For convenience during my trip, I found a hidden gem of a guesthouse on Pingjiang Road this time. Walking along Cangjie Street from Xiangmen Subway Station, just as I turned into Dingxiang Alley, I saw Songzhiyu 3 Pingjiang Road Guesthouse. The location is convenient; you can take a taxi directly to the entrance. The courtyard is deep, with tall trees and a three-story building that was formerly an elementary school. Now it's a guesthouse, a cafe, and a tea house. They also offer Qipao dress-up. I stayed in the Bamboo Rocking King Room. It was quiet and comfortable, with a mini-bar and welcome fruit. It's stylish and modern, yet retains the overall architectural style of ancient Jiangnan. Nearby Ouyuan Garden, Humble Administrator's Garden, and Lion Grove Garden are all within walking distance. Paying around 100 yuan for Yuantouzhu admission without the flower sea means just ordinary lake water and greenery, not much different from a regular city park. Spring and summer’s rainy season brings continuous rain and fog, making Taihu Lake look gray and dull, ruining photos.
