I visited Syria 9 days after the Syria earthquake. it was supposed to be sight seeing tour but we changed plan and decided to distribute aids to show some love and support to locals. I been affected by the media and Syria is a very dangerous place to visit but the war ended ages ago. Syria is a very safe place to visit. People are extremely friendly and kind. Whenever they see foreigners, they welcome you with a smile. The smile that the little kids you could see when you give them a candy will melt your heart. People have little but they are generous. If you face any issues, they do their best to help you. They have a tough live but they believe in hope. To visit Syria, you must join a tour, there is actually a lot to see, Syria is rich in culture and history, I learnt a lot from visiting Syria. What I like most about Syria is that there is no tourism industry. This gave me the opportunity to experience real local life and feel the warm welcome of the locals. On any given day I can walk into a thousand-year-old castle without a ticket. I get to explore the hidden treasures of the countryside that haven’t been developed as tourist attractions. I can taste rich old-fashioned ice cream with the locals in a century-old shop. I can stay in a century old hotel for $6. One day, an old lady suddenly stopped and said "merhaba!" to me, then kissed me on the cheek like I was a precious China doll. Wherever I go, people always say to me “Welcome to Syria!”

Near the once glorious five-star hotel on the top of the mountain that is now destroyed, I only feel endless sighs. 📍Maloula, originally a charming town located in western Syria, is famous for its rich religious and historical heritage. This town is an Armenian-style town with thousands of years of history and is an important holy place for Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. ⛰️Maloula has a unique landscape: the town is surrounded by mountains, and the magnificent canyons and cliffs are breathtaking. Against this magnificent backdrop, many religious buildings and ruins have witnessed the vicissitudes of history and the prosperity of religion. The most famous attraction is the Maloula Monastery, an important religious center for the Orthodox Church on the cliff. We climbed to the monastery on foot, admiring the spectacular scenery; entering the monastery, we were shocked by the ancient architecture and exquisite murals, immersed in a quiet atmosphere.
