Originally wanted to go to Binjiang Forest to take pictures of hydrangeas, but since dogs are not allowed, I came to this less crowded, beautiful, and niche village instead, located in Qingpu on the outskirts of Shanghai, close to Jiashan, just over an hour's drive from the city center. We have experienced to stay at this Citic Pacific (zhujiajiao) hotel. It is a nice hotel and very near Zhujiajiao, we took like 10 minutes walking to ancient town. The room is big and clean. Hotel is located nearby the lake… it is a strong wind at night. The afternoon tea lake hall is so busy, need to reserve early.

The Qingpu District of Shanghai offers a lot of possibilities for Kayaking. It is really relaxing to paddel through the canals, passing by some small local villages. The canals connected several small lakes and Qianshan Lake as well.

Traditional Watertown food is a must when visiting Shanghai on vacation. As our friend visited from the UK, we headed to Zhujiajiao for the day, with the first stop at our favorite food spot. Hidden away in the lanes of Zhujiajiao Shanghai is the best Tibetan restaurant in Shanghai. The little restaurant has a menu packed full of delicious Yak meat dishes, teas and homemade alcohols. Our favorites were the Yak ribs, the spicy potato bites and the yak cheeses. The tea is very sweet, but worth trying. it's very similar to an Indian masala tea. In the downstairs there is seating over the water and upstairs there is traditional floor tables, tapestries and tibbetan clothing decorating the venue. To find the restaurant. The Wanshou Pagoda in Qingpu District, Shanghai, was built in the eighth year of the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty (1743). Touch: For those wanting a memonto, there are jewelry and art shops a plenty, most willing to o let you touch and try on their wears. Hear: Friendly locals will invite you into their tea/coffee shops to enjoy their offerings. Taste: There is so much food on offer, I'lp name my favorites. When in a water town, the best way to get a true touristy experience is to take the boat tour. There are 5/6 Official boat quays, where you should be able to buy tickets and board the boats. After 3 different visits to Zhujiajiao, the reliability of the quays have varied, especially around meal times, but we have always had joy getting the boats from the wharf next to the Starbucks. The boat will take you under the 5 arch bridge and then North or South depending on your preference. I'd recommend heading North if you want to explore the more crowded area without needing to bustle through the crowds or South if you want to head into to the area of the town where more locals live. #shanghaitrip

Out-of-town tourists like the bustling and stylish Shanghai city center. And local residents prefer the lingering charm of the water towns in the suburbs. In Qingpu, Shanghai, there is a tranquil water town. Zhujiajiao Ancient Town is naturally prominent, and during holidays and festivals, tourists come in endless streams. And this Qu Water Garden hidden in Qingpu City is so beautiful, yet surprisingly few tourists visit! Little did people know that Qushui Garden, with a history of more than 230 years, is one of the five classical gardens in Shanghai, alongside Yuyuan Garden near the Bund, Guyi Garden in Nanxiang, Qiuxiapu Garden in Jiading, and Zuibaichi Garden in Songjiang. The Qushui Garden is located at No. 612 Park Road, Qingpu District, Shanghai. It was first built in the tenth year of the Qing Emperor Qianlong. It is said that in order to build this garden, one penny was collected from every resident in the city, so it is also called "Yiwen Garden". Later, pavilions and towers were added and subtracted one after another. Because the garden is next to Dayingpu, it was renamed Qushui Garden in the third year of Jiaqing, taking the meaning of "drinking wine by the winding stream" from Wang Xizhi's "Preface to the Orchid Pavilion Collection". It was destroyed by artillery fire during the Xianfeng period and was repaired and expanded during the Guangxu period. In the park, there are beautiful views in all seasons. Enjoy winter sweet and magnolia flowers in spring, lotus leaves in summer, red maple and golden osmanthus trees (100-year-old osmanthus tree) in autumn, and bask in the warm sun under ancient trees in winter. This beautiful garden used to charge a five yuan admission fee. Now it's unexpectedly free and open to the public, becoming the backyard of nearby residents. It's really such a blessing. If you visit Zhujiajiao or Wanda Mall, why not stay here for a while? If you drive by, you can park at the nearby Qiaozhiwan Shopping Center or Qingpu Hotel. If you take the subway, take Line 17 to Qingpu New City Station, then take Bus 17 to Zhongyiyuan or Baoqing Street and walk for 5 minutes to get here.
