Dujiangyan is located to the west of Chengdu. It gets its name from the famous Dujiangyan Irrigation System. It’s a little pricey, but we are talking about a massive indoor venue that has to make their own snow. It’s all year skiing and snowboarding so I guess you should be willing to pay the price. It’s less than what you would pay for a lift ticket and rental in Colorado 😁. Things you should know: 1) There is one Blue run that turns into a Green. 2) There is one chair lift and several magic carpets. 3) The price includes the lift ticket, pants and jacket, helmet, boots, ski/snowboard rental and a locker. It doesn’t include gloves, goggles, or face gear. You will won’t gloves and face gear, but can do without goggles…no sun or enough speed generated to need them. If you forget your gloves and face gear they are available for purchase at several shops within the building. 4) The equipment is beginner quality so don’t have high expectations of carving it up, they are rentals. 5) Just take it easy 🏂.”

The hotel is easily accessible from Chengdu. A short 25 minutes train ride from Chengdu to Qingchengshan station and then the hotel staff will arrange to pick you up.
As soon as you arrive you will realise what an absolute gem this hotel is!
The hotel is nestled amongst the hills with incredible views of the surrounding mountains. This is a luxury hotel with the services and infrastructure to match.
We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea upon arrival and you also have the possibility to enjoy a hot water jacuzzi, a fitness area, walks around the hotel forest grounds as well as many other experiences proposed by the hotel.
The hotel is only 15 mins drive from Dujiangyan Giant Panda Centre and the hotel staff organised transport there and back for us. We would recommend this Panda reserve as it is much quieter than the reserves in Chengdu!
We had dinner at the hotel restaurant on both nights of our stay and the food was truly exceptional! We chose the set menu, which took us on a culinary journey through Sichuan. Each plate was refined, delicious and made using fresh ingredients.
The breakfast was equally delicious, fresh and healthy.
We would like to highlight the kindness and warmth of all the hotel staff. They were always available to answer any questions and organise activities to make our stay magical. The hotel staff were able to communicate with us in both English and French.
We stayed at Suxi Homestay looking for a relaxing few days away from cities and we were blown away by the experience! We would have loved to have extended our stay!”

The business of the merchants during the May Day holiday was super hot. We arrived at almost 1:00 pm and finally didn't have to queue.
The beef with bamboo shoots was very well-balanced and tasted very good.
Li's tofu, a signature dish, has a crispy and sweet skin and tender tofu inside.
The stewed chicken with ginkgo nuts was average, but still had a bit of MSG taste.
