Macau's must-try: Fernando's Portuguese Cuisine
Hey everyone👫, if you're traveling to Macau, Fernando's Portuguese Cuisine is an absolute must-visit!
Located near Hac Sa Beach in Coloane, it’s far from the hustle and bustle of the city. The moment you arrive, you’ll feel the relaxing vacation vibes🏖. The red-and-white checkered tablecloths instantly transport you to a quaint Portuguese countryside eatery. After your meal, you can take a stroll along the beach and enjoy the waves—pure bliss!
This restaurant is incredibly popular, especially on weekends and holidays, so we strongly recommend making a reservation in advance📞. They used to only accept cash, but now you can finally pay by card💳. Note that they don’t provide free water, and ordering wine is a better value🍷.
As for the dishes, they’re all top-notch! The Portuguese-style roasted suckling pig🐷 has crispy skin and tender meat; the seafood rice🦐 is loaded with fresh seafood; the braised oxtail🥩 is soft and flavorful; and the garlic shrimp🦐 is bursting with garlic aroma. Portions are generous, so if you’re in a small group, you can opt for half portions. The pre-meal bread is dense and filling—be careful not to get too full before the main course😂. Don’t miss the caramel pudding, which is rich and eggy.
The restaurant’s walls are covered with banknotes from various countries, which is super interesting, and the quirky slogans on the walls add to the charm😆. In short, if you want to experience authentic Portuguese cuisine in Macau, Fernando’s is the place to go!
