A trip worth making more than once!! 😍🥹🤩
The Big Buddha, or Giant Buddha located on Pnong Ping island in Lantau Island district, is one of the best places I’ve ever been to. The entire trip to get to the Buddha is worth it, whether you are traveling via the 360 degree view gondola, or via bus, you will enjoy the trip going there. (I strongly recommend the gondola glass ride there and back though!) The views getting to Pnong Ping is just magical from the gondola. You can even spot the Big Buddha from it. You will also spot the ocean and mini rock islands on the right. There are lovely places to eat and indulge in authentic cuisine, I chose the Indian restaurant as it was popular with many foreign and local people. The food was absolutely delicious, a perfect 10/10 🤩 After going up the staircase to the Buddha itself, you can snap some gorgeous pictures with your travel buddies and get those amazing selfies! When you’re done, make sure to head down to the Monastery with the most beautiful architectural details and the famous Ten thousand Buddha Temple located at the end. A guaranteed peaceful and beautiful sensation that you will experience. An amazing khoi fish pond that is shaped in a Khoi fish will also leave you in awe. There are also lots of souvenir stores for you to purchase a little trinket or two, and some pure silver stores that has gorgeous jewelry that will make you want to spend most of your money on! You can also contribute to the maintenance of the Buddha by donating in the boxes that are situated in the Buddha itself and at the monastery. Take the family along, because this trip will be enjoyed by everyone, guaranteed! 😊👌#historicallandmarks #hongkongtrip #mytravelhacks #trip #familytrip #localguides

Tian Tan Buddha (Big Buddha)
#hongkongtrip
After taking the cable car up to Tian Tan, we walked through a delightful village filled with quaint souvenir shops & eateries, before ascending the 268 steps up towards the Big Buddha.
Once at the top, the views are unrivaled; simply stunning and you truly can't gauge the size of the buddha until you're up close!
It's well worth visiting the Po Lin Monastery upon your descent, to feel peace & discover the history of the Buddha.
268 steps to beautiful views
Attractions - On the top of 268 steps is an amazing big bronze Buddha statue, surrounded by other statues and beautiful views. Tian Tan Buddha
#hongkongtrip
For Buddhists and non-Buddhists, a trip to the Big Buddha Statue (Tian Tan Buddha) is a must when you are at Tung Chung.
It’s located near Ngong Ping Village up the hills. You can take the land transport (bus or car) or by air (cable car).
As the impending typhoon “delayed” its arrival into the island, we were very lucky that it wasn’t a rainy day nor was it too hot.
Also it wasn’t very crowded and we had a leisurely climb up to the peak for close up pictures with the Buddha. It is cooler with the breeze coming in from the sea. We also toured the inside of the temple and paid our respect to Anita Mui’s tablet.
Po Lam Monastery is nearby and a few steps away once you decent from the climb. They serve very good vegetarian food.

268 steps to see the Big Buddha! 😍
So my cousin brought me for the first time in Lantau island... to see the Big Buddha itself. According to internet, this is the biggest bronze sitting Buddha outdoor in all of the world. I must say, climbing those 268 steps is abit challenging but very worth it. At the top of the stairs, lies this majestic sitting Buddha. Say your prayer and be respectful with the other tourists. Dont be so loud while you're there.
One item on ny bucketlist: CHECKED ☑️

Scratch this off your bucket list!!! 😍🥰🥹
The Big Buddha also known as the Tian Tan Buddha is the worlds tallest and biggest outdoor seated bronze Buddha. Located on the Islands District in Hong Kong, in Ngong Pong Island. The Big Buddha is sitting on 268 stone steps with a total height of 35 meters with a lotus pedestal at the base, at a whopping 250 tons. This is an excellent achievement for modern architecture and it also provides a special cultural heritage of mankind.
Getting There - You can get to the island via a 360 degree sky-view gondola ride for about 160 HKD per person, which only takes about 22 minutes. However, you will not regret this ride. You will literally be on top of the world, looking down and all around at the gorgeous scenery surrounding you in the sky. 😍Alternatively, there is a bus that goes there which takes more than an hour.
Attractions - The Big Buddha, the Islands and coast line with the most beautiful colors of blue and Green that just make the trip worth it. You will see picturesque beach views as well as feel yourself on top of the highest mountains. The feeling is absolutely unbelievable and should not be missed! 😍🥰🥹

Food & Restaurants - There are plenty of restaurants both foreign and local that will satisfy your taste buds, so once again, the choice is yours.
Shopping - Once you return to the metro station at Ngong Ping Island, there is a shopping mall with popular name brand stores as well as restaurants and dining places. There are an abundance of food options that will suit anyone’s needs. 🤤
The best part is that everyone speaks English so you can never get lost! Just make sure you have cash on you in HKD for all of your purchases.😁 #bigbuddha #island #islandlife #islandtravel #hongkong #travel #mytripvlog #summertime #vacation #happiness
HK BUCKET List 🇭🇰 - Tian Tan Buddha!
#visithongkong
Tian Tan Buddha is a large bronze statue located in Lantau Island. It is, I believe, one of the most popular attractions in HK!
The statue sits atop a hill, offering panoramic views of the surrounding area. You can hike to reach the statue, or take a cable car for a scenic ride up to the top.
near the buddha there is a small town and a temple where you can light incense and make offerings. It is an iconic destination in Hong Kong.
Address: Ngong Ping Rd, Lantau Island, Hong Kong
How to go: Take the MTR to Tung Chung Station and then take the Ngong Ping 360 cable car to Ngong Ping Village. From there, the statue is a short walk away.
Ambience: Serene and tranquil
Rating: 4.5 out of 5
Make sure you visit Tian Tan Buddha if you have a few days in HK!
BIG BUDDHA WHO? BIG BUDDHA, WHERE???
Alright, so you’ve made it to Hong Kong, now what? I suggest you go to
Address-Ngong Ping Rd, Lantau Island
Why? To see the Big Buddha statue of course!
Another thing I suggest if you don’t mind, is opting for a crystal cable car (glass bottom). I took that one and I saw the lush green scenery of the trees beneath my feet and the teal of the water as I made the journey to the island. The crystal car is more expensive than the regular one and honestly, since I paid for that one-I can you it’s not at all necessary if you decided to opt out. The best benefits of the crystal car was that I had a whole one to myself (usually sit 8-10 people) and there was no line when I was ready to hop on and off.
Operation time is from 10am-6pm. I spent the entire day here because it was a task to get great pictures and videos free of other tourists milling about. It’s a popular destination afterall.
Make sure you have a hearty breakfast before you go, I don’t remember any restaurants there. Oh and pack a powerbank. If you ended up like me and both powerbank and phone are low on battery, there is small place close to what you’d call the town where the shops are, that you can use to recharge so long as you have your charging cable.
I’m sorry I don’t remember the name but after leaving big Buddha, the store is on your right and there is this coin machine inside and lots of pamphlets talking about butterflies. Don’t mean to be dramatic but I felt that place saved my life cause I don’t know what I’d have done without my phone. Also, if you have no charging cable, get one at 7-Eleven there. It should cost no more than 12HKD.
Hope that’s helpful!#hongkong #lantauisland #ngongping360 #passionpassport #tripmoments

Tian Tan Buddha Hong Kong
#meethongkong
An amazing location of pure serenity. There are a number of ways to reach this incredible location, bus, taxi, but best of all the glass bottom cable car, which begins its journey from Tung Chung, Lantau Island. It pays to go early because there can be huge queues for cable car, especially on a Tuesday, but the wait is well worth it.
The view from the cable is amazing as you go over the bays at up to 300 ft, after which you go between the mountains, then as if he jumped out of the mountains, the Buddha appears as if by magic. Upon reaching the venue, you will find there is plenty to do and see.
There are many restaurants and food outlets, along with drinks a plenty (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). As you walk through the impressive gateway to the main site, you will see highly cleansed cows wandering freely around, plus many Buddhist Monks who are quite happy to have a photograph taken with you.
Then comes the 260 steps up to the main attraction, The Big Buddha, the daunting bronze figure seems to come alive as you get nearer, as though beckoning you, makes you very different inside, quite unexplainable. When you reach the top you can walk around the Buddha, you can also go inside, within the Buddha.
Please kindly observe that NO PHOTOGRAPHY IS ALLOWED INSIDE HERE, as it is sacred, PLEASE RESPECT THIS. If ever you go to Hong Kong, the Big Buddha is an absolute must.
Highly recommended.

Stormy days at the incredible Buddha in HK
#meethongkong
Let me introduce you to the Tian Tan Buddha strategically located on Lantau Island in Hong Kong. The location is great because it is located close to the International Airport of Hong Kong and also close to Disney Land in Hong Kong. Furthermore it is easy to get there from Hong Kong as well. We took the bus all the way to the top and when we arrived it was raining cats and dogs, so we had to get some rain coats. From there we walked about ten to fifteen minutes to the Tian Tan Buddha which was closed unfortunately due to the heavy rain. Anyways we had a great view on the Buddha from the bottom #tripblazers

World’s largest outdoor bronze Buddha!
And 268 steps to reach the top. But it is totally worth it! I recommend taking the cable car up from the Citygate mall in Tung Chung. It is a great adventure in itself (get a glass bottom crystal car) and it is great to summit the first mountain on the range and to see the Big Buddha come into view.
There is a while village near the base where you can get souvenirs and a bite to eat. The view from the top is amazing making this a Hong Kong must-do.

📍Tian Tan Buddah Lantau Hongkong I loved this place!
The view from the top is great. amazing set atop a high mountain range with great views of the surrounding area. This place is very relaxing and peaceful.. The temple offers a great choice of vegan food.
Tian Tan Buddha
Visit Ngong Ping to pay homage to the "Tian Tan Buddha", the largest Buddha statue in Hong Kong, located in the Ngong Ping Village on the western side of Lantau Island.
🚠 When going to Ngong Ping, it was close to the time for maintenance closure, so I went to check out the situation on-site. The queue for the cable car was extremely long, so I decided to take bus number 23 instead. The bus stop is past the cable car entrance, and there are signs along the way. The bus fare is 19.60 dollars. For the return trip, I bought a Crystal Plus cable car ticket for 320 dollars per person.

As I ascend the 268 steps leading to the towering bronze statue, a sense of reverence envelops me. The colossal figure, measuring 34 meters in height, emanates an aura of serenity and wisdom. The stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and the distant South China Sea further enhance the ethereal atmosphere.
Upon reaching the top, I am greeted by the radiant smile of the Buddha, known as Tian Tan. The sheer craftsmanship and intricate details of the statue are truly remarkable, leaving me spellbound. I take a moment to admire the harmonious blend of traditional Buddhist artistry and modern architectural techniques that brought this masterpiece to life.
Adjacent to the Big Buddha, the Po Lin Monastery offers a sanctuary for quiet contemplation. I immerse myself in the soothing chants of monks, inhale the aroma of incense, and witness the devotion of worshippers. The vegetarian cuisine served in the monastery's restaurant is a delightful treat for the taste buds, allowing me to savor the flavors of Buddhist culinary traditions.
Before concluding my visit, I explore the Wisdom Path, a tranquil trail adorned with wooden pillars inscribed with the Heart Sutra, one of Buddhism's most sacred texts. Walking along this path, surrounded by lush greenery, imparts a sense of peace and introspection.
Visiting the Big Buddha in Hong Kong is an experience that transcends the physical realm. It is a spiritual odyssey that invites me to reflect, find inner peace, and embrace the beauty of both the statue and its surroundings. The grandeur of the Big Buddha, coupled with the serenity of Lantau Island, creates a profound and unforgettable encounter. So, whether I seek solace, cultural enrichment, or simply wish to witness the splendor of this monumental landmark, a visit to the Big Buddha is sure to leave an indelible mark on my soul.
