Sarutahiko Shrine in Higashimurayama, Tokyo 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 The shrine was founded when a koshin tower at a crossroads on an old road was moved here as a sacred object and enshrined as a guardian deity. A covering hall was built over this koshin tower and it was named Sarutahiko Shrine. The shrine was founded in August 1895 to celebrate the opening of Higashimurayama Station, and to enshrine the road god Sarutahiko Okami as the guardian deity. If you look inside the shrine building, you can see a magnificent koshin tower. Inari Shrine in Higashimurayama, Tokyo 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 This shrine is located between Tokorozawa Station and Higashimurayama Station. It sits quietly, sandwiched between residential areas. The date of its founding is unknown. It was closed off by a fence, but it wasn't locked, so we were able to go inside. There was a small carving of a shrine, and we were able to see a rising and descending dragon. Kumegawa Kumano Shrine in Higashimurayama, Tokyo 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 This shrine is located a little off the Fuchu Kaido road. The date of its founding is unknown. It is said that Nitta Yoshisada stationed his troops here during the Battle of Kumegawa in the Genkō era (1331-1334). It is the guardian deity of the old Kumegawa village. It was ranked as a village shrine in 1871. The shrine building is magnificent and has a good old feel to it. Next to it are the shrines of Ise Jingu, Shinmeisha, Ontake Shrine, and Inari Shrine. Akitsu Hikawa Shrine in Tokorozawa City, Saitama Prefecture 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 A shrine located west of Shin-Akitsu Station. It is said to have been founded in 818 as the Hikawa Shrine, a Shingon sect Ryusenji temple in Akitsu Village. It was ranked as a village shrine in 1873. The entrance to the shrine grounds is covered by a large tree. There are four small shrines and a pair of fox statues on the side. There is a residence next to the main shrine, and people come and go, but the gift shop and other areas do not seem to be open to the public. #hanami Higashimurayama is Shimura Ken's hometown. It's not a very exciting place on a normal day, but... (It's a town with a gentle and calm atmosphere) When the cherry blossoms bloom, it turns into an endless tunnel of cherry blossoms. You can walk around and reminisce about all kinds of springs. The beautiful cherry blossoms and a glass of sake. Just for a moment. It's soothing.

#TokyoTourism The town of Shimura Ken, a great Showa era actor. Higashimurayama. "Higashimurayama~" reminds me of the days when we still had to change channels on the TV. The world suddenly closed off from those Showa era days and it feels like a different era, but the town has a warm atmosphere. I felt the same when I went to Kagoshima, but there is something warm about a town that has produced great people. There is a delicious bakery in front of the station, and a community center, so you can relax here.
