2025 Mystic Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in May)

A short amtrack ride from Providence & I was in a new state. Mystic, CT is such a quaint coastal town, made famous by the Julia Robert’s film, Mystic Pizza. A glorious crisp winter day made for perfect exploring of the downtown area, which is full of local shops, coffee shops and restaurants. Sift bakery is definitely worth a stop & the line outside speaks for itself.

For anyone who comes to vacation in Connecticut, you can come to visit the city of Mystic here. It is a small town in the state. The village is minimalist and warm. There is a harbor and the sea. There are various restaurants. I myself went to support a Thai shop called Samurai Grill & Bar. The food is delicious. The price is reasonable. There is also live music in the afternoon. Clean, spacious rooms. Friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast includes bagels, muffins, yogurt, coffee and tea. Close to Mystic Village and historical Downtown Mystic. Many wonderful restaurants close by.

#mystic is for sure a tourist town, but it does have its charms. Walking along the seaport is nice and the town has a lovely set of restaurants and places to enjoy yourself. Pop in for a slice of Mystic Pizza and you can almost imagine Julia Roberts serving it to you. #triplocal
