#Thai temple is the enshrined place of Phra Phutthaprasong Wuttipongprasit Prathanatbophit Tha Chanamongkol, which is a large Buddha statue with a reclining Buddha. The person who started the construction was Kamnan Kwet (Sergeant Wutthi Kaewkesom), the former headman of Tha Chana sub-district. He went to fight in the Vietnam War and made a vow that if he survived the war, he would ordain for one Buddhist Lent. When he returned from the Vietnam War, he was ordained as a monk at Wat Khok Chang. He saw that there was a large rock on the cliff behind the temple that was very strong and stable. It was suitable to build a Buddha statue to enshrine here. So he used his own money, 7,000 baht (at that time) and the cooperation of the local villagers to build the large Buddha. During the time he was ordained, only 4 months later, only the Buddha statue was completed. He intended to build the Buddha statue at Wat Khok Chang as planned. However, when the time came to actually start building, all the craftsmen who went to work were sick and unable to work. Sergeant Wutthi even had a dream that someone told him that the only person who could build a naga covering the large Buddha statue was a monk. Out of devotion, Sergeant Wut therefore decided to ordain as a monk again even though he had no knowledge of plastering. However, he was able to create a large naga to cover the Buddha image beautifully. The villagers believed in him and brought money from the phaapaa offering to help raise funds. When the construction was complete, Sergeant Wut disrobed.
