A day in Narita Japan! Achieved and explored many places! Here’s my itinerary…. Touched down at 9+am… Quick explore of (1) Narita airport and board the free shuttle bus to deposit my baggage before starting my day! 11:30am: Travel from Narita airport Soranoyu Onsen hotel to Keisei Narita station for (2) Omotesando street, ate lots of snacks along the way to (3) Naritasan Shinsho-ji temple, (4) Great Pagoda of Peace (5) Naritasan park (6) Sakura Furusato Square for the Dutch windmill and Tulip field and sunset!!! (Take train from Keisei Narita to Keisei Sakura and change to the small service bus) (7) Narita Airport Soranoyu Onsen hotel (soak off your tired legs from all the walking in their open air Onsen and indoor Onsen bath, chill and have dinner in the hotel cafe lounge before calling it a day at 23:00pm

[Motosakura Castle] Motosakura Castle towered on a hill. It is one of Japan's Top 100 Castles. Looking up from below, it is easy to imagine that it is a little high and difficult to attack, but looking from above, you can see the surroundings. It seems that the sea used to be up to this point, and shipping was also well developed. GOTO Shizuoka Fujinomiya & Numazu solo trip 4-day holiday in September. I went to my favorite Shizuoka with GOTO Travel. There was no traffic jam on the train and bus. It was fun. I got energy from Mt. Fuji, ate some delicious food, and I can keep going for a while!

#cherryblossom25 Yes — a town literally called Sakura! Sakura Castle Park in Chiba is a perfect blend of history and hanami. The castle itself is long gone, but the moats, walls, and layout are still there, giving it this old-world charm. I arrived during golden hour and walked through cherry trees that line the former castle grounds, their petals drifting like confetti over stone paths. It was peaceful, quiet, and steeped in history. There's also the National Museum of Japanese History nearby, so you can easily make it a full cultural day trip. What made this extra special for my #cherryblossom25 trip was how few tourists were there — it felt like discovering a hidden layer of Japan. I sat on a low stone wall with a sakura-themed taiyaki and watched a local kendo club practice in the distance. It was like time travel with blossoms.

Kawamura Memorial DIC Museum of Art, which sadly closed on March 31, 2025, has decided to open a reduced portion of its garden from May 1. The open area will be limited to the grass plaza, excluding the area around the museum and the nature trail. The hydrangeas, weeping cherry blossoms, and water lily pond at the back of the garden will not be included. I visited the museum before it closed, but there are many different plants planted in the garden, so it was fun just to stroll around. With the museum closing, the free shuttle bus will no longer be available, so access will be even more difficult, but if you're in the area, please be sure to stop by. #cherryblossom25 🌷 It’s Tulip Time in Chiba! 🌷 While we’re still waiting for the cherry blossoms to fully bloom, you can enjoy another spring flower display at Sakura Furusato Square right now! Over 700,000 tulips of around 100 different varieties surround the square's windmill during the tulip festival, which started on March 27th and is expected to continue until April 21st. The grounds here are free to enter, but if you’re looking for another activity to do while you’re here, you can rent a bicycle and ride around the lake that's right next to the windmill. Sakura is located between Tokyo and Narita Airport, making it a great day-trip destination for a spring day out in nature!

📍 DIC Kawamura Memorial Museum of Art The DIC Kawamura Memorial Museum of Art is a private museum in Sakura City, Chiba Prefecture. It stores and exhibits the collections of three generations of the Kawamura family, including Kijuro Kawamura, and is operated by DIC Corporation. It was established on the premises of DIC's general research institute to display art collected by DIC and its affiliated companies, and opened on May 2, 1990. It was formerly known as the Kawamura Memorial Museum of Art. The museum building, designed by Ebihara Ichiro, one of Japan's leading modernist architects, stands in a garden of about 10,000 square meters that makes use of the Satoyama topography of Sakura City, Chiba Prefecture. The news spread that the museum, which has been loved in this area for a long time since its opening in 1990, will close on March 31, 2025. I visited the museum with the hope of getting a last look at the Rothko Room and Frank Stella's works before the closure. There were 50 to 60 people lined up at the bus stop that goes directly from Tokyo Station to the museum, and an air of quiet excitement was in the air. Unfortunately, photography is not permitted anywhere inside the museum. We were only able to take photos of the exterior and garden. The museum is closed, and there is a possibility that it will remain closed. I'm really glad that I was able to visit this time!
