This place is fascinating, but to fully enjoy it, you need to be an enthusiast of siege weapons; otherwise, it might not be worth it as it is quite extensive and could become monotonous. The information provided at each machine is very detailed, and it might take half a morning to explore and read everything about this place.

A Journey Through the Central Plateau of Spain ~ Cuenca (Region) The ruins of Valeria and the Roman city are absolutely worth visiting. In addition to its unique natural environment, the Gritos River Canyon is equally impressive. I personally visited the site, which features fascinating sedimentation pools, remnants of a forum, a cathedral, taverns, hanging houses, and much more awaiting excavation. The area also boasts medieval ruins and stunning natural landscapes. Unfortunately, the hot springs are now only accessible with a guide; if you visit on your own, you can only view them through metal fences. They have a small visitor center with an excellent exhibition that provides valuable insights into the architectural details used by the Romans. It includes one of the best posters I’ve ever seen in any museum dedicated to ancient history and archaeology. We toured the site with an outstanding guide and historian, which gave the experience a unique touch. Highly recommended for anyone interested in the history and origins of our culture. The area also features the remains of a Roman bridge and a milestone marking the passage of some Roman roads through it.

Located east of the town, it's the only point accessible without crossing the Júcar River (there are two other roads leading into the medieval town, but these require crossing two bridges over the river). The tower and its associated gate ("Puerta del Campo") have been restored. The tower is perched slightly high on a rocky cliff, making it an easy and quick hike to the site. From here, you can enjoy wonderful panoramic views. You'll get stunning views of the Parador, the Júcar River, and its reservoir. Spanish Central Highlands Adventure ~ Cuenca (Region) This Romanesque-style church consists of a central nave, two side aisles, and three corresponding apses. The wooden coffered ceiling is beautiful, partly in the Mudéjar style. In the arches and walls, you can admire Roman columns and capitals from the ruins of Valeria, which served as the central support for the roof. Even the holy water font features inverted, openwork Corinthian capitals. On the walls, you can see Roman ashlars, Roman funerary stelae, and ashlars decorated with Visigothic-style flowers. The "Pozo Airón" in the side aisles is also remarkable: it still holds water and reflects Celtic Iberian traditions. The majestic bell tower has a tunnel at its base. Valeria was the seat of a bishop until the 12th century, making its church and Roman ruins of great significance. The church of Lace also houses a small Anglican museum with a fine collection of reliquaries and sacrificial objects. Unlike other knightly orders, most of their knights were monks (monje guerrero). Besides fighting against the Moors migrating north from Africa, they also had a profound impact on the politics, economy, and culture of the nearby towns.
