Built along the lake, the park preserves the pristine wetland ecology, and in the 1970s trails and marinas were introduced to draw visitors closer to nature. Strolling through the garden, the lake mirrors the blue sky, white herons fly low, the wooden dock extends into the sea, overlooking the San Francisco skyline, the autumn breeze blows, the grass is golden. In the cold winter, a thick jacket is required and an easy 2-3 hour walk along the lake trail is perfect for a picnic or sunset viewing.
