Sakushima - Art tour, suitable for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle ✨
Sakushima - a small island full of artworks✨
The first thing to do is of course to rent a bicycle and go on a self-driving tour🚲
Going in April, the weather is super comfortable, but of course you have to do a good job of sun protection~~
There are basically no tourists on the island, maybe I was the only one that day😆
Very quiet and leisurely
You can only hear the sound of bicycles, birds, and waves
Very suitable for people who want to get away from the hustle and bustle
There are map brochures available at the pier, introducing the locations of all the dozens of artworks on the island
You can go according to your preferences
Recommend to everyone✨✨

There are lots of photo spots, so it's fun!
I've always wanted to go and take photos at Ohirune House, but since summer was over, there was no line and I was able to take photos smoothly, so it was great◎
Also, Monpemaruke is a cafe I just happened to go to!
The interior is made in a Showa-era style, which gets me excited◎

Cafe Monpe Maruke on Sakushima Island✨️The name Monpe Maruke is a coined word that was added to the Nagoya dialect "maruke" (a word that means "raku") because working in the fields is done in monpe💡The shop was started by a woman who moved from Nagoya☺️It was a very charming and lovely shop that was renovated by DIY from an old house! It's located close to the Nishi Port of Sakushima Island! After returning my bicycle, I had a little time before the ferry, so I stopped by🥰I ordered the island yuzu lemon squash (¥550)! It was rich and sweet and very delicious💕There were various lunch menus and desserts👀There was also a picnic set, so it looked nice to eat outside! Sakushima, the Island of Art | Aichi Prefecture's 'Sakushima'
Sakushima, one of the three major islands of Aichi Prefecture, is also known as the Island of Art due to the various artistic forms that can be seen everywhere on the island.
Sakushima belongs to Nishio City in Aichi Prefecture and is a small island in Mikawa Bay. Along with Himakajima and Shinojima, it is referred to as the 'Aichi Three Islands'. It only takes 25 minutes by boat from Aichi Prefecture.
In 2001, in order to bring a turnaround to the rapidly depopulating Sakushima, the government launched a new plan that combined tradition, nature, and art, setting up multiple art installations on the island. In addition, many artists have taken up residence, giving Sakushima not only its original natural scenery but also a literary and artistic atmosphere, earning it the nickname 'Island of Art' 🎨

[Day trip] Enjoy art and nature! Photogenic trip to Sakushima📷✨
Sakushima Island is located in Mikawa Bay and can be reached from Nagoya in just over two hours. It is famous as an island of art. I went there. ⚠️There are few ferries to Sakushima Island, so it is important to check the timetable in advance! Also, if you use public transportation, you may have to wait quite a while for transfers, so it is important to do your research beforehand! I changed to a Meitetsu bus from Nishio Station and headed to Isshiki Port. It is a 20-minute ferry ride from Isshiki Port! The ferry fare was 1,660 yen round trip. I rented a bicycle to get around the island. There are two ways to get around: by bicycle or on foot! We rented bicycles for 500 yen for 2 hours✨️

It's not exactly easy to get to, but it was a really nice island ☺️
In the summer, there are a lot of people playing in the sea and fishing!
It's fun to explore the art, and even just taking a walk is exciting ✨️
It's an island that suits sunny days, so it's recommended for summer trips 🥰 I got the impression that there were a lot of couples, girls' trips, and parent-child trips, but I also enjoyed it enough on my own trip 💓 It seems like you can go around the island in one day, so if you want to see everything, I recommend that you have plenty of time!
📍Sakushima━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━Address: Sakushima, Isshiki-cho, Nishio City, Aichi PrefectureOpening hours: There are 7 ferries leaving Isshiki Port from 6:30 to 17:50Cost: Free time to explore the island

#AichiTrip
I went to Sakushima in Nishio City, Aichi Prefecture.
To get there, take a 20-minute boat ride from Isshiki Port at Isshiki Sakana Square to Sakushima West Port.
Sakushima has two ports, West Port and East Port, but if you want to go to the famous "Ohirune House" or "Kurokabe Village", use West Port. If you want to go to a guesthouse or the beach, use East Port. It's a 5-minute ferry ride from West Port to East Port.
For lunch, I decided to fill my stomach before going to Sakushima, so I had a seafood bowl at Restaurant Kaisen-an at Isshiki Sakana Square.
The sashimi was fresh and delicious.
I relaxed until the ferry time.
When I arrived at Sakushima, there was a bicycle rental shop, but I decided not to rent one because many of the roads were unpaved.
I looked at the map I got at the ferry terminal and went around the photo spots. There was a line to take photos at the popular "Ohirune House," so I took this photo from a distance.
On the way back, I bought some frozen eel at Isshiki Sakana Hiroba. It was plump, cheap, and very tasty, so I recommend it.

[Aichi] An Instagram-worthy remote island! Introducing Sakushima Island
Sakushima, located in Nishio City, Aichi Prefecture, is a tranquil remote island in Mikawa Bay with rich nature and traditional villages.
To reach the island, take a 20-minute high-speed boat from the ferry terminal in Isshiki-cho, Nishio City.
Although there are no traffic lights or convenience stores, in recent years it has attracted attention as an art island, especially from young people, and has become an Instagram-worthy spot where you can take beautiful photos with the art works scattered throughout the island.
There are many tourists in the areas with art, and some pieces have to be viewed in line, but even just strolling around away from the hustle and bustle of the city is a very pleasant experience.
