Padang Kota Lama (Esplanade) Address:
Esplanade Road, Jalan Padang Kota Lama, Georgetown, 10200 George Town, Penang, Malaysia
Itinerary: Hussain Pasembur - Penang Famous Food in Penang, Malaysia
#cityplaybook
4.00 pm - After a day of shopping, we looked for a place to relax in the evening around Penang.
4.30 pm - We arrived at the Padang Kota area. We saw the Hussain Pasembur food premise. This premise sells Pasembur.
In this area is the esplanade area. So, relaxing evening activities are very suitable here while enjoying the sea breeze from the cliff with delicious food from the food premise not far from there.
Pasembur food is a traditional food of the Northern people such as Kedah and Penang. It is a salad served with sweet and spicy peanut sauce.
5.30 pm - We enjoyed it until we finished, took pictures and returned to the hotel.

Night Breeze & Ocean Lights: A Quiet Escape at Penang’s Esplanade Sea Wall
#springitinerary #EsplanadeSeaWall #PenangNights #GeorgeTownByNight #SeasideVibes #CruisePortPenang #NightViewGoals #PeacefulWalks #PenangHeritageTrail #MalaysiaSunsetViews #ChillByTheSea
The place is the Esplanade Sea Wall in George Town, and I went at late evening— it was easily one of the most peaceful and scenic experiences I had in Penang.
As the city lights came on, the whole stretch of the sea wall lit up beautifully, creating a calm and inviting atmosphere. The air was cool with a gentle sea breeze, and the sound of waves gently crashing against the rocks made it feel incredibly soothing. It’s the kind of spot where you can slow down, unwind, and enjoy the present moment.
One highlight that surprised me — there’s a massive cruise ship terminal nearby, and I was lucky enough to see one of the ships docked. With its bright lights glowing across the water, it added such a majestic touch to the night view. It felt surreal — like watching a floating city resting silently in the harbor.
Locals and travelers alike were strolling, chatting quietly, or just sitting on the benches soaking in the night. It’s safe, relaxed, and a great place to enjoy the coastal charm of George Town without the daytime heat.
If you’re already exploring the heritage area, make time to swing by at night — it’s the perfect spot for reflection, photography, or simply enjoying the ocean breeze.
🚗 By Car or Ride-Hailing (e.g., Grab)
• From George Town city center: Head towards Jalan Tun Syed Sheh Barakbah.
• Parking: Limited street parking is available nearby.
• Ride-hailing: Input “Esplanade Sea Wall Heritage Trail” or the address above into your app for direct drop-off.
🚶 On Foot
If you’re exploring George Town’s UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Esplanade is within walking distance from many attractions. Simply head towards Jalan Tun Syed Sheh Barakbah, and you’ll find the sea wall promenade.

In George Town, Penang, the sea is a major part of the city’s identity and charm. Some of the top attractions by the Sea in George Town. First is the esplanade (Padang Kota Lama), which is a scenic waterfront promenade. Great views of the sea, historic cannons, and colonial buildings. It is close to Fort Cornwallis and the Queen Victoria Memorial Clock Tower.

#MarchTravelSupportEvent
It is a place where traces of the British colonial era remain, and it is a great place to take a walk while feeling the sea breeze. There are historical sites such as Fort Cornwallis, and the wide plaza and seaside promenade really stimulate the emotions of travelers.

Stunning Colonial Charm and Gorgeous Waterfront Views!
Penang City Hall is a must-see when you’re in George Town! The building is absolutely stunning with its colonial architecture – a beautiful reminder of Penang’s rich history. The white facade gleams in the sunlight, and it’s just such a picturesque spot to start your day of exploration.
Right nearby, I was lucky to catch a view of a passenger cruise ship docked at Swettenham Pier Cruise Terminal! It added such a lively vibe to the area, and the contrast of the modern cruise liner with the old-world charm of City Hall was incredible. Definitely snap a photo if you get the chance – it’s one of those moments that perfectly captures Penang’s mix of heritage and modernity.
After soaking in the views, I wandered down to the Esplanade for a relaxing walk by the waterfront. If you’re into history, Fort Cornwallis is also just a few minutes away – another great spot to explore!
Overall, this area has such a wonderful atmosphere, whether you’re here for the architecture, the sea breeze, or just to enjoy the sights. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in George Town – it’s worth it!

Famous seaside cape attraction in George Town, Penang, Malaysia: Padang Kota Lama, the old corner, super beautiful sea view, exquisite architecture, suitable for checking in and taking photos📸
#ChristmasGoodDestination2024
Georgetown in Penang, Malaysia is a world-famous tourist resort city, with thousands of tourists coming here for sightseeing and vacation every day. There are many seaside historical sites in George Town, Penang. This time we will introduce a local landmark seaside attraction: Padang Kota Lama. It is free to visit, no tickets are required, and it is close to the shipping terminal and bus station, with convenient transportation. The most famous thing about Penang's old Guanzai Cape is the sea view of the cape. Many local residents go to the cape to enjoy the sea view and go fishing. There are two old buildings of Penang City Hall near the cape. The white building on the right by the sea is called City Hall, which was built in 1903. It is a British-style building from the British period. The entire building of City Hall has pure white exterior walls, Greek Corinthian columns, and large and tall lattice windows, which is very gorgeous and beautiful. There is a huge lawn in front of the building, which is an open-air venue for the Penang government to accommodate the public during celebrations. There are photo-taking spots 📸 everywhere here, which is very suitable for photography 📸. It is also a good place to bring children for a parent-child tour during Christmas.

Georgetown on January 1st! Walk with the first year.
#2024WishEvent #PenangTravel #NewYearSunrise #WalkingTour #GeorgeTown
This is Georgetown on the morning of January 1st!
The sun rises around 7:30, so if you go out at 7, you can see a beautiful sunrise.
A walking event was held in front of City Hall for the New Year, and the roads were controlled, so it was a really comfortable Georgetown walking tour.
The sea is right in front, so enjoy walking in Old Town + sunrise together. 😀

An Evening Serenade at Esplanade
In twilight's gentle embrace, I stroll along Esplanade's grace,
Where laughter weaves a symphony, locals and tourists interlace.
With every step, a tale unfolds, shared whispers of delight,
As dusk paints the sky with hues, casting away the day's light.
The evening breeze caresses, a soothing touch upon my face,
As jubilant voices harmonize, mingling in this sacred space.
The rhythm of life, diverse and sweet, melodies interweaving,
Each laughter note a melody, the symphony of souls perceiving.
The jocund air surrounds me, contagious mirth in every sound,
In this mosaic of cultures, unity and joy resound.
With every stride, I'm embraced, by vibrant moments unforeseen,
Witnessing harmony's dance, where boundaries come serene.
Oh, Esplanade, your magic ignites, an enchanting harmony,
A sanctuary of shared smiles, where hearts and spirits roam free.
So, let us cherish these moments, under the starlit sky's dome,
As laughter intertwines our souls, in this evening walk I call home.
