\Recommended way to tour Kamikochi / ⁡ *As of November 28, 2024, the mountain is closed and cannot be visited. *The mountain is usually open from mid-April to mid-November. ⁡ I went to Kamikochi in late October. 🍁 It is closed now, but I will leave it here as a memorandum. ⁡ I left home at 3:30 in the morning and arrived at Akandana Parking Lot before 7:00. The weather was great, and the water was incredibly clear—absolutely stunning! To protect the natural environment, private cars are prohibited here, so you must use public transportation. The bus system is well-developed. I started trekking at 5:30 AM from Taisho Pond. The nature was refreshing, and even though it was August, the air felt slightly cool. The greenery sparkled, and the mountains reflected on the water like a transparent mirror. I highly recommend visiting! Comfortable clothing suitable for walking is a must.
