Beaches and shores
The No. 1 Bathing Beach is located at No. 15, Nanhai Road, Shinan District, Qingdao City, Shandong Province. It is located on the bank of the scenic Huiquan Bay and is a natural bathing beach in the central area of Qingdao. The bathing beach was built in 1901 by the German colonial government. It is known as the "No. 1" bathing beach in East Asia for its fine sand and gentle slope. It has a history of more than 120 years. The bathing beach is about 580 meters long and about 40 meters wide, with a total area of about 3.2 hectares and a water area of 54.77 hectares. The natural conditions are extremely superior, with no hidden reefs and gullies, flat beaches, clear sea water, and suitable slopes. The daily reception capacity can reach 200,000 people. In midsummer, the blue waves and sunny beaches attract countless tourists to swim in the sea or stroll to watch the sea. The bathing beach has complete supporting facilities: there are many colorful dressing rooms and shower points distributed along the beach, and public service facilities such as concert halls, restaurants, toilets and lockers are set up in the area.
