Garni Temple: The temple is located on a cliff in a valley, with a great view and a sense of solitude. Geghard Monastery: The Geghard Monastery is known as the pinnacle of Armenian medieval architecture and was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000. Winery Tasting: Brandy is the national drink of Yerevan, just like Maotai in China. Therefore, you must taste a glass of authentic brandy here. The favorite drink of former British Prime Minister Churchill was Armenian brandy. Khor Virap Monastery: Located at the foot of Mount Ararat, it is a religious holy place in Armenia. It used to be a royal dungeon and is now a pilgrimage site for Christians. You can also overlook Mount Ararat, which is the place where Noah's Ark finally docked in the legend, and it is also the sacred mountain worshipped by Armenians. Republic Square: The largest and oldest square in the center of Yerevan, it is also the gathering place of famous attractions and buildings such as the History Museum, National Bank, Ministry of Finance, National Post Office, Marriott Hotel, etc. The buildings in the square are all made of local red sandstone bricks, which are very distinctive and the center of the entire city. This city is amazing offering free water to everyone. If you feel thirsty you don’t need to go and buy a bottle of water. All you need to do is taking your water cup and filling up with free water from drinkable water fountains or simply drinking from fountains. Second photo is taking in Republic square. Location: Yerevan, Armenia Republic square of Yerevan is charming both at night and daytime. At night it is lit up with beautiful lights. Dancing fountains add another vibe to the square. Summertime it is crowded with lots of people. We went there on Wednesday and no matter it was a weekday but still there were so many people at the square. Daytime you can enjoy the beautiful ornaments on the buildings which are build in pink and yellow tuff. #armenia

Where: Yerevan, Armenia Cascade is a giant stairway in Yerevan which links the downtown area with the Monument neighborhood. The construction started in 1971 and partly completed in around 10 years. There is Gafesjian Museum of Art inside the complex. There are exhibition halls inside the Museum where you can visit both permanent and temporary exhibitions. Besides exterior steps, there are also escalators rising along the length of the complex. Outside of the complex there is a garden where sculptures of contemporary artists are presented. There are number of cafes and restaurants alongside the complex. This is one of the favorite spots both for locals and tourists in Yerevan.

Garni Temple and Geghard monastery - I love visiting both of this beautiful places. By visiting the Garni Temple you’ll see remains of several monuments like the Garni temple itself still standing, the remains of the circular church of Garni, the remains of the palace and audience hall with a bathhouse and the city wall. Most of the building where almost completely ruined after several earthquakes… Also the Tiridates' inscription - which is a pretty big piece of stone with a Greek inscription which was discovered in 1945. The Temple of Garni is the only standing building in Armenia from Greco-Roman colonnaded era. It is one of the best known places in Armenia for tourists to visit, and it is definitely worth it! The building is absolutely gorgeous 😍 It is located in central Armenia in the village of Garni and it is not far from Geghard Monastery and usually people visit both places the same day… Whenever me and my family were going to Geghard Monastery we were almost always also visiting the Garni temple. The Garni temple was completed in first or second century AD. The bathhouse is located to the north of Garni temple. The bathhouse dates to the third century. There was a Roman-style floor with mosaic and heating. So, floor was laid on little columns made of bricks as you can see in the pictures. On the mosaic floor you can steel see some aquatic symbols like a dolphin etc and even see mythological figures like Eros (love) 🤍 There are some greek words - that can be read but the meaning isn’t really clear… If you go there it’s better to have a hide who will tell you a lot of information about everything you will see there. The monastery of Geghard is a renowned ecclesiastical and cultural centre of medieval Armenia, and after all one of my favorite places in Armenia since I was a kid. It is located in the Kotayk province of Armenia. Part of the monastery is carved out of the adjacent mountain surrounded by cliffs. it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site (with enhanced protection status). I’ve been here countless times but still ever time I visit Geghard I still enjoy it and adore the beauty of it. The Temple of Garni #foodie is located in the village of Garni in Kotayk Province, Armenia, and it was once a pagan temple dedicated to the Armenian sun god Mihr. Built in the middle of the 1st century CE, the Temple of Garni remarkably survived the destruction of pagan temples following Armenia's conversion to Christianity in the 4th century CE, and countless invasions and earthquakes until its collapse in 1679 CE. After continuous excavations in the late 19th and early 20th centuries CE, the Temple of Garni was reconstructed between 1969-1975 CE. Today, it is the only free-standing Greco-Roman structure in Armenia and seen by many as a potent symbol of Armenia's classical past as well as its deep historical ties to the civilizations of Greece and Rome.

Yerevan is the magnificent city of Armenia's pulsating heart. The incredible cascade began construction in 1971. It has become everyone's favorite not just because of its expensive high end artworks, but also because of the breathtaking view of Yerevan from the top, with Mount Ararat looming behind Yerevan's iconic pink buildings. It is a great place for young people to congregate for drinks, and it is where a lot of open-air concerts are staged. Zvartnots International Airport is located near Zvartnots, about 15 km west of the capital city of Armenia - Yerevan. The airport was first opened in 1961. In 2011 a new modern departures and arrivals terminal, car-parking with a capacity of 600 vehicles and a government delegation terminal (VIP terminal) were opened. According to different sources about $160 million have been invested in Zvartnots’s reconstruction. The newly built terminal have the capacity to process up to 3.5 million passengers every year. Zvartnots International Airport is the main international airport of Armenia and Yerevan's main international transport hub. In this post I want to tell you a little bit about the old terminal building of the Airport. it was built in the 1970s. The old terminal is the circular terminal. The parking area used to be underneath the bridge serving the Departures. The Arrivals hall was on the lowest floor, it was small and rather narrow. Once, it was the height of luxury with a restaurant high up on the central control tower and views across to the Armenian capital Yerevan. more than 2,500 passengers crowded through the country's most modern airport terminal every hour. Khor Virap is an Armenian monastery located in the Ararat Plain in Armenia. Khor Virap means deep dungeon. In the year 301, Armenia was the first country in the world to be declared a Christian nation. Khor Virap is the place where it all began. Gregory the Illuminator was initially imprisoned here for about 14 years by King Tiridates III of Armenia. Subsequently Saint Gregory became the king's religious mentor, and they led the proselytizing activity in Armenia. The reason why it is called Khor Virap (deep dungeon) is the pit underneath St. Gevorg Chapel. where Gregory was imprisoned. There are two pits inside the chapel, Grigor's is the farther one, 6 metres (20 ft) deep and 4.4 metres (14 ft) wide. Nowadays every single visitors can go down into the pit. However before doing it please remember that it is 6 meters deep and just 4 meters wide. Garni Temple was beautiful. With a greco roman architecture style, the temple was a place to worship the fire god. It has the oldest mosaic in the world right next to a hot spring bath. Our tour guide also drove us to a nearby mountain scape, which was amazing. Garni Temple is one of my favorite places. The Location of the Temple is magical. I recommend this place to everyone who wants to visit Armenia. It's not far from the city center. This is an incredible Pagan Temple which also served as the summer retreat of the ancient Armenian king. Today, it is thronged by tourists from all walks of life and is undoubtedly one of the three UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Armenia along with the Geghard Monastery.#nationalpark

Before my first visit to Armenia, the only thing I knew about the city was Yerevan Cascade. It’s funny to think about it now as after all these years and numerous visits Yerevan is in the very top of my favorite places and I try to return there frequently. And no visit is completed without going to the Cascade Yerevan complex. It’s usually one of the first places I go to! Looking at the city from the top of the Cascade in one of my favorite things to do in Yerevan. The Yerevan Cascade is located in the northern part of the city center, not far from the Opera, at Tamanyan street. Even if the Cascade is in a straight line from the Opera you need to go around to get there as there is no street crossing at Moskovyan street in front of the Cascade complex. You will find the nearest crossings at the corners of Moskovyan street and Marshal Baghramyan Avenue and Moskovyan street with Mesrop Mashtots Avenue. The nearest metro stations are Yeritasardakan (650 meters) and Marshal Baghramyan (1 kilometer). Republic Square is 1,6 kilometer away from the Cascade. To get to the top of the Cascade you might walk up all the 572 stairs but it can get tiring, especially on a warm and sunny day. Fortunately, inside the Cascade, you will find the escalator that will take you all the way to the second to last level. The ride is free of charge and along the way you can admire some modern artworks. The entrance is on your left side when looking at the Cascade. You might also take the taxi and go all the way to the Memorial of the 50th anniversary of Soviet Armenia and then walk down from the Cascades. Yandex Taxi from the Republic Square should cost around 700 AMD.#nationalpark
