The southernmost point on the Romanian Black Sea coast just happens to be party central. Vama Veche is the place where ageing hippies and bearded hipsters commingle, let their hair down and bond over beers and beach. 'Vama' has stubbornly resisted attempts by developers to drag it upmarket and still retains a whiff of counterculture rebellion – a rep it developed in the '80s when it was a haven for artists, hedonists and free thinkers. That said, don't come looking for peace and quiet. Vama can get impossibly crowded in July and August. Instead, this is the place to dance all night and sleep it off on the beach the next day.

#OctoberGoodDestinations2024 National Museum of Bukovina This is one of the best museums in Romania. Not only is it original and comparable to first-class places abroad in terms of curatorial presentation, but the heritage of artifacts from thousands of years ago or old books themselves is also worth visiting. Everything in the museum is translated into English and the museum is organized chronologically, starting with the Cucuteni culture and even earlier, moving through antiquity, the Middle Ages, modern times, and all the way to the present era and beyond. Some of the history is a little sketchy, but visitors are sure to gain an impressively clear and coherent understanding of Bukovina's past. Archaeology enthusiasts will definitely like this place, highly recommended.

#OctoberGoodDestinations2024 The Suceava Fortress is the most important tourist attraction in the city center, it is a historical monument worth visiting, it is well organized and modern, and it is an easy way to learn more about history. There are two ways to get to the fort, you can park your car under the downtown park area and walk all the way through the forest to the fort, or you can drive directly to the fort parking lot. Events and performances are held here at certain times, and large numbers of tourists come to visit. There is also the village museum nearby which shows what the houses looked like in the past and how people lived in the past. Quite an interesting place, worth visiting, highly recommended.
