Must-see in the Loire Valley | The Millennium-Old Royal History of Blois Castle
Royal Legends at Your Fingertips!!!
Château de Blois 📍Located in the heart of a small town in the Loire Valley, France (Address: 6 Place du Château, 41000 Blois), this royal castle, 180km from Paris, witnessed the legendary lives of seven French kings and ten queens.
✨ One castle = a history of French architecture!
Here you'll find:
• Gothic spires ⛪️
• Flaming Gothic reliefs 🔥
• Renaissance arcades 🎨
• Classical facades ⚜️ It's like stepping into a live architectural show! A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000!
💭 Real Experience:
"It doesn't have the grandeur of Chambord, nor the romance of Chenonceau, but every stone here tells a story of power, love, and intrigue..."—that's the unique charm of Blois!
🚗 Travel Highlights: We were originally going to see the prehistoric frescoes in the Vétheuil-Val de la Ville... but ended up driving 6 hours straight here 😭 A special thank you to the couple who accompanied us, Mr. and Mrs. Juan; if they hadn't insisted, we would have missed this treasure (although I, at 55, was almost exhausted 🙃). A word of advice: retire early for travel! Physical fitness is really important!
📸 Photo Tips:
• The François I Staircase is the best photo spot.
• The castle's nighttime lighting is incredibly dreamy.
• Remember to take panoramic photos of the Loire River from the terrace.
🕒 Opening Hours:
April-September 9:00-18:30
October-March 9:00-17:30
🎫 Ticket Price: Adults €15
💡 Bonus: The castle hides a secret passage designed by Leonardo da Vinci! It's said that Catherine de' Medici plotted the St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre here... a chilling thought!

César Tower – The Heart of the Medieval Town of Provins
As you slowly ascend the cobblestone path to the top of the Old Town, a towering gray stone structure suddenly appears before your eyes. This is the César Tower (Tour César). Its commanding presence is evident even from afar, but as you approach, you feel a palpable sense of tension, as if stepping into a medieval fortress.
Dating back to the 12th century, this tower served as a watchtower, prison, and bell tower, symbolizing the power of Provins during its era as a commercial and military hub. Its circular design, sharp roof, and spiral staircase within all bear the marks of time.
Entering the tower, you’ll encounter stone passageways, echoing footsteps, and narrow, steep stairs, giving you the sensation of walking through a crack in time. Upon reaching the top, you’re rewarded with a panoramic view of the entire Old Town—red rooftops, stone walls, fortifications, and even distant farms and fields. Discovering such a serene medieval gem near Paris feels like an unexpected bonus to your journey.
📝 César Tower Information Summary
• Name: Tour César (César Tower)
• Location: At the center of Provins Old Town, next to Saint-Quiriace Church
• Operating Hours:
- Peak Season (April–October): Open daily, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM
- Off-Season (November–March): Open weekends only, with reduced hours.

🇫🇷 Parish Church of Saint-Paul of Saint-Louis
#europetrip
This is an unexpected spot that we visited during our trip to Paris. This historic church, located in the heart of Paris. Behind the red doors for the entrance , I immediately felt the serenity and mystical atmosphere. The church is still in use and exudes a timeless and ancient spirit that makes it truly special. The long history of this church traced back to 1627 when it first started its construction and it was completed in 1641.

Parish Church of Saint-Paul of Saint-Louis is a church located in the heart of the old Paris since 1627. The most mesmerising feature would be the churches dome, which serves also as light well. It was of the firsts and the biggest one constructed back then. It was also built in Baroque style instead of the usual Gothic style.

Château de Cheminmont in the Loire Valley. I have dreamed of visiting this castle for a long time. The exterior is beautiful and magnificent. You can see the view of the Loire River. It is very easy to travel. Take the train from Tours for only 20 minutes. There is a delicious French bakery at the entrance. If anyone passes by, don't miss it. I recommend it. The interior of the castle is beautiful, but nothing special. It may be because we just visited the Palace of Versailles two days ago. This castle is famous for its art. If anyone likes art, this is a must-see.
