We arrived at Decheng Restaurant at around 5pm. We thought it would open at 5:30pm, but it was already fully seated at 5:15pm. There were more than 20 groups of customers lined up outside. We waited 45 minutes to be seated and 15 minutes for the food to be served. The dishes are all quite delicious and not expensive. If I have to point out any drawbacks, it's probably that the seats are quite crowded and the food doesn't have much flavor.

There are a lot of menus, but I saw on some blogs that they said to order tofu dishes and stir-fried pork belly, so I picked without even looking at anything else! (I noticed that other tables also ordered tofu dishes) Morning Glory is my favorite, so I picked it! Morning Glory is not the main dish, but it has shrimp in it, so it was very savory. Everyone else is a little salty, so it was really delicious when I ate it with rice. The tofu was just right! The egg custard was well-seasoned! There were only two of us, so we couldn't order much, but next time we go, I definitely want to try other things. remember to visit this very famous local food in Penang. must come early as the queue can be super long. the roasted pork is the best in Penang. prices are really affordable and it is nearby to old Georgetown.

It is around 850 meters 10 minutes walk from Kotmar Bus Terminal. There is no shortage of Chinese restaurants and street food stalls throughout the city, Teksen is one of the more well known heritage Chunese restaurants in Georgetown, established since 1965, and gets packed out every night they open. Teksen offers delicious Chinese cuisine, featuring a wide range of authentic Cantonese, Teochew, Hakka and Peranakan delights. I ordered prawn paste chicken, homemade seafood tofu, fried rice and iced barley drink. The chicken with an obvious prawn paste flavour and aroma, with crispy texture and the meat considered relatively juicy. The tofu is smooth and wobbly, the fried rice is also fragrant with a mixture of meat.

Went twice here for lunch and dinner. Ordered some of their famous dishes such as Home Recipe Double Roasted Pork with Chili Padi, Spur Plum Chicken, Asam Prawn etc. Pricing is quite reasonable. Staff here are friendly and efficient.
