The broth is very fragrant and flavorful, with a rich but not overpowering curry flavor. The beef Khao Soi has a perfect combination of meat and broth; it feels like I'm eating in Chiang Mai! 😋 Because the owner is from Chiang Mai, the flavors are authentically Northern Thai. They also have delicious Nam Prik Ong (Northern Thai chili paste). The service is also excellent. The atmosphere is great. ⛰️🥬 The mornings are absolutely wonderful. You can take a stroll in the hotel's very own organic, chemical-free vegetable garden. The chef mentioned that the veggies grown right here are used for the restaurant's salad bar! Some of the main ingredients used in the kitchen are harvested fresh from this garden, which is simply fantastic. ✨ For breakfast, we dined at the hotel's "Krua Tor Khao" restaurant (they don't use any MSG in their food). Super healthy! 🥬 ⏰ Breakfast is served from 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM. There's a wide variety of food to choose from. For rice, they offer both steamed white rice and brown rice, along with a great selection of side dishes. There's also rice porridge, fresh fruits, pastries, coffee, Patongo (deep-fried dough sticks), and orange juice. 💖 My absolute favorite part was the egg station! You can custom-order your eggs just the way you like them—sunny-side up, Thai-style omelet, or a Western omelet—served with sausage and ham. I went back for multiple rounds of omelets. Honestly, if a hotel has a good omelet station, it instantly wins me over! 💤🛏️ As for our room, we got one with a perfect view of the garden, the lawn, and the swimming pool. The vibrant green contrasting with the bright blue sky was so refreshing to wake up to. Wat Mahathat Worawihan, Ratchaburi 🌳 Vibe/Location: This was my first time visiting, and there are multiple entrances. We went on a weekday, so it wasn't too crowded. If you go on weekends or holidays, expect a massive crowd. Our first stop was to pay respects to the back-to-back Buddha statues. Flowers, incense, and candles are provided. Afterward, we strolled around the inner grounds of the grand stupa (Mahathat), which is surrounded by Buddha statues. Stepping inside gave me literal goosebumps—it felt so sacred and mystical! You can also climb up to the top of the stupa. The temple grounds are lush, shady, and filled with trees. The resident nuns are extremely welcoming and offer great advice. Wat Nong Hoi is located in Khao Raeng Subdistrict, Mueang Ratchaburi District, Ratchaburi Province. It's an ancient temple built during the reign of King Rama V, after devoted locals donated land in the Nong Hoi village area for its construction. The villagers naturally named it after the village, which is how it became known as Wat Nong Hoi today. The temple spans two different mountain peaks. The first is Guanyin Bodhisattva Peak, home to a highly revered statue of the Goddess of Mercy. It's widely rumored to be incredibly sacred, and praying here is said to make your wishes come true. The other side is the Big Buddha Peak, where Phra Phuttha Rattanakosin Mahamuni—affectionately known by locals as "Luang Pho Yai" (The Great Buddha)—is enshrined. This massive Buddha statue is actually the namesake of the peak and can be seen from miles away as you drive up. Luang Pho Yai sits majestically atop the vihara (shrine hall), offering breathtaking panoramic views of the mountains below. There’s a genuine kindness here that feels unforced; locals smile easily, offer help without hesitation, and make you feel welcome in a way that’s hard to find in more crowded destinations. The views are stunning all the way, perfect for a leisurely stroll and taking beautiful photos. There are plenty of photo opportunities along the way. A popular activity for couples and families is pedal boating (approximately 40-50 baht), offering close-up views of the mountains from the middle of the water. The area around the docks is teeming with fish, and you can buy fish food to feed them. 🔆Additionally, you can pay respects to the walking Buddha statue, a beautiful and sacred image carved into a large rock cliff, located nearby. 🕘The park is open 24 hours a day, but it's recommended to visit between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM. A relaxing getaway close to Bangkok—today we drove to Ratchaburi. Before heading to other attractions, we stopped by downtown Ratchaburi first. We looked for a cool place to visit and came across this ceramic factory. They have both display pieces and handmade ceramic works for sale. The pieces here are colorful, beautiful, and truly one of a kind. If you enjoy home decor and are looking for vases or unique sculptures, I’d definitely recommend stopping by. Besides taking photos, you’ll probably end up bringing something nice home too. 🔥There is no admission fee.
