You can see the Four Gentlemen, which means the four seasons, blooming from the tip of a brush🇰🇷

This afternoon, I visited the "FourGentlemen" special exhibition at Suwon Museum and encountered the essence of oriental aesthetics! The eight-panel plum blossom screen at the entrance caught my eye, and the white plum blossoms on the black background were shining like hope in the cold winter! I looked at the bamboo painting by Kim Myeong-guk from the mid-Joseon Dynasty for a long time because it felt like it was swaying in the wind. ㅎㅎ
📌 Points for solo travelers
Recommended experience: Drawing a fan of the Four Gracious Plants → Drawing an orchid using the literati painting technique (25 minutes, 6,000 won)
Hidden spot: "Room of Ink Scent" on the 2nd floor → Exhibition room where ink painting is made with few visitors
Recommended snack: Museum cafe "Four Gracious Plants Sweets" (7,500 won) → Set of 4 seasonal sweets and tea
🚨 Notes
The fan experience ends at 4:20 p.m. (need time to clean up the ink)
The 2nd floor is a little dry to control humidity, so be careful with your throat
The sweets are made only on the day, so if you go late, there is a high chance that they will be sold out
I didn't know how lightly to hold the brush during the orchid drawing experience, so I had to draw it three times!!! When I drew the first stroke, my hands were shaking and the ink smudged, but the instructor comforted me by saying, "This is the natural beauty of orchids." LOL The last chrysanthemum video in the exhibition hall showed chrysanthemums blooming on a frosty autumn day in super fast speed, making me feel the passage of time!! Highly recommended since it's free!
