#Weishan Ancient City Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Strolling leisurely through the small town | The seriously underrated birthplace of the Nanzhao Kingdom
| The seriously underrated birthplace of the Nanzhao Kingdom. This place is known as 'Zhao Ling'er's hometown', the cradle of the ancient Nanzhao state. Weishan Ancient Town is small, but clean, which is a stark and pleasant contrast for someone like me who just came from XX Ancient Town. It lacks the endless stream of tourists found in other ancient towns, so it doesn't become annoyingly crowded after a short while and it's not overly commercialized. There are many interesting shops.
The Xinggong Tower is beautiful for photos, and it's recommended to go early when there are fewer people. You can handprint a postcard in the shop. The Jiama Nanzhao Museum is very worthwhile. Transportation: about 20+ minutes by high-speed train
Self-driving takes about an hour (the ancient town is not big, there are many parking lots around, and parking is quite convenient).
Ancient town cuisine:
Taste varies according to personal preference, so no recommendations are given.
Itinerary: If you only have one day, it is recommended to visit Weishan Ancient Town. If you have time and like pottery cats, you can go and make one.
Not far from Weishan Ancient Town, there is a small factory where you can experience making pottery cats.
If you have plenty of time, you can go and make your own pottery cat~ If you're skilled, you can even create your own design.
It's about a 15-minute drive, and you can also get there by taxi. If you can't make it well, you can buy one made by the factory on the spot, the prices are super friendly, and the owners are extremely nice.
The birthplace of the Nanzhao Kingdom, Yunnan, is a treasure ancient city worth visiting
The birthplace of the Nanzhao Kingdom🏮 Yunnan is a treasure ancient city worth visiting.
During the half year I lived in Dali, I went to Weishan five times.
No matter when you go, it is always filled with an unworldly atmosphere of daily life.
There are no bustling tourists, no grandmothers insisting on braiding your hair.
Only well-preserved old buildings that record more than six hundred years of history.
Many people do not know that this is the real birthplace of the Nanzhao Kingdom.
And it is also the hometown of Zhao Ling'er, the descendant of the goddess Nuwa in the game 'The Legend of Sword and Fairy'.
Sitting on the sunny streetside and drinking a cup of Bai ethnic roasted tea
Can satisfy all your imaginations of the peaceful old times of Yunnan's ancient towns.
🚄Transport
It's actually not far from Dali, just an hour's drive.
Take the train directly from Dali Station to Weishan Station, and you'll arrive in 20 minutes.
All the food, drinks, fun, and shopping are located within the Weishan Ancient Town.
It takes about a day to explore, so you can make a round trip in one day.
☕️Shops
Although it is an ancient town, Weishan's artistic atmosphere is also very strong.
There are cafes, teahouses, cultural and creative shops, and bookstores on the main street.
A small restaurant and 'Dream Back to Nanzhao' are run by a couple from Guangdong.
One sells coffee and the other sells roasted tea, and the two shops are right next to each other.
Years ago, they moved to Weishan to avoid the commercialization of Dali.
These two shops are places we always make sure to visit each time we go.
📝Intangible Cultural Heritage
In Li Meng's Book House, a 90-year-old grandfather is still persisting in calligraphy creation.
Not far away, a pair of elderly couple runs the wood carving Jia Ma.
The Jia Ma paintings carved by the grandfather are only 5 yuan each.
There are also shops selling bamboo weaving, tie-dyeing, tile cats, and pottery on the street.
And each one is much cheaper than in Dali.
If you want to learn about the history of Nanzhao, you can also visit the Weishan Museum.
In short, this is a town that is both fun to explore and full of historical charm.
🍜Cuisine
Another reason I love Weishan is that the food here is really too delicious.
Not only is it the birthplace of the authentic Braised Meat Ersi,
During the New Year, there is also the Weishan Snack Festival and the Long Table Feast.
Every time we go, we head straight for Nanzhao Zhu Ji's One-Strand Noodles.
A big bowl full with stewed tender meat chunks and fried eggs.
Every bite is full of satisfaction and happiness (writing this makes my mouth water).
🍢Snacks
Fried milk fan, candied fruit, bean rice cakes, etc., are all special snacks.
Even if you're too full, I suggest buying some to take away and eat later.
The food street also has a young lady selling dried beef.
Her beef and beef liver are slow-roasted on the same day.
After being smashed with a hammer, they are cut into small pieces.
My Inner Mongolian friend, who is used to eating beef and mutton, finds it extremely satisfying.
I admit that my partiality for Weishan is to the extent that I am reluctant to share it.
Selfishly, I want to hide it away yet also recommend it to the whole world.
I hope that in the years to come, it can continue to retain its unique character.
And I hope that everyone who goes there will like and cherish it.
Weishan Ancient City's Intangible Cultural Heritage Cuisine
Weishan Ancient City is a food city in Yunnan with a thousand-year heritage, where many intangible cultural heritage cuisines are preserved on the food street of the ancient city.
Cuisine Recommendations
Braised Pork with Rice Noodles
This is an intangible cultural heritage traditional cuisine originating from Weishan. The real braised pork is made by stewing the meat from the hind leg until tender, then mixing the broth and shredded meat with rice noodles, paired with sticky rice noodles. Starting at 10 yuan.
Weishan Yigenmian (One-Noodle)
A shop sells only one noodle per day and closes once it's sold out. This is also a Weishan intangible cultural heritage cuisine. A round plate holds one noodle, and all the customers in the shop eat from the same noodle, served with braised pork, eggs, and various other ingredients. 10 yuan.
Oil Powder
A staple made of layers of pea powder and bean curd skin, paired with shredded radish, vinegar, chili, and other ingredients. Oil powder is also a unique snack from the Weishan area, highly recommended. Starting at 5 yuan.
Steamed Rice Cake
Somewhat similar to cooked pear cake, the rice flour is steamed into a sticky rice cake. Starting at 5 yuan.
Dried Fruits and Preserves
Local hickory nuts are wrapped in sugar to make pastry preserves.
Weishan Baba
There are sugar pear flower baba, mugwort baba, and rose baba. Starting at 5 yuan.
Additionally, Weishan also has roasted rice cubes, ice powder, rolled powder, Guojiang rice noodles, and other traditional snacks, and the double-skin milk here is highly recommended.
Transportation
Take the bus to Weishan from the Dali Xiaguan City South Bus Station, a journey of one and a half hours, costing 17 yuan.

hi~ I'm a wandering snail, trying out a different lifestyle, roaming at a slow pace without rushing, planning to record 100 cities, 600 attractions. I'll share some of the beauty I encounter, travel tips and photo spots, and insights into living on the road, hoping to help those in need.
Yunnan Off-the-Beaten-Path Travel Guide, the Forgotten Yi Ethnic Ming and Qing Ancient Village
Likeng Village, an ancient Ming and Qing village that remains 'unnoticed in a secluded place,' has been abandoned before it was even developed.
This is also the most representative traditional ancient village in Weishan, backed by green mountains, facing a clear stream, with a well-ordered layout. The residential buildings rise along the mountain in three rows: upper, middle, and lower. Unfortunately, the preservation is not very good, and some of the residential houses have collapsed.
So, how did Likeng Village get its name?
It is said that there was an ancient well in the village that produced good water, which could cleanse people's eyes, hence it was beneficial to guests, thus the name Likeng Village.
I think this name is very warm and extremely friendly. Just like the villagers here, who are all simple and kind.
🎈Likeng Village Travel Tips 🎈
✅Likeng Village is about 8-9 kilometers away from Weishan Ancient Town
✅A taxi ride there costs about 20 yuan, and it's hard to get a taxi back, so be sure to negotiate with the driver in advance to pay an extra ten yuan for a return pick-up (call the driver in advance)
✅Ming and Qing architectural complex, a must-visit for those who like ancient architecture and villages

Nanzhao Museum
Nanzhao Museum is located on Baoguo Street in the ancient city of Weishan, Dali. It is a venue that inherits the historical and cultural heritage of the Nanzhao Kingdom. Weishan, Dali, is the birthplace of the ancient Nanzhao Kingdom. In the year 649 AD, the Yi leader Xinuluo established the Nanzhao Kingdom. With the support of the Tang Dynasty government at that time, Nanzhao gradually unified the Erhai region and 'solemnly followed the Tang Dynasty as the orthodoxy'. The Nanzhao Kingdom lasted for thirteen generations over more than 250 years, making historic contributions to consolidating the territorial integrity of the motherland and promoting ethnic unity and progress in the southwest region.
A secluded small town 20 minutes from Dali, I lay down in respect
To the south of the colorful clouds, I stay in Weishan
On my first journey of 2024, following the keyword 'less crowded,' I arrived at Weishan—the ancient capital of the Nanzhao Kingdom, the hometown of Zhao Ling'er
Compared to the constant stream of people in Dali, Weishan has an added sense of tranquil contentment. A half-hour walk can cover the ancient city's main street, where you can sit by the roadside watching the elderly pass by, or see cats basking in the sun on the road. A cup of coffee, a book, a cup of strong tea, a bamboo chair, are enough for me to briefly escape the hustle and bustle of the city, to not just stay in a place where I can only see the ceiling, to gain a comfortable peace. Time also slows down here, and I indulge and justifiably become a 'useless person' in this place
If possible, let me take you to Weishan, to together feel the scent of distant mountains and forests, to experience the true south of the colorful clouds
A Different Dali - Weishan Nanzhao Museum - Weishan Ancient Town - Zhuomulang Village
Weishan Yi and Hui Autonomous County in the southern part of Dali Prefecture is the birthplace of the ancient Nanzhao Kingdom, which was a minority regime that rose in the Yunnan region in the eighth century. It was established by the leader Piluoge of Mengshe Zhao in the 26th year of the Kaiyuan era of the Tang Dynasty (738 AD). At the end of the Sui and the beginning of the Tang Dynasty, there were six stronger states around Erhai Lake, each led by a king and collectively known as the 'Six Zhaos.' Among them, Mengshe Zhao was located to the south of the other Zhaos, in what is now Weishan County, and was called 'Nanzhao.' In the 26th year of the Kaiyuan era of the Tang Dynasty (738 AD), with the support of the Tang Dynasty, Piluoge of Mengshe Zhao annexed the other five Zhaos and unified the Erhai region. The Nanzhao regime began from then on until it was destroyed by the descendants of the Tang people in 902 AD.
Visiting Weishan, one must take a look at the Nanzhao Museum to understand the history of the Nanzhao Kingdom. The Nanzhao historical and cultural exhibition is mainly divided into three parts: the first part 'Tracing the Origins of Nanzhao' displays the natural environment of Weishan and the relics and remains of early humans; the second part 'The Great Nanzhao Kingdom' introduces the grand history of the development and expansion of the Nanzhao Kingdom. The third part 'Treasures of Nanzhao' showcases the splendid Nanzhao culture. Among the exhibits are many items of great historical value, such as the silver-wrapped figure staff head from the late Spring and Autumn period, the most revered and worshipped Acuoye Guanyin statue, Buddhist statues unearthed from the national cultural relics protection unit Longwei Tushan, and Ming dynasty wood carvings. Through the visit, one gains a certain understanding of the history and culture of the Nanzhao Kingdom.
Leaving the museum, not far away is the Weishan Ancient Town. As a famous historical and cultural city in China, the ancient town was originally built during the Yuan Dynasty and was rebuilt with bricks during the Ming Dynasty. It was constructed in a well-structured layout, and the houses on both sides of the main north-south axis have largely preserved the architectural style and characteristics of the Ming and Qing dynasties, with the city towers standing tall at both ends. The local customs in Weishan Ancient Town are simple and the cultural heritage is profound. We were fortunate to enjoy the performance of the ancient Nanzhao music by the local ancient music band, which was truly lingering and endless.
There is also an original Yi village - Zhuomulang Village - in the vicinity of Weishan. Passing through small towns and villages, winding around mountain roads, it is very difficult to reach. Perhaps because of the inconvenient transportation and less communication with the outside world, the village still retains its original ecology. However, the journey is not easy, and it is not recommended to make a special trip.
As the backyard of Dali City, Weishan has a profound historical heritage and numerous ancient buildings, while also being very livable and suitable for a slow-paced life. The Xizhou baba and bait block sold at roadside stalls are both delicious and cheap. Later, the prices in Dali and Xizhou were more than double, but the taste was just average. Due to time constraints, I couldn't visit the Taoist Weibao Mountain this time, so I hope to come to Dali for the fourth time in the near future and visit Weishan again.
The ancient city of Weishan is a 'treasure'
The ancient city of Weishan is fresh, clean, transparent, bright, refreshing, and pure!
Visiting here is a by-product, the most important thing is to empty your mind and body from the inside out.
The blue sky, the white clouds, the air quality index of just a dozen or twenty, cool and clean air, coupled with the simple local customs, natural ingredients, and the quaint coffee shops and teahouses all over the streets, such a small town is really a treasure!
Weishan Ancient Town, the birthplace of the Nanzhao Kingdom, comes with a detailed guide
Dali is a city filled with ancient charm, and Weishan Ancient Town is a microcosm of the city's history.
Weishan Ancient Town is also the cradle of the ancient Nanzhao Kingdom.
Through a thousand years, the stone-paved roads of the ancient town bear the marks of time, with each bluestone carrying the stories of the years. Walking on this ancient land, one can appreciate the profound history and extensive culture everywhere.
No matter where you go, it seems as if you can see the passage of time.
Weishan Ancient Town is really a suitable place for leisure, drinking tea, and chatting. The leisurely and slow pace has shaped the Weishan people's calm and peaceful way of life. Strolling through the ancient town is like traveling through a century, with every street and corner bearing witness to the past of the ancient Nanzhao Kingdom.

3️⃣ Jia Zhi Rice Cake Shop⭐️⭐️⭐️
Eat it while it's hot, it's a bit sticky 3r/piece, worth a try

Personally, I think it tastes better with spice, but since I can't eat spicy food I didn't add chili, it tasted not very special, but there's always a long queue, so go early!! Medium set ¥17, quite a good deal
5️⃣ Old Teahouse ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
In the afternoon when it was too hot, I ordered a pot of locust flower tea in the old teahouse, 30/pot
Relaxing under the umbrella, with a gentle breeze... it's the slow life I wanted
👉🏻Fun:
1️⃣ Pioneer Bookstore⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A must-visit! A bookstore built in a courtyard, with many reading and resting areas, outside the glass windows are lush green trees, the combination of books, light, and plants is just super healing!
2️⃣ Wood Carving Horse Experience⭐️⃣⭐️⭐️⭐️
It's actually just brushing ink on a carved wood and then printing the pattern on different colored papers, very simple, but you get the blessing you want, mine was for peace hhh

Mount Wuliang in Dali: I plant a stretch of cherry blossoms for you, so that you won't be outshone by the scattered fireworks of this world

Being there is like bursting into the world of animation in one second. It's so healing! However, in the distant Dali of Yunnan, fate seems to have arranged for us an even more romantic encounter—that is the winter cherry blossoms of Mount Wuliang.

Today, let us embark on this winter cherry blossom rendezvous together and experience the charm of Mount Wuliang in Dali.

It is recommended to buy tickets after 5 pm, you can ask the ticket seller to make a mark, and you can continue to visit the next day.
Photo Spot Recommendations:
Observation Deck: In the evening, it is the perfect place to capture the beauty of the sunset. Against the backlight, the colors of the sunset are as splendid as an oil painting. In the morning, when the first rays of sunlight fall, taking photos of the sunrise against the light becomes an excellent choice for capturing portraits. The soft light is like a natural filter, adding a warm color to the subject, making the portrait more vivid and three-dimensional.
Along the way attractions: Ginkgo Village, Ruili Border Town, Heshun Ancient Town, Nuodeng Ancient Village, Weishan Ancient City, etc.
Nearby Attractions Recommendations
Ruili Border Town: A fusion of multiple ethnic cultures and customs, filled with the aroma of exotic atmosphere.
Heshun Ancient Town: The ancient architecture, winding alleys, and traditional handicrafts all let you feel a strong historical atmosphere.

Weishan Ancient City: Whether it's the traditional white walls and black tiles or the mottled painted walls, they are all eye-catching.
It turns out that cherry blossoms are not exclusive to spring, there is also a cherry blossom season in winter. Mount Wuliang in Dali is the place where spring arrives first, and it is also the place where the fairy sister in 'Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils' lives.

Yunnan Dali Folklore Museum - the only museum that doesn't put exhibits in a safe box
Weishan Folklore Museum is located in Renwen Lane, South Street, Weishan Ancient City, Dali Prefecture, and is a private museum. The predecessor of this museum was the mansion of the eldest daughter of Liang Meisheng, one of the four major families during the Weishan Tusi period (now known as Miss Liang's Mansion). Weishan Folklore Museum has collected more than 30,000 antiques from various dynasties.
The entire museum is divided into different exhibition areas, which are actually rooms in the mansion. Except for the first two rooms, the other rooms are connected. The museum owner said it was a kind of nine-turn skill, I can't remember clearly, constantly opening and closing doors, I can't imagine what the next room will look like. Every time the museum owner opens a room with a key, she explains the antiques on display. There are no display stands, no spotlights, and even they are just randomly stacked and stored, from Shisui culture, Mabang culture, minority culture, Buddhism, Taoism culture to armor horses, wood carvings, strange stones, daily necessities, clothing, music, scientific research... Although it is messy, it is the first time I have seen such a complete collection in a private museum.
Under the explanation of the museum owner, the entire visit lasted about 1.5 hours, and you can also sit in the yard by yourself after the visit.
Although many exhibits are marked as not touchable, the museum owner said that if you want to sit, you can experience the feeling of being an invigilator and let me sit for a while. Everyone who goes there must ask the museum owner where to sit first.
Address: No. 21, Renwen Lane, Nanzhao Town, Weishan Yi and Hui Autonomous County, Dali Prefecture
The experience ticket is 20 yuan per person, don't say the charge is expensive, it's really worth it, okay, the price of a cup of milk tea can get such a shocking visit experience and even accompanied by the museum owner's personal explanation
Wandering through the streets, in the beautiful Nanzhao country
|||Weishan, a historic ancient city..
|||Weishan, a historic ancient city..
I particularly like the Weishan Museum, you must go and check in.
This place is very quaint, drink a bowl of 5 yuan unlimited refill roasted tea, watch the locals play chess. It rained today, walking in the rain on the street, also has a different flavor. Then the sky cleared, overjoyed.
A Gu noodles, also called a single noodle, means that the noodles in the whole bowl are not broken. I think as long as there are many people in the noodle shop here, you can eat. (10 yuan a bowl of small portion) With a fried egg, it's also very good. I ate Zhuji's single noodle.
Wooden horse carving, 5 yuan for a print, very interesting
Snowflake silver, cheaper than the unit price in Dali Ancient City and Xizhou Ancient City, bargaining is almost the same price as buying online, and you can pick your favorite.
Next to the archway of the imperial scholar, there is a small road that leads to the local vegetable market. Experiencing the humanities is my favorite, I bought a cup of 3 yuan rice shrimp, delicious.
Overall, I really like it here, you don't need to make a strategy, the ancient city is very small, open the map, find the places you are interested in and stroll around, you can walk around in two or three hours. If you want to take a literary photo, spend a relaxed afternoon, and experience the cultural shock of ancient times, this place is very suitable for you.

★Star Archway next to the hat brother grilled beef skewers 6 yuan/skewer, cold shrimp ice powder 3 yuan/cup

The facade is not obvious, but once you enter the courtyard, you will find it spacious and bright, where you can eat and sit comfortably, with private rooms. The most important thing is that the taste, quantity, price, and service of the dishes are all quite good (I have to mention the famous Weishan Ancient City's certain Lao Er, which is really annoying, it is quite unpleasant, and I have to be scolded by the waiter during the holiday)
Pickle fried meat, stinky tofu fried with crown daisy, fried peas, braised pork, old lady's potatoes, braised meat cold skin, fried son's vegetables, green vegetable soup~~ can't eat enough
Weishan Ancient City in Dali | After the hustle and bustle, seek a quiet and leisurely place
Weishan Ancient City
To go to Weishan Ancient City, it takes 20 minutes by high-speed train from Dali Railway Station, and the ticket is 22
Before 12 o'clock, you can eat various special breakfasts in Weishan. In the ancient city, Su Lao San's ancient noodles, you can see the process of pulling and boiling noodles, and the taste is not bad, a bowl is 10 yuan.
Weishan Ancient City has not been commercialized yet, it is quiet and comfortable. There are a few cultural and creative shops and cafes opened by people from other places, and most of them are inhabited by locals. You can fully feel the daily life atmosphere of the locals.
The street between Gongchen Tower and Xinggong Tower is the most worth visiting in the ancient city. On this road, you can see the small shop of the grandparents who carve the armor horses, and you can experience the rubbing of the armor horses for 5 yuan.
The most interesting thing is the houses here. There are many narrow doors on the main street. Behind the doors is a long alley. There are several or more than ten households living inside. Each door and each alley is different and has its own characteristics.
🌹Miss Liang's Mansion (Weishan Folk Museum)
It's worth a visit The ticket price is 20. There will be a guide sister holding the key to take you into the mansion and open the doors one by one to show you around and understand the home of the richest daughter in Weishan during the Republic of China.
The mansion has been well preserved for more than 100 years. The interior space design of the attic is very clever. There are more than 20,000 pieces of antique cultural relics. Looking at these cultural relics with explanations, all the historical anecdotes and character traits appear very vividly in front of you
🌹Mengyang Park
It's also worth a visit. Some of the pavilions, waterside pavilions, carved beams and painted buildings inside are super photogenic~
You can also drink tea in the teahouse in the park, a pot of local roasted tea for two or three tens, listening to some local grandparents pulling unknown musical instruments and singing incomprehensible songs, enjoying the relaxed feeling~
A Different Dali - Weishan Wenhua Academy
In January 2024, the second stop of the trip to Dali came to Weishan Yi and Hui Autonomous County. Weishan County is located in the southern part of Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, 53 kilometers away from Dali City, the capital of the prefecture. The expressway from Dali to Weishan was opened in early February 2024, and the high-speed rail or expressway between the two places can be reached within half an hour.
Upon arriving in Weishan, I was deeply attracted by the Weishan Wenhua Academy. The academy building is old as old, the interior layout is atmospheric and orderly, the display is not lacking in fine products, the building and the environment are perfectly integrated, both historical and fashionable. Even the wax plum flower arrangement in the beautifully decorated tea room is so delicate, it is hard to imagine such a delicate and atmospheric place in a small city on the southwestern plateau. After reading the introduction, I understood that in recent years, Tsinghua University and OCT Group have joined forces to repair, manage and operate the academy, allowing the ancient buildings to shine again.
The Wenhua Academy covers an area of about 16,000 square meters and a building area of about 2,800 square meters. It consists of three groups of ancient buildings: Xiao Gongci, Wenhua Academy, and Yuhuang Pavilion. It is a national key cultural relics protection unit. Xiao Gongci, also known as Jiangxi Guild Hall, was built during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, destroyed during the Qing Dynasty, and rebuilt in the 24th year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty. The Wenhua Academy was built in the first year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty, and its main buildings include Yantaifang, Kuixing Pavilion, and Book Collection Building. Yuhuang Pavilion was built in the Ming Dynasty, destroyed during the Xiantong period of the Qing Dynasty, and rebuilt during the Guangxu period.
The academy displays many exhibits of great historical value, such as Yin Ruins oracle bone inscriptions, Yin Shang stone inscriptions, Shang Dynasty jade Xuan bird totem, Northern Wei and Northern Qi Buddhist scriptures stone inscriptions, Liao Dynasty Khitan Buddhist scriptures pictorial relics, Western Xia country scriptures pictorial relics, Tibetan Awen Dunhuang town relics, Ming Dynasty Yi people Bimo scriptures, etc. There are also various types of inkstones of different periods, materials, and shapes, such as turtle inkstones of the Han and Tang dynasties, Liuli inkstones of the Liao and Jin dynasties, and warm inkstones of the Western Xia and Liao dynasties, which are worth careful appreciation.
Weishan is the location of the ancient Nanzhao country, with a deep historical background, to be slowly recorded later.

Weishan two-day tour
Spend the weekend in Weishan for two days.
Depart from Kunming in the morning, now there is a high-speed train which is very convenient, two and a half hours. And the high-speed rail station is very close to the ancient city, a ten-minute taxi ride, it feels like the nearest high-speed rail station. The weather has been very good these two days, the sky is a bit too blue. Although it's not as popular as Dali and Lijiang, but it's not crowded, the experience is good. Day
At noon, Master Kun's dishes are all good, all are signature dishes, the stinky tofu is particularly delicious, you must try it, overall highly recommended. Figure ten
After lunch, we went to the newly opened Pioneer Bookstore, which just opened on December 23rd, this is the third Pioneer I've visited, overall it feels pretty good, the old book academy has been transformed, it has a taste of the combination of old and modern, and we took a lot of photos at the entrance of the bookstore, all the photos are in yesterday's notes, my friend bought two books, and got a stamp, satisfied. Figures three to eight
In the afternoon, we had tea, the owners of this shop are all beautiful ladies, sitting
at the door basking in the winter sun, comfortable, especially recommend the white peach tea,
the taste is refreshing. Figures two and nine
Had grilled milk fan on the roadside.
Had double skin milk at the fresh milk shop, it's just too sweet.
In the evening, we had Fan Ji's hot pot, a large pot for three people, this place is very crowded, we queued for a long time, the taste is heavy and numbing, not bad, the final bill was shocking, so much for a total of 69, must recommend for this cost performance. Figure eleven
After dinner, we started to tour the ancient city at night, walking leisurely in the ancient city under the light, very relaxing.
Day
Slept until naturally awake, got up and basked in the sun in the courtyard of the homestay, had Lao Wang's crossing river rice noodles for lunch, a must eat here, the rice noodles are soft and chewy. Figure twelve The second lunch was at Yuan Shi's mutton shop, we ordered rice noodles, dumplings and pancakes, this place is average. Figure thirteen
After eating, we strolled to the Nanzhao Museum for a visit. Figures fourteen and fifteen Drinking tea on the street. Figure sixteen
The nameless cold roll powder, many locals eat it, very good, must add more rice vinegar, it's in the red bucket in front of the stall. Figures seventeen and eighteen
There are still many delicious foods that we didn't get to eat, we will come again if we have the chance. End of the two-day trip, go back to work
Weishan Ancient City
Coming to Weishan Ancient City in Dali in winter, in addition to feeling the warm spring-like climate, it is a reverence for this ancient city with a history of more than 600 years. The Weishan Ancient City, which was built during the Yuan Dynasty, still retains the well-shaped pattern formed at the beginning of the city's construction. The streets are horizontal and vertical, intersecting with each other, leading in all directions, making today's Weishan Ancient City prosperous.
Tie-dyeing in the ancient city of Weishan, Dali
In the ancient city of Weishan, Dali, Yunnan, there is a street themed on tie-dyeing. The blue and white fabric, after being processed by tie-dyeing, can be turned into a shawl or clothing. 'Tie-dyeing' refers to the process of tying the fabric and dyeing it. The folds formed by the tight circles of the fabric can create various different patterns. Because it is a pure handmade craft, there are no two completely identical tie-dye patterns in the world.
Weishan Ancient City
Dali Weishan Ancient City. The Dali Weishan Ancient City, which was built in the Yuan Dynasty, began to build the earth city by Dali Duan's chief governor, and it was not officially built into a brick city until the Ming Dynasty. The entire county town still maintains the checkerboard layout of the city built more than 600 years ago, and it is one of the best preserved ancient Ming and Qing architectural groups in China. The streets and alleys in the ancient city are crisscrossed, centered on the arch city gate, and the streets are distributed in a well shape. Most of the houses in the ancient city are courtyard-style, maintaining the characteristics of the Dali Bai people's 'three squares and one screen wall', 'four-in-five patio' wooden structure.
Weishan Ancient City 'Qunli Square'
Qunli Square, probably because it was built at the 'Qunli Gate', this square was named 'Qunli Square'.
Most tourists take this as the first stop to visit the Weishan Ancient City, and it is also the gathering and dispersing place for teams.
A tall archway with the four big characters 'Wenxian Mingbang' is the center of the whole square, and the two groups of sculptures on both sides also reflect the spirit of 'collective strategy and collective strength'.
Weishan Ancient City in Dali
Weishan Ancient City
Located at the foot of Ailao Mountain and the source of the Red River, it is the birthplace of the Nanzhao Kingdom and the hometown of the Duan family in Dali, known as 'One Yang Finger'. Historically, it was said to have annihilated 200,000 Tang troops under the city, but the local folklore is that 200,000 Tang troops all married into Weishan City. Therefore, the Bai people never consider themselves a minority. For 600 years, the clouds are light and the wind is light, and the gods are leisurely!
A city that can relax the whole person from the inside out!
National Day Travel - Five Unpopular But Beautiful Villages
With the start of the 'National Day', the annual autumn viewing season officially begins. At this time, the autumn wind has just risen, and the autumn leaves have not yet fallen. This season is the best time to visit ancient towns and villages. As a cultural geography photographer, I recommend five small ancient towns and villages with beautiful autumn scenery that I have photographed. Away from the hustle and bustle, enjoy a moment of quiet and poetic happiness.
⃣Jiangxi Chaguan Village Picture 1
🌟The cover of the Chinese textbook in childhood comes from here! Red maple, old man, raincoat, buffalo, stone bridge, gurgling water, together form a picture like a traditional Chinese painting! You can combine self-driving tours with Shicheng and Huangling Village, and enjoy the beautiful Huizhou autumn scenery.
2⃣Anhui Xili Ancient Village Picture 2
🌟99% of tourists don't know about the small ancient village at the foot of Huangshan. The village is full of Liquidambar formosana forests. In the mountains, there is a village that has nothing to do with the world. This is the best scenery in autumn.
3️⃣ Danba Tibetan Village Picture 3
🌟A paradise hidden in the Hengduan Mountains that is unknown to people. The smoke is curling, the clouds are lingering, together with the valley, stream, and snow-capped mountains, the pastoral song of the Tibetans is stunningly displayed in front of you.
4️⃣Yunnan Weishan Picture 4
🌟This is the site of the Nanzhao Kingdom, and its style remains today. It is a 20-minute high-speed rail journey from Dali Ancient City, and there is more fireworks! More than 600 years of history, Ming and Qing ancient buildings are well preserved, with many historical sites and simple and natural.
5️⃣Xinjiang Bahaba Village Picture 5
🌟Before the popularity of Kanas and Hemu, many people would overlook this beautiful Xinjiang village. If Kanas is a simple paradise, then Bahaba Village is a fairy tale world in the original natural environment.
Are you ready for the National Day holiday?
