Top of Shanghai, Shanghai Tower, the 2nd tallest building in the world is a must see. It stands at an impressive 632m high. A pity the sky was not clear on this day. Be sure to choose a day with clean clear skies. I don't recommend the weekend, except Friday evening; this was at 6:30 p.m. so we got to see the west Bund lights come on at 7pm. The sky was smoggy so we didn't have the best sunset.

One of the biggest skyscrapers in Shanghai is the Shanghai Tower, located on The Bund. As well as being an attraction to view in itself, you can also take an elevator right up to the top to see some great views of Shanghai. Visiting the Shanghai Tower was pretty impressive, and the views were good. The price is a little bit expensive, even though you take the fastest elevator in the world and get to experience an amazing view from the 118/119 floor. There are a few restaurants where you can buy food and drinks. I would recommend you do it late in the afternoon to experience great views and lights.

On a clear day you can see incredibly far from the Shanghai tower. It is great fun to stand at the top and try and spot some of the famous sights and streets and maybe even your own home. The ticket price is a little expensive at 160rmb each but well worth it. It is best to try and plan to go on a clear day. It doesn’t feel worth the money when you can’t see very far. The attraction is really well managed, the tickets are easy to pick up and you are then ushered through security and on to a super fast elevators which take you to the top. Once at the top there is a 360 Degree view. You can walk around any side of the tower. There is a bar/ café which we didn’t try and a shop for gifts. Shanghai tower is a must visit for Shanghai, it will always be the biggest and best view and can easily take 2 hours.

With floor-to-ceiling windows, you’ll be able to browse through over a collection over 60,000 books and catch views of the Huangpu River skyline. When you get there, enter the Shanghai Tower from entrance 2 on the first floor. Show your online reservation code, and the attendant will escort you to the 52nd floor where you’ll enter the bookstore. The store itself is separated into two sections, each with a distinct design and atmosphere. With natural light coming in from the huge windows, the white section feels airy and bright, fitted with arched shelves and stacks of books. Further inside is the cave-like black section, where you’ll find art displays and a selection of gifts among the books. If you’re lucky enough to visit on a day with nice weather, be sure to try and snag a window seat – the views are pretty amazing. The bookstore has a café where one drink will set you back around 30 to 40 RMB. It tends to get pretty full on the weekends, so we recommend going during the week if you’re looking for a more peaceful, quiet bookstore experience. WOW WOW WOW. As the title says you cannot go to a higher observation point on the world than this. Yes the Burj in Dubai is a lot taller but its observation deck is lower. To look down on other skyscrapers tall buildings is an amazing experience. I would say a lot better at night as it’s often murky out during the day. Do it you won’t regret it
