For my personally this is the best spot for sunset. During my stay in Shandong for 2 years I have never experienced such a beautiful sunset like the one here. I took a bike from Shanxian to the lake and it took me 40 minutes. You can take a walk and explore the island over there. Or simply can sit and enjoy your time. There is a little zoo for children as well. So kids also can be occupied for some time #sunset

The park is built along the Donggou River, bordering Shunshi Road to the south, Xiangyang Road to the north, and Yuanyi Road to the east, covering 470 mu. Park facilities: the park is divided into several scenic areas, including Jianshan Lake, Youth Park, Jianshan Ancient Charm, and the Spring and Autumn Garden. Jianshan Park showcases Shan County regional culture such as "Shan Fu", "Empress Lü", "Gudui", "Bao Gong catching demons", and "the Four Gentlemen", highlighting the full integration of local culture with natural landscape features. It's bold and vibrant; once you visit, you won't want to leave. You'll be completely immersed in the simple charm of the "Peony Capital of China." Exclusive accommodation tips based on personal experience: 1. If you have a limited budget, prioritize chain hotels near Zhonghua Road in Mudan District. They cost CNY 180–300 per night, are located downstairs from a commercial area, and offer convenient access to Caozhou Peony Garden and other attractions, making them much more cost-effective than guesthouses around scenic spots. 2. If you want to stay in a themed inn near Yuncheng Water Margin Hero City, book at least a week in advance. Weekends in August and September are quite popular, so be sure to confirm if breakfast and parking are included. 3.
