From Hakata Station, you need to first take the bus to Kurume Station, then transfer to Chikugoyoshi Station and walk or take the bus to the place. The most famous attraction in Hokkehara Gardens is the 10-meter-tall, 60-year-old Minobu weeping cherry tree, which blooms in mid-March. The cherry blossoms are like a waterfall, and it is a charming sight to admire them under a red umbrella, whether it is day or night. This may not be one of the many popular place with people therefore making this a photogenic spot on top of a hill down to the valley, but if you are someone who doesn't really like to climb you are also able to drive up by car. Most people come to this Shrine to hope and pray for a prosperous business, good health, and scholarship.

As I got out of the car and walked from the parking lot, I was blown away by the spectacular illuminated cherry blossoms. They had just finished blooming, but the flurry of falling cherry blossoms was spectacular! Next time I'd like to go during the day.

Tsuzura Rice Terraces, selected as one of the 100 Best Rice Terraces in Japan by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, is a spectacular sight with 400-year-old stonework that still remains. The area is a whopping 7 hectares, and there are 300 rice paddies. Every September, about 500,000 red spider lilies bloom, so you might want to visit them instead of the rice terraces! I arrived unaware and found out about it 😂 Since I was there, I decided to try the peach parfait! The peach parfait was absolutely delicious💗 The peaches were made with Natsuotome strawberries🍑, and they were so sweet and delicious☺️ I drove there, and had to write my name and wait. After waiting for about an hour and a half inside the restaurant, I finally arrived! It's definitely worth coming here for lunch during the cooler months! The terrace seats offer a view of nature, and it's truly healing! Even the straws made from wheat show the attention to detail in every detail🌾 They don't offer bread lunches during peach season. Reservations are required for the cafe. Takeaway sweets are available. They also sell woodwork products and kitchen goods. The creme d'ange is superb!! The firm pudding was just my taste and it was blissful. The cheesecake wasn't too sweet and I finished it in no time. The shop is quiet and has a comfortable atmosphere. There is plenty of parking, but if you arrive earlier than your reservation, you may not be able to find a spot and you may have to wait. I think it's best to arrive just before the time is right. Next I'd like to try the scones. They also sell jams, such as citrus jams, in the next machine.

We visited Fukuoka again during the Golden Week. The city was crowded, but to avoid the hustle and bustle of the city, we headed south to enjoy a three-day and two-night trip to the Chikugo River Hot Springs. After having breakfast in Fukuoka, we set out at 11 o'clock and arrived at Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine 30 minutes later. We had some freshly baked plum cakes and walked around. We passed by Kurume and had a bowl of authentic Hakata tonkotsu ramen (open for lunch until 3 pm). We arrived in Ukiha City at 4 pm. The first night we stayed at Chikugo Kawano Senka Onsen Ryokan. The alkaline hot springs here are combined with sulfur, which is slippery and silky, and the rural river scenery makes people completely relaxed. Both the dinner and breakfast at Nipa Ichigo were exquisite and delicious, with abundant seafood ingredients and the wagyu beef was a bit of a surprise. The front desk staff speaks good English, and there is a beverage bar in the lobby. After taking a hot spring bath, a glass of draft beer is particularly satisfying! The next day we visited Inari Shrine⛩️ (Thousand Torii Gates), where we could see the entire Ukiha City. We then visited the local orchards. There is a shop called SORVETE Sorbet that you cannot miss. The persimmon flavor is especially recommended. Another fruit dessert cafe called "Dream Language Homestay" is also very popular in the local area. At noon we went to Hita City and enjoyed the famous Chiya Unagi rice, which was grilled to perfection and perfectly combined with the aroma of rice. The area nearby is full of Edo period scenery and is worth a visit. We returned to Asakura in the afternoon and first went to the ancient city of Akizuki. It was a short phytoncide-filled exploration trip. The wisteria trellis was beautiful, and it would be even better during the cherry blossom season! We stayed at Ryokan Toyotomi on the second night, which originated from Harazuru Onsen. Although it is small in scale, it has a variety of unique hot springs to choose from, such as cave baths, which are suitable for couples or families to enjoy bathing. On a quiet night in the countryside, enjoy the breeze and natural hot soup, it's a unique experience! The next day, I woke up early to feel the fresh air, and enjoyed the carefully prepared breakfast under the greenery outside the window. This time, I went to visit Shiseido's factory in Ukiha, which is about an hour and a half by car from Fukuoka city on public roads! Shiseido factory tours are only held at three factories in the country! One of them is in Fukuoka! I think it's worth visiting when you're traveling to Fukuoka! The tour contents are -Explanation of the factory using project mapping -Inspection experience -Factory tour -Workshop (contents change depending on the month) The tour is divided into two parts per day, from 9:30 and 13:30, and each part is 120 minutes long!
