Live shots straight from the camera! Dali has been a fairy tale these two weeks🌸||I visit Dali multiple times every year
And the most beautiful season in Dali is undoubtedly autumn and winter
With fiery red maple trees, dancing seagulls, golden ginkgo leaves, and blooming winter cherry blossoms
All concentrated in November and December
Paired with the poetic scenery of Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake
It truly feels like stepping into a fairy tale world
📍Location: Longkan Dock to Haishe Park section, west of Erhai Lake, Dali
📷Equipment: NIKON Z50Ⅱ + 24—70f4 + 28f2.8
🍂Must-visit stunning photo spots in autumn/winter
1️⃣ Chongyi Village
Compared to Longkan Dock, this place has fewer tourists, making it more suitable for peaceful photography. However, with fewer people, there are also fewer seagulls. It's recommended to come here after sunrise to capture those tranquil and beautiful moments.
2️⃣ Longkan Dock
Sunrise, seagulls, and red maple trees - this place has it all, making it one of the most beautiful autumn spots in Dali. Here, you can take in the most beautiful autumn scenery at once. The only downside is the large number of tourists, so you may need patience to wait for the perfect photo opportunity.
3️⃣ Sansheng Island
A place famous for its coffee shop, with many seagulls. Although there are no red maple trees here, it's an excellent spot for sunrise viewing.
4️⃣ Xiabopeng
The lone red maple tree by the lake has become the iconic photo spot here. The key advantage is fewer people and beautiful scenery, making it perfect for photography.
5️⃣ Haishe Park
With a daily limit of 200 visitors, this beautiful scenery belongs only to a lucky few. Remember to make reservations at 6 PM sharp. The lighting at noon is most enchanting - don't miss it.
📷About photography
A great camera is key to beautiful photos. The Nikon Z50Ⅱ camera allows one-touch switching between photographers' filter presets, making it super beginner-friendly. For this shoot, I chose Links' filter (Nature), resulting in natural, layered photos with warm tones that seem to blend the lake and mountain scenery into the images. Even using the same filter, photos taken at different times have unique stories due to changing light and shadows.
The live shots from this shoot also benefited from the camera's auto-focus tracking. Before shooting, just tap the subject on the screen, and the camera will automatically track focus, making it super convenient for moving subjects and eliminating worries about focus issues.
✅✅Practical tips
1️⃣ While sunrise photography in Dali is beautiful, there are too many people. Consider visiting some lesser-known spots first, then head to popular locations after 9-10 AM when the crowd thins out, making photography more comfortable.
2️⃣ Photograph seagulls early in the morning. Once they're full from being fed, they stop flying, significantly reducing photo opportunities.
