I joined a two-day tour with Ronaldo from Inca Trail Classic, and the experience was incredible. Machu Picchu was the highlight of the first day. Every detail was flawlessly arranged, from the taxi pickup at my hotel to the train tickets, and finally the bus ride to the entrance of Machu Picchu. The tour was one-on-one with Ronald, and it was amazing. He shared fascinating historical insights, took great photos and videos, and Machu Picchu itself was simply breathtakingly beautiful! The second day was dedicated to Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca). Adrian, the same friendly driver, picked me up again, and we collected Ronald before heading out. It was just the three of us on the journey. The hike started relatively easy; it’s only about 2 km in total. But when we hit the steeper sections, things got seriously challenging. Even though I’m in good shape and exercise often, the high-altitude and low air pressure made it tough, despite a couple of days acclimating beforehand—a real reality check for me! Fortunately, there are alternatives like horse or quad rides, so don’t worry if the hike seems too daunting. Reaching the top was worth all the effort—the views of Rainbow Mountain are stunning with its vibrant colors. Taking photos with llamas and alpacas there is a fun bonus, so be sure to bring some coins to tip. Altogether, these two days were absolutely wonderful. Ronald is an excellent guide, and I highly recommend this tour!
