The fair lasts for two weeks from late April to early May and showcases around three million tulips of all colors and varieties. From Takaoka Station or Shin-Takaoka Station, take the JR Johana Line to Tonami Station (approx 20 minutes). During the duration of the fair, free shuttle buses run frequently between the station and the tulip park. There are also small museums and playground for children in the park.

The characteristic of the Shogawa Gorge cruise is that there is only one company operating the boat service along the entire river bank. When the boat sails out of the port, the people on the boat can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the boat floating between the high and low canyons as if they were traveling alone to a beautiful place. #springtravel Taken May2021. Beautiful tulip fair, millions of tulips were bloom in different variations. The new tulip tower was nice , few people that time because it rained. Free shuttle bus from station and places to the venue. Thankful to the people who put efforts on creating such a beautiful flower garden, lucky enough to be able to visit and experience that said fair. I really love flowers so I enjoyed so much even if it rained that day. Hopefully I can visit again next tulip fair. Some activities and events were cancelled due to the virus outbreak.

#springtravel A lovely little park next to the damned up area of the Sho River. Recommended for a 30 minute walk or to enjoy the picknic opportunities. There are a couple restaurants close to the main parking area, which also includes a tourist centre. Nice park memorializing the dam built along the river here. There are some restaurants, shops, and both paid and free museums. Kid friendly. They also have occasional festivals here. It's worth a stop if you're in the area and interested in learning more about local woodworking traditions. Free restrooms are also available, as is a simple bicycle station. The souvenir shop is well-stocked with various local products. Bit touristy.

The ryokan is surrounded by rice fields, and the scenery changes beautifully throughout the day — misty in the morning, golden in the afternoon. It’s a great place if you want to slow down and enjoy rural Japan. Inside, the design is simple and warm, using natural materials like wood and washi paper.
