Shenzhen Zhongshan Park—Don't Miss It This Weekend!
Located near Line 12 of the Shenzhen subway in Nanshan District, Zhongshan Park really shocked me the first time I went!
The park is huge, much bigger than the small corner you see through the white gate while waiting for the bus. When I first entered, I felt like I could see the whole thing, but I was confused about where the large green lawns mentioned in other articles were. With this question in mind, I walked deeper into the park.
The weather was great on Sunday, and there were many people on the lawn lying on picnic blankets, playing games, sleeping, and reading. I was especially shocked to see many retired people gathered together singing Peking opera, dancing to music, four or five elderly women happily rehearsing a dance in front of the camera, a grandpa live-streaming classic old songs, and a grandpa playing the saxophone on the lake… Amazing! Their lives are so rich!
In addition, the greenery throughout the park is very well-maintained, as shown in the picture. The tree on the lawn near the entrance is actually a 100-year-old banyan tree! I also saw my old acquaintance, Mr. Lin Zexu. I remembered that I had seen his sculpture elsewhere before and thought about the reason why his life journey and mine are "exactly the same," haha, also from Fujian to Guangzhou. "How can I avoid danger for the sake of my country's welfare?"
Every morning, I wait for the bus to the Science Park at the gate of the park. Every time I look at the tall white gate, I think about going in for a run next time. After thinking about it for two months, I finally went this weekend.
