Visiting Caversham Wildlife Park in Perth was one of the most memorable experiences of my trip to Australia. Seeing the koala up close was such a special moment — they are even cuter in real life! The koala was calm and fluffy, and it felt amazing to stand beside such a unique Australian animal. Another unforgettable activity was feeding the kangaroos. They were roaming freely in the open area, and visitors could hand-feed them with special food provided by the park. The kangaroos were gentle and friendly, happily hopping over when they saw food in our hands. It was so fun interacting with them and taking photos while they ate. The park also has many other animals like wombats, farm animals, and colorful birds. It’s a great place for families and animal lovers because the experience feels very interactive and personal. Took these photos at Caversham wildlife park. It’s one of the must-visit places in Perth where you get to snuggle up close with the wildlife animals of Australia. The park is a little crowded when we were there but there were ample places to park your vehicle. Entrance fee was reasonable as the park was huge I’d say it’s as big as a typical zoo except you get an interactive experience with the animals and can even take photos with a Koala. This zoo offers great interactivity and participation — perfect for kids who love animals, they’ll be thrilled! We went on a Saturday and there were lots of locals, so we had to queue quite a while at the entrance. · You’ll get a green map at the entrance. · Pay attention to the schedule on it — there are fixed times for:  · Meet the Koala  · Meet the Wombat  · Penguin Feeding  · Farm Show Make sure to go early and line up in advance to get a front-row spot — if you're late, you won’t see much. I visited a wildlife park located about 30 minutes by car from the center of Perth, Australia! It's highly recommended because you can meet Australia's popular animals that are hard to encounter in the city all at once! First, we experienced feeding kangaroos🦘. You can see them freely roaming around the spacious grounds, living as if they were in the wild! It's super cute to see them hopping towards you when you place food in your palm❤️. The ones with white fur are said to be albino!? Next, you can take photos next to a wombat being held by a zookeeper! It's okay to touch their feet👌🏽. For koalas, it's okay to gently stroke their backs with the back of your hand👌🏽. There are photo lists of the koalas and wombats on the wall, so it's fun to find out which one you interacted with! Just like humans, each one has a different face, so you can also look for your favorite!

We loved how easy it is to find a nice playground in perth and pur favourite has got to be Pia's Place. Pia's Place is located at Whiteman Park and it is designed to include kids of all abilities to play in a safe natured based inclusive space. The playground is super fun, not just for the young but also for the adults. It is a great place for the children to explore, laugh and learn, and where everyone can just play together. There is so much to play there. For example, there are swings, long slides, a flying fox, a merry go round and a massive lighthouse for kids to play. If you're visiting Perth and only have half a day to spare, Perth Zoo is one of those places that's absolutely worth adding to your itinerary. I originally thought it would just be another zoo, but I was genuinely surprised by how peaceful, spacious and well-designed it is. Unlike many zoos I've visited, the animals here live in beautifully landscaped habitats that feel close to nature rather than enclosed exhibits. The highlight, of course, was finally seeing Australia's iconic wildlife in person. Watching a sleepy koala resting high in the eucalyptus trees was exactly the Australian moment I had imagined. The kangaroos were even better—they were incredibly relaxed, hopping around their large open enclosure while visitors quietly admired them from nearby walkways. I also loved seeing the colourful birds, playful meerkats, giraffes, lions and tigers, making this zoo much more diverse than I anticipated. What impressed me most wasn't just the animals—it was the atmosphere. The entire zoo is filled with lush gardens, shady trees and winding walking paths, making it enjoyable even on warm days. It never felt overcrowded, and there were plenty of benches and picnic areas where families were relaxing under the trees. It felt more like strolling through a botanical garden than rushing between animal exhibits. This time, I joined a day trip that included Caversham Wildlife Park (tour fee HKD 1,180/person). This family-run zoo is highly interactive, with a fun-loving guide leading the tour: 🦘 First stop: Feeding the kangaroos I recommend going in the morning, as the kangaroos are very active and friendly. Gently patting their backs as instructed is safe. The muscular kangaroos have very smooth fur, and the Wallaby kangaroos are adorable with their squinting eyes and pouting lips. I even saw a relatively rare white kangaroo! 🐻 Second stop: Taking photos with the wombats You can touch the wombat's legs while taking pictures. The wombat we saw that day was very lively; even the zookeeper almost couldn't hold it. 🐨 Third stop: A sober koala We were lucky enough to encounter a sober koala! The guide even taught us how to distinguish them: northern koalas are smaller and grayish, while southern koalas are larger and brownish-gray. Outside the photo area, many koalas were curled up in eucalyptus trees, continuing to sleep, occasionally waking up to eat some leaves before going back to sleep—it was the life I'd always dreamed of. This trip was rather rushed, with only a 45-minute stop, but the experience was still fantastic. Cavasham wildlife Park located at white man's Park is truly an amazing experience. Get up close to koalas and kangaroos. You can feed the animals with the supplied food. Easy to access via the ellenbrook train and electric tram at whitemans park. plenty of parks and playgrounds for kids. There is a nice Cafe onsite and there is even a classic and vintage car museum

If you’re in Perth, this place is definitely worth visiting. You can see so many Australian animals up close, like kangaroos, koalas, and even wombats! My favorite part was being able to feed the kangaroos. They’re super friendly and just casually come up to you 😂 They also have shows where you can learn about farm animals and Aussie wildlife, which makes it even more interesting!
