Go see the world's largest reclining Buddha at Nanseon Temple.
Nanzoin Temple is located in Fukuoka, Japan. It takes about 5 hours to fly from Thailand. For those who like to pray for blessings, fortune, and luck, don't miss visiting the large reclining Buddha or bronze reclining Buddha, which can be said to be the largest in the world.
📍Address: 1035 Sasaguri, Kasuya-gun, Fukuoka 811-2405, Japan
📞Tel: +81-92-9477195
🕰️ Opening hours: The temple has no opening or closing times, but the reclining Buddha area is open for visits from 09:00-17:00, with the last admission at 16:30.
🚊How to get there: You can take the JR Line and get off at Kidonanzoin-mae Station. Walk to the left of the station for about 700 meters. Along the way, you will pass the Melody Bridge, which when knocked will play music. (But if you already have a plan to travel in Fukuoka, I recommend buying the Fukuoka Tourist City Pass 1 day Ticket for 1,500 yen, which is more convenient.
🎟️ Admission tickets: You can contact the temple entrance directly. The admission fee is 300 yen per person (children under 18 years old are free).
🏖️ Environment/Facilities: Before the entrance to the temple, there is a souvenir shop. Walk up and you will find the entrance and 2 statues of gods for you to rub your stomach to ask for good luck and fortune. Some parts of the temple do not allow taking pictures or videos. Walk through the tunnel and you will find the way up to pay homage to the reclining Buddha, which you have to walk up another 400 meters, not far and not too steep, to reach the large reclining Buddha. There are amulet shops and coffee and ice cream shops on top.
💞Reason for recommendation: Anyone who comes to visit Fukuoka and does not want to just travel in the city can stop by to pay homage to the reclining Buddha for good fortune. It is suitable for those who like to make merit and love nature because there are many paths to walk and see the view on the mountain. Or anyone who intends to come and ask for blessings, ask for luck, ask for fortune, you can also come here.
📝 Things to know: This temple is similar to our temples, which is quite strict about dressing. Anyone who wears clothes that are not covering up or short will definitely not be allowed to enter the temple!! And some areas do not allow taking videos.
