A real life Hogwarts experience at the Hebei academy of fine arts located in Shijiazhuang city . The architecture was so similar to the Hogwarts with breathtaking views. It’s a heaven for the potter heads 😊

If you think these photos show a European castle or a theme park, think again. This is an actual Chinese university—the Hebei Academy of Fine Arts (河北美术学院) located near Shijiazhuang. This place holds a special meaning for me: I spent about a year studying Chinese language courses here. Because of that, I got to experience the university not just as a tourist, but from the inside as a regular student. The best part? You can visit even if you don't study here. 🏰 A University That Doesn't Look Like One The Hebei Academy of Fine Arts is an art school, so unique architecture is quite literally everywhere. The most famous part of the campus is a massive European-style complex. The towers, walls, bridges, and buildings genuinely make you feel like you've stepped into a small medieval town. That's why the internet often compares this university to Hogwarts. But the most surreal part is knowing it isn't a theme park. While tourists are busy snapping photos of the castles, students are rushing to class right next to them. Inside, you'll find lecture halls, workshops, and creative spaces for painting, design, sculpture, film, and other arts. 🎨 There's More to See Than Just the Castle If you visit, I highly recommend doing more than just taking a few quick photos in front of the main building. The campus is huge, and it's simply a joy to wander around. You'll stumble upon completely different architectural styles, sculptures, art installations, and exhibition spaces. They have their own art museum and themed areas dedicated to history and art. If you happen to visit during a student art exhibition, the experience is even more rewarding—it is an art academy, after all. 👨🎓 What Was It Like Studying Here? For me, all this extraordinary architecture quickly became a part of daily life. When you walk past towering castles every day on your way to class, you eventually stop seeing them as tourist attractions. But looking back at my photos now, a year later, I realize just how magical this place really was. It's especially fun to see the reactions of people when I show them the pictures for the first time and say: "This is my university in China." 🎫 Can Tourists Visit? Yes. Under the current rules, the university is open to tourists for free, but you must make a reservation in advance. You can book your visit via the official WeChat account 河北美术学院: 走进河美 → 印象河美 → 参观预约 The university releases specific visiting days and visitor quotas, so it's best to book early and double-check the latest guidelines before your trip. 📍 Where Is It? Despite the name, the university isn't actually in downtown Shijiazhuang. 📌 Hebei Academy of Fine Arts — 河北美术学院 📍 Xinle (新乐), Shijiazhuang, Hebei For tourist visits, you need to head to the South Campus — 河北美术学院(南区). Since it takes a while to get there from the center of Shijiazhuang, I'd block out at least half a day for the trip and avoid packing your itinerary with too many other stops. For Chinese map apps, just copy and paste: 河北美术学院(南区) 💡 My Advice I probably wouldn't make a special trip to Shijiazhuang solely for this university. However, if you're already exploring Hebei Province or happen to be in Shijiazhuang, it's definitely worth checking out. It's especially great if you're into unique architecture, photography, and places that are totally off the beaten path for typical Chinese tourism. ⭐ My Rating: 9/10 🎫 Entrance: Free (advance booking required) ⏱️ Time needed: 2–4 hours 📍 Map location: 河北美术学院(南区) 🏙️ Nearest major city: Shijiazhuang 📸 Best for: Fans of architecture, photography, and exploring China's quirky spots.

🏰 Shijiazhuang also has Hogwarts?! A 2-day 1-night nanny-level photo guide to Hebei Academy of Fine Arts 📸 Guys! Who says you have to fly to Europe to see ancient castles? Who says you can only shoot magical blockbusters at Universal Studios? In Shijiazhuang, there’s a real-life “art utopia” hidden away — Hebei Academy of Fine Arts! ✨ Just got back from checking it out, and I was truly amazed! On the left is a Gothic magical castle, on the right is a Jiangnan ink-wash garden, the blend of Eastern and Western architecture is a photographer’s paradise! To save you some trouble, I stayed up all night to put together this super detailed 2-day 1-night travel guide, including reservations, transportation, accommodation, and photo spots — just copy it! 📝 🚗 About transportation: A spontaneous “magical journey” Starting from downtown Shijiazhuang, transportation is super convenient! · For bus riders: Take Xinle Special Line 1 (green bus) from downtown Shijiazhuang (like near Beiguo Shopping Mall) directly to the “Academy Castle” stop. The fare is 7 yuan, and it takes about an hour. You can enjoy the scenery along the way. · For drivers: Navigate directly to “Hebei Academy of Fine Arts South Campus - South Gate,” about 40-60 minutes by car. There’s a large parking lot opposite the south gate, 10 yuan per day with unlimited time, plenty of spaces, very driver-friendly! 🅿️ · On-campus transport: The campus is really huge! Once inside, I highly recommend taking the campus mini train. It’s only 2 yuan from the south gate to the north gate, runs every ten minutes or so, a blessing for lazy people, saving energy to take hundreds more photos! 🚂 🏨 About accommodation: Where is the most convenient place to stay? Since it’s a 2-day 1-night trip, I suggest staying in Xinle city or directly near the school. · Xinle city: Not far from the school, taxi fare is about the starting price. Recommended hotels are “Xinle Shengjin Hotel” or “Xinle Mango Hotel,” both cost-effective with many dining options nearby, and you can stroll the night market in the city at night. · Near the school: If you want to enter the campus early the next morning to shoot the morning scenery, check out nearby guesthouses or budget hotels. Though the conditions are simpler than downtown, the proximity lets you sleep an extra half hour! 🎫 Tickets and reservations: Key points!! (Must read) The campus is free! But! You must book in advance! Don’t forget this, or you’ll make a wasted trip! · Booking time: Tickets are released punctually at 9:00 AM every Wednesday for entry slots on Saturday and Sunday (limited slots, first come first served!). · Booking channel: Search the WeChat official accounts “Hebei Academy of Fine Arts” or “Hebei Art Service Platform,” then click “Visit Reservation” or “Entry Application” in the menu. · Entry method: After successful booking, bring your original second-generation ID card and use facial recognition at the school gate to enter, super convenient! Be sure to set an alarm to grab tickets! ⏰ 🗓️ Day 1: Enter the Hogwarts magical world (South Campus walkabout) Arrive in the afternoon, travel light, enter from the south gate of the South Campus, and start your magical journey! 1. Empire Square: Turn right after entering! Nine horses pulling a chariot, the goddess of victory holding an olive branch, with a gray-and-white Gothic castle in the background. Stand on the left side of the sculpture and shoot upward with a wide-angle lens, instantly transported to Europe! 🏰 2. Magical Castle Complex: This replicates the design of the UK Parliament building, with spiral staircases and arched corridors. When the afternoon sun shines in around 3-4 PM, the light and shadow are stunning. Wear a magic robe or a black long dress, and every shot looks like a movie poster! 3. Sunshine Beach & Harmony Bridge: Walk along the lakeside to see the perfect reflection of the castle in the water. At the blue hour (half an hour after sunset), the castle lights up. Standing on the bridge to shoot the panorama across the water feels like a “mini Victoria Harbour,” the atmosphere is amazing! ✨ 4. Dinner: After a tiring walk, head to the “Magic Box” dining area or the student canteen on campus (open to the public, supports mobile payment). You can get full for about 20 yuan per person, with tasty spicy hot pot and affordable set meals. 🗓️ Day 2: Stroll through the Chinese-style ancient secret garden (North Campus & in-depth check-in) Sleep in on the second day and continue exploring the other side of the campus. 1. Wenfeng Tower: A ten-story ancient-style tower standing in the garden, sometimes hosting art exhibitions inside the base. Climb to the top for a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire campus! 2. Jiming City: Walk past Wenfeng Tower along the lakeside to find exquisite Chinese-style ancient buildings. Hui-style architecture with black tiles and white walls, the Kuixing Building with flying eaves and upturned corners — a huge contrast to the European style of the South Campus. Strongly recommend renting a Hanfu (available on site) to shoot a set of ancient-style photos in the waterside corridors, instantly becoming the star of a costume drama! 👘 3. Folk Culture Corridor: Continue walking to see Hui-style white walls and gray tiles, with exquisite brick and wood carvings. A must-visit for lovers of Chinese aesthetics! 4. Return trip: After touring the North Campus, take the mini train back to the south gate to pick up your car, or take a taxi to Xinle city for a good meal before heading back. 📸 Blogger’s secret popular photo spots (100% photo success rate) · Magic robe + spiral staircase: Inside the castle’s spiral staircase, shoot from above or below for a mysterious vibe. · Lakeside reflection: Opposite Sunshine Beach, use the water surface to capture the symmetrical reflection of the castle. Remember to hold your phone upside down for a more stunning shot! · Jiming City corridor: Use the Chinese corridor’s frame composition to shoot a person looking back, full of storytelling. · Mini train candid shots: Spend 2 yuan to ride the campus mini train, have a friend capture the moment you lean out the window to enjoy the view, perfect for a fresh Japanese-style vibe! 💡 Final tips: · Sometimes there are black swans, peacocks, and even sika deer in the park. You can interact with the animals, but remember to feed them politely! · Be sure to wear comfortable shoes because the campus is really big; walking 20,000 steps a day is not a dream! · If you miss the Wednesday reservation, check if the school has temporary exhibitions or events, sometimes you can book daily during those times! So close, so beautiful, you can really come to Hebei Academy of Fine Arts this weekend and be a runaway wizard for a day! Any questions, see you in the comments below~ 👇✨

If you're looking to avoid crowded tourist cities during summer vacation, Xinle, a small town near Shijiazhuang, is just the right choice. This "Sacred Village of Fuxi" hides an ancient platform, an exotic campus, and pristine wetlands. Without the throngs of tourists, prices are affordable, and the riverside and woodlands are especially cool in summer. A leisurely two-day stroll costs just over 300 yuan per person – a truly satisfying and comfortable experience. Day 1: Ancient Platform + Castle Campus + Cool River Breeze In the morning, we first visited Fuxi Platform. The entrance fee is 15 yuan, and it's a national key cultural relics protection unit. The scenic area was remarkably quiet. The three-tiered platform stretches along the central axis. The Dragon Master Hall and the Six Assistants Hall are ancient and imposing, with inscriptions bearing the marks of time. The most interesting sight in the park is the "Locust Embracing Toon Tree" and "Locust Embracing Locust Tree" wonders – new trees sprout from the embrace of ancient locust trees, and ancient cypress trees provide ample shade. Walking under their shade in summer is refreshingly cool and completely sheltered from the sun. We leisurely strolled around for two hours, listening to the legend of Fuxi drawing the Eight Trigrams. No need to rush; it was a time for reflection and tranquility. For lunch, I went back to the city center for authentic local flavors, finding a long-established restaurant and ordering a bowl of half a jin (250g) and a half jin (250g) beef noodles. The hand-rolled noodles were chewy and smooth, the beef chunks were large and tender, and the beef bone broth was rich and flavorful. I ate it with freshly baked clay oven-baked flatbread, crispy and crumbly, becoming more fragrant with each chew. In summer, a must-order is a cold buckwheat cake salad; the chewy and refreshing buckwheat noodles, drizzled with minced garlic and aged vinegar, are tangy, spicy, and appetizing—a filling meal for just over ten yuan. In the afternoon, during the hottest part of the day, I went to the South Campus of Hebei Academy of Fine Arts. It's free, but you need to make a reservation in advance through their official WeChat account. The Gothic castle-like architecture is hidden within the campus, with gray and white walls and pointed towers. Black swans glided leisurely along the lake, making for photogenic spots. No need to specifically look for photo spots; just stroll along the lakeside under the shade of trees, admiring the art sculptures along the way. Two hours is just right—a perfect way to escape the sun and soak up the artistic atmosphere. In the evening, I went to the Cihe Mudaogou Ecological Wetland, a local favorite for cooling off. Strolling along the riverside path, the river breeze carries moisture, making it two or three degrees cooler than the city. Reed beds stretch as far as the eye can see, and lotus flowers bloom sporadically in summer. At sunset, golden sunlight bathes the water, creating a particularly soothing scene. A walk and a breeze completely dispel the day's heat. In the evening, explore the night market near Changshou Road. Grab some smoked meat pancakes and braised fried skewers—the prices are cheap, just over ten yuan for a satisfying meal. Day 2: Temple Retreat + Farmland Picking In the morning, visit the Guanyin Temple in Tongchangdian, which is free to enter. This thousand-year-old temple has little commercial atmosphere. The halls are solemn and dignified, and ancient locust trees tower in the courtyard. Sitting under the shade of these trees is particularly peaceful, and the faint scent of incense is calming. There are no vendors hawking their wares, only the occasional chime of the bell. Strolling around for over an hour, I felt completely at peace. At noon, stop by Pengjiazhuang for some halal braised chicken. The skin is tender, the meat is fragrant and falls off the bone, and the saltiness is just right. Paired with two simple cold dishes, it's a simple yet delicious meal. In the afternoon, we went to Guanfeng Agricultural Picking Garden. Summer vacation is the perfect time for grapes to ripen, and the vines were laden with Xiahei and Jufeng varieties. The garden was lush and shaded from the sun. Picking and eating fresh grapes resulted in plump, incredibly sweet fruit. The price was reasonable, and the experience was excellent. Before returning home, consider bringing back some local specialties like braised pork knuckle or crispy candy as souvenirs. These are authentic local flavors, inexpensive and unique. Practical Tips: 1. Xinle city is small. A taxi ride starts at six yuan, and fares between attractions are generally under ten yuan. Shared electric bikes are also convenient. 2. Advance reservations are required for the Hebei Academy of Fine Arts via their official WeChat account. The art museum is closed on Mondays, so don't make a wasted trip. 3. The midday sun is very strong during summer vacation. Try to plan indoor activities or activities in the shade. The best lighting for taking photos is after 4 pm. 4. Driving from Shijiazhuang to Xinle takes about an hour, and the high-speed train takes only fifteen minutes. A weekend trip is perfectly feasible.

Wandering Between a Magical Castle and an Oriental Garden — A Travelogue of Hebei Academy of Fine Arts If there is any university in China that is so “offbeat” it makes you think you’ve stumbled into Universal Studios, it must be the Hebei Academy of Fine Arts, humorously dubbed by netizens as the “Hogwarts Hebei Branch.” When I drove 40 minutes from Shijiazhuang to the southern gate of Xinle City, the view outside the car window suddenly opened up, and the awe and shock from the bottom of my heart were unmistakable — far more striking than what I had seen in videos. First Encounter with “Hogwarts” The entire South Campus is basically a giant European classical garden. Spanning thousands of acres, the gray and white castle complex stands tall and majestic. The Cinderella castle group consists of five buildings, four of which are already in use. The Gothic-style spires pierce the sky, and the arched stained glass windows cast colorful reflections in the sunlight. Statues of hundreds of European philosophers stand atop the rooftops, guarding this magical land alongside the intricately carved stone pillars at the entrance. Even before approaching, the grandest sight at the school gate captures your attention — on the Art Empire Plaza, the statue of the “Victory Goddess Leading the Charge” dominates the scene. Nine spirited horses come to life, some rearing up and neighing fiercely, others stepping steadily with determined eyes. On the chariot they pull stands a Victory Goddess dressed in an ancient Greek-style long dress, head held high, holding an olive branch aloft, as if she has just descended from the sky, carrying a spirit of breaking free from all constraints. Further inside, an artificial Venetian water city winds through the castle complex — vintage gondolas rest in the waterways, flanked by Baroque-style Roman international art exhibition centers and exquisite arcades. Standing by the lake and looking out, the spires and castles reflect on the clear water. When the breeze stirs, the mirrored world gently ripples, making you feel as if you are in a small lakeside town in medieval Europe. A Stunning Turn to Oriental Elegance Passing through the South Campus’s artificial lake known as the “Mediterranean,” one moment you are still savoring the Gothic arches, and the next moment the scene transforms into a Jiangnan ink painting. Waterside pavilions, black tiles and white walls, pavilions and towers, with the bell tower and drum tower facing each other in the distance. The exquisitely built Jiming Ancient City instantly transports you to the bustling life of the Ming and Qing dynasties. This miniature ancient city has five gates and eight streets, with buildings of blue bricks and gray tiles incorporating the stilt house structure typical of Yunnan-Guizhou residences, covering more than thirty acres. Inside are government offices, opera houses, the Kuixing Pavilion, and even a City God Temple. The narrow bluestone paths, red lanterns swaying gently under the eaves, and the carved wooden eaves inscribed with excerpts from the Analects of Confucius, faintly visible in the light and shadow, all add to the charm. At sunset, the silhouette of the flying eaves of Jiming City and the Gothic spires of the Cinderella castle group appear in the same frame, creating a strange sense of time travel. Crossing the “Secret Skybridge” from the South Campus feels like stepping “back home,” a magical blend of East and West that probably can only be experienced at Hebei Academy of Fine Arts. Reflections on the Way Back At its core, Hebei Academy of Fine Arts is an art sanctuary open to the public. To avoid disrupting normal teaching and research, visitors wishing to enter this “parallel universe” must make an official real-name reservation via the public WeChat account every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and can only visit on weekends by entering through the North Gate of Jiming City on the South Campus with valid ID. Looking back as I left, watching the last warm rays of the evening sun bathe the gray castle walls in a dreamy golden-pink hue, I suddenly felt that this is not just a university campus, but a grand aesthetic experiment made tangible — here, magic has never been about spells; it is simply the embodiment of all the wild imagination in the world, painted on walls and carved into every hard yet artistically warm brick and stone.

Hebei Academy of Fine Arts truly takes "East meets West" to the extreme. The South Campus Gothic castle complex resembles the Hogwarts houses, with spires, colorful stained glass windows, Roman columns, and Victory Goddess sculptures—every snapshot looks like a European masterpiece. The North Campus transports you straight to Jiangnan, featuring Huizhou-style library, Ming and Qing dynasty civil and military temples, Wenfeng Tower, and Jiming Ancient City. Blue tiles and white walls with flying eaves make it perfect for Hanfu photoshoots. The campus is huge, so be sure to take the little train, which takes about 30 minutes to circle all the main spots, making video shooting on the move more atmospheric. Mediterranean Lake, London Bridge, castle reflections, Wenfeng Tower at night—every angle is stunning. Don’t just take static photos; record videos while the little train is moving for more dynamic shots. Real Travel Tips (Details Not Found Online) · Best Route: Enter from South Gate → Art Empire Square → Mediterranean Lake → London Bridge → Little Train Loop → North Campus Wenfeng Tower → Jiming Ancient City · Photo Tips: Use a wide-angle lens for full castle panoramas; shoot lake reflections at dusk; wear Hanfu and walk the corridors in the Chinese-style area; record videos on the moving little train for smooth cinematic shots. · Avoid Pitfalls: Weekends are crowded, try to visit on weekdays; some castle interiors are restricted to students, don’t force entry; little train payment is via QR code, have small change ready. Transportation (Real Summary) · Public Transit: From Shijiazhuang Station/North Station → Metro Line 2 to Beiguo Mall → Transfer to Xinle Special Line 1 → Academy Station, about 1.5 hours, 7 RMB · Driving: Navigate to "Hebei Academy of Fine Arts South Campus," exit at Xinlekou on Xinyuan Expressway, parking on and around campus costs 10-15 RMB/day · Taxi: From Shijiazhuang Station to the Academy, about 30 minutes, fare 100+ RMB

🌟 New Discoveries in Hebei Culture & Tourism: From Shijiazhuang's Historical Scroll to Artistic Utopia 🚩 **Shijiazhuang's Historical Trilogy** Stroll under the phoenix trees at Zhengta Square, where this French-style block was once the starting point of the 1907 Zheng-Tai Railway. The 36 European-style buildings witness how this "city born from trains" rose to prominence. Turn to Liberation Square, where the towering Liberation Monument hides the heroic stories of 1947—the People's Liberation Army fired the first shot of the Shimen Campaign here. Inside the Liberation Memorial Hall, multimedia sand tables recreate the strategic miracle of "liberating Shijiazhuang in three and a half months," while yellowed military orders in glass display cases hold the code to the city's rebirth. 🎨 **Xinle: The Oriental "Hogwarts"** 40 km from downtown, the South Campus of Hebei Academy of Fine Arts is like a visual spell: Gothic castle clusters reflect on artificial lakes, and students sketching dart between Roman colonnades. The most stunning is the North Campus's Eiffel Tower Hotel—staying in Renaissance-style dome rooms, you can push open the window to see the silhouette of the "magic campus" spires. Locals say this was once barren sand, but now it’s a Xiaohongshu photography hotspot. ⛰️ **Laiyuan’s Hidden Gem** The "One Bottle Cola" café deep in the Taihang Mountains is absolutely worth the detour—a rustic industrial-style book nook hides in a mottled old factory, where the owner turns local persimmon cakes into exclusive desserts. Outside the window are the red cliffs of Zhangshiyan National Geopark. Sip a specialty drink made with local wild jujubes, and suddenly, you’ll understand the true meaning of "so close, yet so beautiful." 🍜 **Yanzhao on the Tip of the Tongue** While queuing at Zhengta Square’s time-honored "Red Star Steamed Buns," discover how Shijiazhuang locals reinvent donkey meat burgers: crispy buns stuffed with Baoding-style braised meat, paired with Handan millet porridge for authenticity. A hotel receptionist secretly recommends Miansan Fried Chicken—30 years selling just one flavor, and the juicy first bite makes it worth every penny. 💡 **Trip Highlights** · Liberation Square at night, when the monument projects holographic historical images · Hebei Academy of Fine Arts’ free castle light show every Saturday evening · The perfect pairing of Laiyuan wild jujube juice and Taihang Mountain cliff honey From an industrial hub to an artistic enclave, Hebei proves its worth with profound history and boundless creativity—worthy of a three-day stay.
