Phraya Nakon Cave - A Must Visit Cave
#bangkoktrip #roadtrip #thailand #cave #temple #attraction #hiking
A 3hrs drive south of Bangkok is the beautiful city of Huahin, there is this Cave that you MUST visit especially if you have the strength and the endurance.
The Phraya Nahkon Cave is a Cave not for the faint hearted due to its insane steep climb up the hill on the island before you hit its peak you will then have to head down into the cave. There is no shortcut into this Cave, but a long 45mins climb. Do remember to bring at least a bottle of water and take your time while doing this climb. There are several stop points for you to be able to catch a glimpse of the beautiful beach down below.
Phraya Nakhon Cave
Phraya Nakhon Cave is a stunning natural wonder located in Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, in the Prachuap Khiri Khan Province of Thailand. The cave is known for its iconic image of a small pavilion, called "Kuha Karuhas", sitting in the middle of a large chamber with natural light streaming through a hole in the roof, illuminating the entire pavilion.
The cave is named after Phraya Nakhon, a nobleman who discovered the cave in the late 19th century. He was so impressed with its beauty that he decided to build a small pavilion inside the cave, which became a popular destination for royalty and other important figures.
To reach the pavilion, visitors must hike a steep trail through the jungle for about 30-40 minutes, passing through two caverns before arriving at the main chamber where the pavilion is located. The hike can be challenging, but the stunning views of the surrounding mountains and coastline make it worth the effort.
Phraya Nakhon Cave is open to visitors year-round, but it is best to visit during the dry season from November to April to avoid the rainy season. It is also recommended to visit early in the morning to see the pavilion bathed in the beautiful natural light that enters through the roof.
Phraya Nakhon Cave is a must-see destination for anyone visiting Thailand who loves nature and adventure.

It’s Huge!
The biggest cave I’ve ever been! It’s located 45 mins south of Hua hin but the trail needs 30 mins more to reach the cave. Advice is to wear comfortable shoes and bring water and your good swimming clothes because after the trek you can swim by the beach!

Highlight of khao Sam roi yot national park. It's a relatively easy trek of 1km. The paths are well laid out and there are several aids like stairways. Some areas are without shade and it gets extremely hot. The main cave area is pretty cool and you can walk around checking out various rocks and plants.

MUST Experience in Hua Hin
A visit to the Phraya Nakhon Cave is unforgettable and great for the whole family! #familytrip It is a must see when in Hua Hin! Here are all of the details and #mytravelhacks for a great visit.
It will take just under an hour to travel from hua Hin proper to Phraya Nakhon. We took a SongTao (truck) for 1500baht round trip. We would have ridden motorbikes if we didnt have the kids. It was an easy, comfortable drive. Upon arrival you’ll be met with restaurants, coffee shops, and bathrooms. The ticket office is easy to find. Non-Thai tickets: 200baht per adult/ 100 per kid. After buying entry tickets to the national park you have the choice to walk (a hot, upward 30 min walk to the cave area) or a BOAT! Boat tickets are purchased right near the entry tickets. As a family of 4 we opted for the full private boat tour for 1,200 baht. (You have the choice of full tour or round trip to the cave island). We would highly recommend the full tour.
Full Boat Tour:
On the full boat tour you go to the cave island, (hike, eat and stay as long as you want), then a longer boat ride across to more islands (you can ask to stop at for a swim at a private beach to cool off), then to a fishing village where you see lots of monkeys in the trees (we even saw one eating a fish!) and the boats in the fishing village are so colorful and interesting. Great photos! Finally the boat takes you back to where you began where your driver will be waiting for you.
The Hike to the Cave:
The hike was sweaty and up rocky stairs but completely doable for all of us ranging from 50-6 years old! Highly recommend bringing water to drink, and a few snacks to enjoy once you make the 435meter trek up to the shady cave. The views are stunning! The hike from the beach (boat drop off) to the cave was about 40 mins in total). Look for monkeys in the trees!
What to bring:
Camera!! Stunning photos!
Swim suit to swim at the cave island beach after your hike
Snacks and WATER
Timing:
The sunlight hits the cave just perfectly between 10:30-11:30am. I’d suggest leaving Hua Hin at 9-9:30am (depending your hiking speed) to make sure you arrive at the cave in that window. #historicallandmarks #localguides
Incredible Illuminated Pavilion
One of Thailand’s most beautiful caves and certainly the most photographed one is the Phraya Nakhon cave in Prachuap Khiri Khan province, about a 45 minutes drive South of Hua Hin.
This impressive cave is located inside Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park. Getting to the cave you will have some great views of beaches, mountains and forests.#phrayanakhoncave #khaosamroiyot #huahin #huahincity

the most valuable and important moment is the memories that will never forgotten
Paya Nakhon Cave, Hua Hin, Thailand, this is a magical tiankeng hidden in the mountains. Later, the Five Emperor of Thailand built a pavilion in the cave to worship the gods. It took more than three hours to walk by boat and walk. Going into the cave, climbing the mountain is super tired! Every day, between 12 and 3 noon, the sun will shine on the pavilion, so its a good time to go.

Paya Nakhon Cave, Hua Hin's most special landscape.
This is a magical tiankeng hidden in the mountains, located in the khao Sam roi hot national park. The Five Emperors of Thailand built a pavilion in the cave to worship the gods and slowly became famous in the area.
From Hua Hin city center, you need to take a car, take a boat, and walk for three hours to get to the cave.
When you walk into the cave, there is a feeling of openness and sorrow. The stone waterfall caused by the limestone next to the cave is not like a frozen waterfall.
finally reached the deepest part of the cave, the golden sunlight sprinkled through the top of the cave, and there was a moment of tranquility.
If you come over in the morning at noon, you can take the most beautiful picture of the sun shining on the top of the temple.
