The octagonal building (Daifudi) was built in the 35th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1770), covering an area of ​​3,575 square meters. It was built by Ye Bensong, the ancestor of the Ye family in Xiankeng, at a cost of more than ten thousand taels of silver and took 16 years to complete. The octagonal building was actually a quadrangular building in the early stage of its construction, with a layout of four halls and four horizontal sections. Later, in order to resist foreign invasion, a 10-meter-high and 1.5-meter-wide stone wall was added outside the main building. There were watchtowers at the four corners of the wall, and shooting holes were set on the wall and the guard wall. In front of the main building, there is a half-moon fengshui pond covering an area of ​​more than 600 square meters. On both sides of the front end of the pond, there are 1.75-meter-high granite flagpole clamps (used to erect stone dragon flags more than ten meters high during the Qing Dynasty).
