The cheapest JW Marriott!
The cheapest JW Marriott?
Opened in 2019, the details are already old. The location is right next to the Confucius Temple, with several two-story buildings. I specifically asked for a room in the southeast corner. After check-in, they called to ask if there were any problems or requests, which was very thoughtful. The waiters in the hotel are generally enthusiastic. The gym is very small and the lighting is dim. It takes half an hour to get to Jinan by high-speed rail, but it's very unreasonable to take a taxi at Qufu East Station.
Confucius Museum, Qufu
It is nice place to learn about Confucius, well organized, with clear directions to follow, and with online guide.
Every hall has an introduction in double language including English, unfortunately the single things on show only have Chinese tags.
How to get there: I suggest by taxi since is not in the historical downtown, it is located not far from the West High Speed Train Station….so I did visit it before to board the train back to Shanghai.
Is a modern museum which greatly shows the excellent traditional Chinese culture represented by Confucianism.

Behind the hall, the tombstone of Confucius is placed, which were engraved with "Dacheng Zhisheng Wenxuan 大成至圣文宣王墓 (Lord's Tomb). In the East is the tomb of Kong Li, his son; before that, it is the tomb of Kong Ji (Zisi), his grandson.

The are tombs of more than 100,000 descendants of Confucius who have been buried there over a period of about 2000 years (I saw a very new tomb - last photo, so it means descendants of Confucius are still buried here). Over 1000 green cypresses and pine trees lining up on both sides of the road, many of them were planted in the Song and Yuan Dynasties. A road runs from the north gate of Qufu to the exterior gate of the cemetery, easy to get there just walking.

The steps on the steps of the icon are full of people's wish cards. It is said that many candidates will make a wish before the exam. The university hall built on the mountain is magnificent, and the contents are more abundant. The art exhibits, the performance of "Jinsheng Yuzhen", and the hand-written analects, hand-painted fans and rabbits that visitors can personally participate in can be said to be the scenic spots of Nishan. The essence is.

Similarly, I am responsible for copying the Analects and I am responsible for watching. However, in the process of copying, I have been reading it for "Knowledge is known, I don't know if I don't know, I know it." Chinese studies and inheritance are not overnight. In the university hall, many children wear Chinese clothes and carefully copy and study. Still feel beautiful and very cute.
"Golden Sound Yuzhen", shocking the body and mind: In the Nishan Holy Land University Hall, the large indoor ritual performance "Golden Sound Yu Zhen" shocked me! The perfect combination of sound, light, electricity, poetry, music and dance, the changing stage set, character shape, rhythm and relaxation of the plot, interpretation of "the Confucius of the world" and "the world of Confucius", will "the life of Mingli The stage version of the "way" is perfectly conveyed. The joy of transferring trains - the Three Confucian Sites in Qufu.
After the Rizhao trip, we took a train from Junan North to Qufu East to transfer back to Beijing, and enjoyed the joy of transferring trains again.
We arrived at Qufu East at 10:00 am and stored our luggage in a shop outside. A friend of ours negotiated the price, and in the end, each of us paid only CNY 8. This is a good idea for future reference.
There are buses to the Three Confucian Sites at the train station. People over 60 can take the bus for free by swiping their ID cards. The fare is CNY 1, and you can pay by scanning a WeChat code. Alipay is not available. We experienced the "hospitality of Shandong."
We got off at the main entrance of the Temple of Confucius and visited the sites along the central axis to the north. Over the years, I have visited many Confucius temples, and this time I came to the place of origin.
After finding two places with distinctive architectural features, "Gou Xin" (Figure 15) and "Dou Jiao" (Figure 16), I was satisfied and went to the Kong Family Mansion.
What impressed me most about the Kong Family Mansion was the "cold bench."
The Temple of Confucius in Qufu, the Forbidden City, and the Chengde Mountain Resort are known as the three major ancient architectural complexes in China. In 1961, the Temple of Confucius, the Kong Family Mansion, and the Cemetery of Confucius became the first batch of "national key cultural relics protection units." In 1994, they were listed as a "World Cultural Heritage" by UNESCO, and in 2007, they were rated as the first batch of 5A tourist attractions in China.
After visiting the Kong Family Mansion, everyone was a little tired. Some took a taxi to the Cemetery of Confucius, and some took a taxi to Nishan Sacred Land. They bought the latest high-speed train back to Beijing.
I really wanted to go to Nishan Sacred Land, but I didn't have time, so I left it for another time when I have the opportunity to transfer trains.
Qufu Nishan Academy Hotel.

Qufu, Jining.
Qufu, Jining | Yan Temple, the Temple of the Repeated Sage, a disciple of Confucius who never changed his joy
Qufu Yan Temple, also known as the Temple of the Repeated Sage, is a temple dedicated to Yan Zi and is listed as a national key cultural relic protection unit. Yan Temple is divided into three routes and five courtyards, with 24 buildings from the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, totaling 159 rooms. There are 53 stone inscriptions from the Jin, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties.
Yan Zi, also known as Yan Hui, courtesy name Ziyuan, was Confucius' most accomplished disciple. Confucius once praised Yan Zi, "How virtuous is Hui! With a single bamboo basket of food and a single gourd of drink, he lives in a humble alley. Others cannot bear such hardship, but Hui never changes his joy. How virtuous is Hui!" When Emperor Gaozu of Han offered sacrifices to Confucius with the highest level of ceremony, he also offered sacrifices to Yan Hui, who was ranked first among the seventy-two sages. During the Wei, Jin, and Southern and Northern Dynasties, when the state held Buddhist ceremonies, Confucius was honored as the First Sage and Yan Hui as the First Teacher. Emperor Taizong of Tang also honored Confucius as the First Sage and Yan Zi as the First Teacher, while Emperor Xuanzong of Tang honored him as the Sub-Sage and Duke of Yan, Emperor Zhenzong of Song conferred him the title of Duke of Yan, and Emperor Wenzong of Yuan honored him as the Duke of Yan and the Repeated Sage. In the ninth year of the Jiajing reign of the Ming dynasty, he was renamed the Repeated Sage.
The main hall, the Hall of the Repeated Sage, enshrines a statue of Yan Zi. It was first built in the Yuan dynasty, with surrounding corridors supported by stone columns. The four columns in the front corridor are carved with cloud dragons, while the four side columns are carved with dragons, phoenixes, and flowers, which are relics from the Ming dynasty. Inside the hall hangs a plaque inscribed with "Purely Embodying the Sage" by Emperor Qianlong of the Qing dynasty. The original site of the humble alley had an ancient well, which was said to be used by Yan Zi, hence the name "Yan Zi Well." During the Xining reign of the Song dynasty, "Kong Junzonghan, the governor of Jiaoxi, first obtained the land, dredged and repaired the well, and built a pavilion on top of it."
You can always trust the cultural heritage of the Three Confucian Sites in Qufu!
Qufu, the hometown of Confucius, is known as the "Eastern Holy City." The "Three Confucian Sites" here—Kong Mansion, Confucius Temple, and Confucius Cemetery—are sacred places for commemorating Confucius and promoting Confucianism throughout Chinese history. Confucius Temple is a temple dedicated to Confucius, Kong Mansion is where the direct descendants of Confucius lived, and Confucius Cemetery is the burial ground of Confucius and his family. In 1994, the "Three Confucian Sites" were listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Amazing day in Qufu!
Pinrui Qufu International Convention Center Hotel
【Introduction】: It's about 15 yuan by taxi from Qufu East High-Speed Railway Station. The hotel has been open for half a year, and I came here based on the ratings. It is indeed excellent. The parking lot is large, and it is 3 kilometers away from the center of the Three Confucian Sites, making it a good hotel in a quiet area. In the morning, you can ride a shared bike to the Wanren Palace Wall to watch the opening ceremony at 8 o'clock, visit the Three Confucian Sites, and stroll around Liaohou Ancient Street in the evening. It's very nice.
🏨【Hotel Address】: Pinrui Hotel, Confucius International Convention Center, Qufu, Jining
🌆【Decoration Style】: New hotel. I stayed in a family room. The smart assistant can control the TV, lights, air conditioning, and curtains, giving it a high-tech atmosphere.
🚌【Transportation Guide】: We took the high-speed train and got off at Qufu East Station. The taxi fare was 18 yuan. When we arrived at the hotel, we found that the parking lot was quite large and easy to park. If we had known, we would have driven. It is recommended to park your car at the hotel because the center and attractions are too congested. There are many shared electric bikes here. According to the map, it is 3 kilometers from the Three Confucian Sites, about 3-4 intersections away.
🏨【Check-in Method】: There is a self-service check-in machine at the front desk. Seeing that the front desk was busy, I checked in myself. The service was excellent. The manager was very enthusiastic, helped with luggage, opened the door, introduced the surroundings, and even gave us a local guide!
🍩【Restaurant Features】: The hotel has not been open for long and provided us with breakfast. The buns and fried dough cakes were handmade. There are not many places to eat nearby, so it saved us the trouble of finding a place to eat.
🏬【Nearby Attractions】: Confucius Museum - This place is free. Liaohou Ancient Street - It's nice to stroll around here at night, but it can be a bit crowded. Nishan Sacred Land Scenic Area - This is a separate scenic area, a bit far from Qufu, but the attractions provide Nishan tickets and shuttle services.
🧡【Tips】: Overall, it was a very pleasant trip, and the kids loved it.

Pay homage to the sage at the millennium-old site.
The Confucius Temple in Qufu, Shandong, is one of the attractions within the 'Three Confucius Sites' (Confucius Temple, Confucius Forest, and Confucius Mansion). It was first built in 478 BC and has a history of 2,500 years. Over the centuries, emperors have expanded and renovated it to its current scale to honor Confucius. The Dacheng Hall, resembling the Hall of Supreme Harmony in the Forbidden City, is the core structure of the Confucius Temple. Surrounding it are ancient towering trees, numerous archways, the Apricot Altar where Confucius taught, and many historical imperial inscriptions. The vast layout, akin to that of a royal palace, highlights Confucius's esteemed status. Visitors can pay homage to the sage at this millennium-old sacred site.

The Three Confucian Sites in Qufu, encompassing the Confucius Temple, Confucius Mansion, and Confucius Forest, are the spiritual sanctuaries of Confucian culture in China. Walking through this scenic area, one can feel the weight of a thousand years of history, as if hearing the ancient disciples reciting their scriptures. The Confucius Temple is grand and solemn, with exquisite stone carvings and decorations that reflect deep respect for Confucius.
The Confucius Mansion, the residence of Confucius' descendants, is meticulously arranged and impressively majestic, showcasing the glory and elegance of the Confucius family through the ages. It houses a vast collection of precious artifacts and documents, providing a deeper understanding of the enduring legacy of Confucian culture. The Confucius Forest, where Confucius and his descendants rest, is lush, serene, and tranquil, like a hidden paradise that inspires awe and peace.
The Three Confucian Sites in Qufu carry the millennia-old thoughts and culture of Confucianism. This journey not only deepened my appreciation for ancient Chinese culture but also prompted me to reflect on the value and meaning of life. Here, history and reality intertwine, and the wisdom and spirit of Confucian thought continue to shine brightly through the ages.
