The city’s highlight is the Pula Arena, a Roman amphitheater that stands as one of the best-preserved ancient structures in the world. ✈I drove around Croatia on National Day. During the 11-day trip, I visited all the basic classic scenes. The last issue talked about the Zagreb-Split line, and this issue shares the rest of the itinerary. 👑Sibenik (Picture 3-5) The next stop in Split is Sibenik, which takes 2 hours by car, but I arranged a day. Because you will pass through Kaštera (Picture 1) and Trogir (Picture 2) on the way. 🔺There is a water castle in Kaštera, which is also a filming location for the Game of Thrones. 🔺I don’t have a good impression of Trogir. There are too many tourists at noon, and the city layout is very similar to Split. The cathedral is inexpensive and worth a visit. You must park outside the old town (1.5 euros per hour) and 4 euros per hour in the old town. 🔺Sibenik has relatively fewer people, and it is a "mountain town" with many medieval streets that are different from other cities. It is very suitable for staying one night and strolling around. Sibenik Cathedral is also a world cultural heritage. We did not enter it, which was a pity. 👑Rovinj (Picture 6-7) It takes nearly 5 hours to get from Sibenik to Rovinj. 🔺Rovinj and Venice face each other across the sea, and the old towns are both colorful. However, the area is very small, so you can walk around and see it all in 2 hours. 🔺I recommend two places to stay. The first one is the outlying island opposite the old city, Maistra Select Island Hotel Katarina. It has the best view for shooting the old city and you can snorkel right on the beach. 🔺The other one is the Maistra Select Family Hotel Amarin, a 5-minute drive north. Similar to Clubmed, breakfast, lunch and dinner are all-inclusive, and childcare is included. All entertainment facilities are free. There is a long coastline outside the hotel, where you can swim in the sea and view the old city from a distance. Those who don’t stay can also come here to play. 👑Pula & Porezzi (Picture 8-11, Picture 12-13) Stayed in Rovinj for 2 nights and went to Pula and Poreč one day. 🔺Pula has one of the only 6 remaining Roman arenas in the world, which is very well preserved. The arena ticket is 30 euros, which is worth entering, and the parking lot next to it is free on weekends. 🔺You can walk to the Temple of Augustus from the Arena, which takes about 20 minutes. It only looks good on the outside, but not worth entering. 🔺Porezi has the World Cultural Heritage Euphrasian Cathedral Complex. This church built in the fourth century AD has a rather simple appearance, but the mosaics inside are quite stunning. It takes 2 hours to visit this scenic spot, so it is worth a special trip. 👑Samobor (Picture 14-15) Because we had to return the car to Zagreb Airport on the last day, we booked a hotel here for the day before (20 minutes from the airport). 🔺Quite a surprise, the architectural style is very fairy tale, with colorful houses, wooden bridges over streams, and flowers hanging in front of the windows, it looks very much like those fairy tale towns on the German-French border. 🔺Cheap prices and the best specialty cakes in Croatia.

Unlike the Colosseum in Rome, this theatre has all four pillars completely intact which makes for a beautiful stunning picture. You can also visit the halls underneath the main arena, to see where the animals and amphoras were stored. Try not to visit during the heat of the day at noon or you might get toasted!

Pula is such a delightful city. The ruins were absolutely stunning and incredible to take in. They have events going on often if you’re lucky to be around during one. We had so much fun walking around. The underground tunnels were so cool to visit as well. There were a ton of great places to eat and shop, everything is easily walkable. Highly recommend for solo, couples, and families.
