the top floor and watched the moon and the city in silence, as the cool breeze blew, it was the most comfortable autumn atmosphere in Beijing. I will come back to this viewing platform on a clear day in Beijing to look out over the city where I study, live, and work.

Nanyuan Forest Wetland Park is located near the south central axis of Beijing, referred to as "Nansen", which echoes the O'Sen in the north. Although Nansen was built not long ago, it has a profound heritage. It was originally the location of "Autumn Wind in Nanyou", one of the Eight Scenic Spots of Yanjing. Nansen takes green as its basis and builds a green ecological space where forests and water depend on each other, recreating the landscape of "Autumn Wind in the Southern Garden". There are many scenic spots in the park, including Feiyan Terrace, Spring Trail, Qingquan Garden, etc. Among them, the Flying Goose Observation Deck has now become a popular check-in spot in the imperial capital. Its total height reaches 59 meters, and the base and roof are designed in the shape of a goose flapping its wings, symbolizing the vitality and freedom of life. Standing here and looking north, you can have a panoramic view of the beautiful city of the imperial capital. In addition, the Xiaolong River, a branch of the Yongding River, runs through Nansen. Nanyuan Forest Park has been trending recently, not only can you camp and play in the water, but there's also an observation deck, especially the Xiaolong River on the west side of the park, 🌊 which becomes a gathering place for nearby residents to play in the water in the evening, with a primitive and rustic atmosphere that's very down-to-earth, this is the relaxed vibe that Beijing summers should have! 🏊 - 🧭 Location: Nanyuan Wetland Park P2 Parking Lot, Xiaolong River is on one side of the parking lot 🎫 Cost: The park is free, you can camp and play in the water 🔴 Note: The river is over 2 meters deep, do not go into the water alone, play in groups - ⚠️ Play Tips: ❶ Xiaolong River has flowing water, with a lot of aquatic plants at the bottom, it's recommended to play in groups 🌿 ❷ The river is not commercially managed, there are no water play equipment rentals, you need to bring your own 🏄🏻‍♂️ ❸ The water is clear and suitable for swimming, but it gets cooler after sunset. It's really surprising and delightful that Beijing has such a beautiful viewing platform! Looking down from the viewing platform, the green area is really vast, giving an illusion of being in the south. The title of Beijing's top city in terms of greening rate is truly well-deserved. 👍 The viewing platform is located in 🧭 Nanyuan Forest Wetland Park. It's closer if you come from the West Gate 1. You can also rent bicycles and electric vehicles at the West Gate, and there are park electric cars available for 25 yuan per person. Walking is all on flat roads, but you need to climb a slope to reach the viewing platform. There are both electric car roads and stairways (the stairway is a bit closer). The viewing platform has three levels. The first level has an elevator 🛗 that can take you to the second-floor café. The third level is purely outdoor viewing. It's really comfortable to sit and daydream on the viewing platform on a good weather day! When we went, it was cloudy ☁️, so the lighting for photos was not ideal. The photos were filtered, but with good lighting, they would definitely turn out great. If you're afraid of the sun, you can also go in the evening 🌆. The entire park has a lot of shade, making it very suitable for walking and taking kids for outdoor activities. I feel like not many people know about it yet ⚠️tips: 1. Bring a power bank, there will be many photo spots in the park, especially before sunset, you will keep taking pictures. 2. You can go to the forest tree house to read books and enjoy the air conditioning in the afternoon, which is very comfortable. I highly recommend it, and there is a detailed introduction in the previous notes. Go to the observation deck one or two hours before sunset. 3. You can enter from the North Gate 1, go to the forest book house first, and then walk a few hundred meters to the miniature train track and the observation deck. 4. It is said that you need to make a reservation in advance, but I went directly, and no one checked the reservation code when I went up. During the May Day holiday, I heard that the Feiyan Pavilion in the Nanyuan Forest Wetland Park was officially open to the public, and I entered the park with curiosity. As a child, I often played in Nanyuan, where a lot of 'Nanyuan Rice' was planted at that time. I liked to squat by the rice fields watching the tadpoles swimming with their tails in the water, and I enjoyed listening to the frogs croaking in the fields. After starting work, I would ride my bike past here every day, sometimes standing by the Xiaolong River, watching the silhouette of the anglers against the sunset. Watching people in leather pants harvesting lotus roots. More than 40 years have passed, and walking into the Nanyuan Forest Wetland Park, I thought I would find the familiar scenes, but they felt strangely unfamiliar. Although there are still small bridges and flowing water, the trees on both sides of the main road in the park seem to be the same ones planted in the early 1960s, but the small wetland in my mind has long disappeared, replaced by the Nanyuan Forest Wetland Park that is being created to restore the historical appearance of the 'Southern Garden Autumn Breeze'. The planned total area of Nanyuan Forest Wetland Park is 17.5 square kilometers, and it is only beginning to take shape. The park has expanded in size, and after entering, you can rent electric or pedal bicycles, and there are also electric buses, with bicycles available for three-person families and four-person families. The scenic area is divided into east and west parts by Huai Fang Road. To catch a glimpse of Feiyan Pavilion, I chose to tour the eastern scenic area. Enter through West Gate 1 and head straight for Feiyan Pavilion along the main road, where you can take a short rest at the Forest Book House along the way. Once inside the book house, the rich aroma of coffee hits you, and in the middle is a row of bookshelves where visitors can read, enjoy coffee, or gather outside in the tents to enjoy the view. The stream in the park babbles, and the small train station and tracks take my thoughts far away. This is a retired freight train railway line, which now remains filled with memories of several generations. Feiyan Pavilion is located in the southeastern corner of the park. Following the winding road to a total height of 59 meters, the observation deck shaped like a wild goose offers a wide view of forests, lakes, mountains, and high-rise buildings, making one feel exceptionally open and joyful. During the holiday, this is a gathering place for visitors, where people take in the scenery and take photos to remember the moment. The food and beverage counters at the base of the observation deck have names that are highlights of the park's scenery: Yue Xi He, Ping Yuan Hua Fan, Lin Xi Hui Fang, Forest Flower Creek, Autumn Leaves Rustling, etc. Deep in the dense forest, around the lakeside, you can see camping tents of various colors. The grass is lush, and among the green trees, children jump and play, people immerse themselves in the embrace of nature, enjoying the rare leisure time. As the construction of the park progresses, a park that recreates the historical appearance of the 'Southern Garden Autumn Breeze' will soon be fully presented to visitors.

Nanyuan Forest Wetland Park, located at the southern end of the central axis of the capital city, is a great place for walking with kids. Especially in the spring, summer, and autumn seasons, camping and walking with kids become the top choice for many families. Immersed in the forest and wetlands, children can get up close and personal with nature. The fresh air, pervasive fragrance of flowers, chirping insects, and birdsong make for a fresh and interesting environment where kids can freely express themselves. Firstly, this free-to-visit forest wetland park is super large, with smooth roads that can accommodate the space needed for children's activities. It is very suitable for kids who like cycling, playing with scooters, or learning to drive electric cars. It is also suitable for sports activities like flying kites in the park. Secondly, there is a children's activity area in the eastern part of the park called the 'Rabbit Meow Meow Expansion Base,' which features aerial net ropes, wilderness survival expansion, a pet paradise, off-road go-karting, real-life CS, carnivals, archaeological excavations, mini trains, and rainbow slides. Here, children can exercise their courage, enhance their physical coordination, and challenge themselves. Thirdly, there are also some free children's activity places in the park, such as the open-air trampolines that kids love. Free water play by the babbling brook, leisurely walks on the railroad tracks, and more, allow children to enjoy a pleasant outdoor life here.

🏕️Camping There is a camping area, so you don't need to prepare anything yourself. Apart from the location, everyone can camp anywhere. No one is in charge. The grass here is lush and nice for taking pictures. 🅿️Parking During holidays, P1 and P3 look very busy, with long queues. The last picture shows the nearest parking lot. I personally tested it and found that there is space. I recommend roadside parking and then enter the park from South 1 or South 2. The two camping sites are near South 1 and South 2 respectively. The park is quite large, so it is not crowded. The air is very good, and it feels like a big oxygen bar. 🌳Although not as healthy as Orson, he is more gentle than Orson 🌲The vegetation is very dense, and there are fewer people than in Osen. It is still a great place for friends in the south city to take photos and walk.

It will feature eight distinctive scenic areas including Paozi Wetland, Haizi Forest, Huai Xin Forest, Imperial Path Literary Garden, One Mu Ancient Spring, High Platform View, Huai Fang Qing Yuan, and Fei Fang Forest. The aim is to create a green gateway on the southern central axis, shaping an urban park model that intertwines blue and green, harmonizes forests and waters, carries cultural heritage, integrates city and park, and offers a variety of activities. The currently partially opened pilot area covers about 5,000 acres and is the ecological core of the wetland park. Relying on the Xiaolong River and the large Paozi, combined with forest renewal and ecological restoration techniques, the pilot area recreates the natural and cultural landscapes rich in historical charm, such as the Nanyuan Paozi streams, large tree grasslands, and the grandeur of the imperial paths. "The children's playground and the train tracks are both at the southernmost end of the park. It's quite a long walk, so you need to protect yourself from the sun. "It seems there are basketball courts and football fields, but I couldn't find them. The park is too big and there are still workers building it.
