Strolling Around Rukhi Fortress
#summervacay So I ended up at Rukhi Fortress (or Rukhis Tsikhe) kinda randomly while exploring around Zugdidi, and wow totally worth the detour. This place has that quiet, mysterious energy, like it’s been through a lot (spoiler: it has). It’s an old stone fortress, super rustic, but that’s what makes it cool.
The walk up to it is mellow, nothing crazy, just fields, trees, and birds chirping. The fortress itself isn’t crowded at all, so you basically have the whole vibe to yourself. Great for wandering, climbing a bit, or just imagining old-timey battles (if you're into that kinda thing).
There’s a pretty awesome view from the top, especially at sunset when everything turns golden and dramatic. The whole place is peaceful, with zero noise except wind and maybe a cow or two nearby.
Not flashy, not touristy, but that’s the charm. If you’re near Zugdidi and want something different, slow, and kinda magical, Rukhi Fortress is your spot. Perfect for history lovers or daydreamers alike.
