📍 Yangyang Store Location: 1F, 8-1 Nammun 6-gil, Yangyang-eup, Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do 🏄♀️ Sentimental Items That Look Like the Yangyang Sea Has Been Transplanted Here True to Yangyang's reputation as a surfing mecca, the store is filled with items exuding a strong ocean vibe, such as surfboard-shaped keyrings, inflatable tube dolls, and shimmering "wave soaps" that look as if the beach itself has been scooped up. It is the perfect space to choose special souvenirs to remember your trip by, including cute seagull figurines, magnets, and postcards featuring ocean scenery. 🥔 Eye-Catching Root Vegetable Dolls and Sweet Local Snacks Cute vegetable dolls and keyrings modeled after Gangwon-do's specialties—potatoes, corn, and pine mushrooms—are the real eye-catchers here. In addition to cute triangular kimbap and dumpling-shaped tableware, they also sell sweet caramels made from Gangwon potatoes and corn, as well as "Yangyang Hanip," a local specialty bread, making it an excellent place to purchase gifts for friends and family. 💡 Visiting Tips! 👨👩👧 This is a pleasant indoor course perfect for visiting with your child and browsing at a leisurely pace, regardless of the unpredictable weather or the heat! Kids will lose track of time admiring the cute potato dolls with eyes, noses, and mouths, or the skateboard keychains. I recommend a fulfilling itinerary where you pick out a cute accessory that your child will love, taste some sweet corn caramel, and then head over to the nearby 'Yangyang Traditional Market' to enjoy delicious market snacks! #YangyangTravel #PlacesToVisitInYangyang #YangyangSouvenirShop #YangyangSouvenirs #YangyangTraditionalMarket #TravelToYangyangWithKids #FamilyTrip

If you want to experience a completely different side of Korea’s east coast, Surfyy Beach in Yangyang should be on your summer travel list. With its golden sand, clear blue sea, palm-tree decorations, straw parasols, hammocks, beanbags, and colorful photo spots, it feels more like a tropical beach club than a typical Korean beach. The moment I walked through the entrance and saw the ocean between the pine trees, I immediately felt like I was on vacation. The beach has a relaxed and youthful atmosphere, with plenty of comfortable places to sit and enjoy the view. You can stretch out on a sunbed, relax on a beanbag under the shade, or sit at one of the outdoor tables while listening to the waves. One of the best things about Surfyy Beach is how photogenic it is. The wooden teepees, palm trees, surfboards, vintage beach van, hammocks, and large yellow “BEACH” letters create so many fun backgrounds for summer photos. Almost every corner looks like it was designed for Instagram. Surfyy Beach is also well known for its surfing culture. Even if you have never tried surfing before, simply watching surfers catch the waves adds to the energetic coastal atmosphere. For those who prefer a slower day, the beach is still a great place to sunbathe, enjoy a drink, and relax beside the sea. Compared with ordinary public beaches, Surfyy Beach feels more organized and stylish, but it may not be the best choice if you are looking for a completely quiet or untouched beach. The atmosphere is more like a lively summer resort, and it can become busy during weekends and the peak holiday season. Some seating areas or activities may also require payment, so it is a good idea to check the available options when you arrive. For the best experience, visit on a clear weekday morning when the beach is quieter and the sunlight is perfect for photos. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and comfortable sandals because there is not much natural shade close to the water. Overall, Surfyy Beach is worth visiting for its tropical atmosphere, surfing culture, comfortable relaxation areas, and beautiful photo spots. It is an especially good choice for couples, groups of friends, and anyone who wants a stylish beach experience without leaving Korea. Would you visit Surfyy Beach this summer? 🌊🏄♀️ 📍 Surfyy Beach, Yangyang, Gangwon-do ⭐ Best for: Surfing, relaxing, beach photos and summer vibes 💡 Tip: Visit on a weekday to avoid the biggest crowds

It is a representative scenic spot in Yangyang that preserves precious cultural assets and breathtaking scenery embracing the wide-open East Sea. Key Features & Representative Facilities: Sea Water Avalokitesvara Statue: The largest stone statue of Avalokitesvara in the East, standing majestically while gazing at the sea; it is the most iconic symbol of Naksansa Temple. Also, the view of the sunrise over the East Sea from Uisangdae is spectacular, so we recommend visiting early in the morning! #YangyangTravel #PlacesToVisitInYangyang #Naksansa #YangyangNaksansa #Uisangdae #Hongnyeonam #HaesuGwaneumStatue #YangyangSunriseSpot #GangwonDoTravel #YangyangHotSpot

🔥 South Korea Month by Month: Where to Go from January to December South Korea is highly seasonal. The exact same itinerary in spring, summer, and fall feels almost like three completely different trips. The country has four distinct seasons: winter is cold, spring and fall are typically milder and clearer, and summer is hot and humid. ❄️ JANUARY • SEOUL + SKI RESORTS One of the coldest months. Average January temperatures in Seoul drop well below freezing. Go for: snow, winter palaces, ice skating rinks, ski resorts. Best bet: Seoul + Gangwon-do. ❄️ FEBRUARY • JEJU + SOUTHERN COAST It’s milder in the south, and Jeju and the coastal areas continue to enjoy camellia season, which usually lasts from late November to early March. Go for: the winter sea, camellias, fewer tourists. 🌸 MARCH • JEJU + BUSAN Spring kicks off earlier in the south. By March, spring flowers start popping up across the country. In 2026, cherry blossoms are expected to bloom on Jeju and in Busan around March 25th. Best bet: Jeju → Busan → Jinhae. 🌸 APRIL • SEOUL + GYEONGJU One of the most no-brainer months for a first-time trip. Cherry blossoms gradually move from south to north; the 2026 forecast expects Seoul to start blooming around April 3rd, peaking about a week later. Exact dates shift every year. Best bet: Seoul + Gyeongju + Jinhae. 🌿 MAY • SEOUL + SOKCHO + JEJU Everything is already lush and green, but the summer humidity hasn't hit its peak yet. Perfect for: palaces, city walks, national parks, Jeju Island. Spring in Korea is generally considered a mild and pleasant season for travel. 🌊 JUNE • EAST COAST The weather warms up, marking the transition into the summer season. Best bet: Gangneung, Sokcho, Yangyang, Busan. You can easily mix beach vibes, coastal cafes, and mountains. 🌧 JULY • BUSAN + INDOOR ITINERARIES Summer in Korea is hot and muggy; July falls right into the warmest time of the year. Plan for fewer long walks in the middle of the day and more museums, markets, and cafes. Best bet: Busan + Seoul with a flexible schedule. ☀️ AUGUST • THE SEASIDE One of the hottest months. The average low temperatures in Seoul and Busan hover around 73°F (+23 °C). Go for: beaches and seaside getaways. The official VisitKorea site specifically highlights Gangneung's beaches and surfing in Yangyang during the summer. 🌤 SEPTEMBER • SEOUL + BUSAN The heat gradually breaks, making city itineraries much more comfortable. Best bet: Seoul → Gyeongju → Busan. However, for late summer and early fall, keep an eye on KMA forecasts: the meteorological service posts specific info and warnings about typhoons. 🍁 OCTOBER • SOKCHO + SEORAKSAN Hands down one of the best months for Korea. It's cooler, much more comfortable for walking, and the fall foliage season begins. Best bet: Seoul + Seoraksan + Gyeongju. 🍂 NOVEMBER • JEONJU + THE SOUTH It gets colder up north, but the autumn color palette still lingers in certain regions. Naejangsan National Park is especially famous for its fall leaves. Best bet: Jeonju + Naejangsan + Busan. 🎄 DECEMBER • SEOUL + WINTER ITINERARY Full-on winter sets in. In Seoul, the average December low is around 26°F (−3.4 °C), while Busan is milder. Go for: wintery Seoul, holiday lights, snow, and hot Korean comfort food. QUICK PICKS Cherry blossoms → Late March–April Comfortable weather → April–May and October Beaches → July–August Fall foliage → October–November Snow → January–February If I had to pick the single most versatile month for a first trip, I'd bet on October: the summer heat is gone, there are plenty of walking routes, and autumn in Korea is visually stunning.

If you love the simple joy of sitting by the coast and listening to the gentle rhythm of waves, South Korea hides some magical spots just for you! Whether you’re traveling solo or seeking mindful moments, these chill beach escapes deliver quiet, scenic seaside relaxation. Head to Jeongdongjin Beach (Gangneung), famous for sunrises and a wide boardwalk perfect for wave watching. Arrive early to claim a bench, sip a hot coffee from a nearby café, and let the soundtrack of the sea reset your mood. Photo tip: Snap the sunrise framed by the famous coastal train—one of Korea’s most “insta-worthy” sights! Down south, Hajodae Beach (Yangyang) offers wind-carved pine trees, soft sands, and iconic lighthouses—all touched by the salty breeze. For true tranquility, walk away from main crowds and find a shaded rocky perch (takeaway: bring something comfy to sit on!). Sunset here lights up the waves—the best time for reflective shots. If you’re near Busan, Songjeong Beach is quieter than Haeundae, and dotted with seaside cafés offering outdoor seating right above the tide lines. Early morning or dusk here is magic; just bring headphones if you want extra peace when it’s busy. Tips: · Visit weekdays or early mornings for peace and prime seats. · Dress in layers, even in summer—sea breezes can be chilly! · Bring snacks/drinks, as options thin out on off-hours. · Tidal patterns mean the best wave sounds near mid-tide. Stay mindful and enjoy the rhythm—sometimes the best trips are all about just being present by the sea. #southkorea #coastalvibes #mindfultravel #beachescape #wavewatching

A day I visited Baekdamsa Temple, following the breeze of Mt. Seorak! After healing at the tranquil mountain temple and coming down, I stumbled upon a wonderful cafe—specifically, Baekdam Station Cafe. Perhaps because it is near Baekdamsa, the atmosphere was truly relaxing, starting with the view outside the window. It was the perfect place to rest and enjoy a cup of coffee. Since you have to take a shuttle to get to Baekdamsa, you can feel a bit more exhausted than expected after the visit. However, stopping by a trendy cafe like this completely changes the way the trip ends! With quiet music, a warm wood-toned ambiance, and a view that perfectly captures the essence of Mt. Seorak, it was a great spot for taking photos, making it the perfect way to capture travel snapshots. Walking along the valley path at Baekdamsa itself is truly delightful, and since the atmosphere is beautiful in all four seasons, I highly recommend it as a healing travel course in Gangwon-do! Especially if you visit during a season full of greenery like now, you can really feel the difference starting from the air. If you are traveling to Yangyang or going for a drive in Inje, be sure to include the Baekdamsa Cafe course! Baekdamsa Temple, where I stopped by briefly during my trip to Yangyang, Gangwon-do! It was a place where the calm air and the sound of the valley stream alone were enough to clear my mind. The forest path leading from the entrance is truly beautiful, and as I walked, I felt my cluttered thoughts gradually calm down. Especially in the summer, the cool valley scenery was so lovely, making it the perfect place for a light, relaxing getaway. The temple's unique tranquil atmosphere blended harmoniously with the nature of Mt. Seorak, making it a truly atmospheric spot for taking photos. Even though I only stayed for a short time, it is a place that strangely remains in my memory for a long time. If you are visiting Inje in Yangyang, be sure to stop by. #Baekdamsa #InjeTravel #GangwonTravel #MtSeorak #DomesticTravel #SentimentalTravel #HealingTravel #TempleTravel #TravelRecord #RecommendedDomesticTravel #GangwonHotSpot #PlacesToVisitInJe #WeekendTrip #Travelstagram #SentimentalSpot

Situated right next to the wide-open East Sea, just taking a slow stroll while listening to the crashing waves puts your mind completely at ease...! Hyuhuam Hermitage is particularly famous for its natural rock formations that look like they're floating on the water and its unique coastal scenery. Experiencing it in person is so much more majestic and healing than just looking at photos. If you head down below the temple, you can take in the views right at the water's edge. Nestled at an elevation of about 600 meters at the southern foot of Mount Seorak, Osaek-ri is a very famous scenic drive near Sokcho! In particular, the crisp air, the valley, and the profound natural vibe unique to Mount Seorak were so amazing. It was the perfect place to step away from the bustling city and find some healing. Osaek-ri is also well-known for its mineral water and carbonated hot springs. The carbonated mineral water has such a distinct taste that travelers make sure to try it at least once, and the hot springs are a popular spot to soothe tired muscles after a hike. But the best part of all was the valley scenery and lush forest vibes stretching along the road! In the summer, it's great for taking a stroll while listening to the refreshing sound of the rushing valley streams, and in the fall, it's famous as a spectacular spot for autumn foliage! Since it's also close to Hangyeryeong, I highly recommend adding it as a scenic detour to your Sokcho road trip itinerary. 🤍

Located right in front of Ingu Beach, a mecca for surfing, a highly aesthetic boutique hotel. With its mix of concrete and wood tones, the minimalist space is enhanced by the vibes of music, the ocean, and the pool— a place that was the absolute definition of "Yangyang aesthetics." The rooms felt less like a standard hotel and more like a trendy lifestyle stay, making it perfect for a casual staycation. The terrace rooms and the outdoor pool area are especially stunning. With Ingu Beach, surf shops, and cafes nearby, it makes your Yangyang travel itinerary super convenient. 📍 10 Ingujungang-gil, Hyeonnam-myeon, Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do 🏖 Walking distance to Ingu Beach If you're in Yangyang and looking for a slightly more hip and laid-back accommodation, highly recommended! 🌊

It’s a place where you can take in the vibes of both the mountains and the sea at the same time, so just taking a stroll here made me feel so at peace. Especially as you slowly make your way up through the temple grounds, you get a sweeping view of the East Sea unfolding before your eyes, and that scenery is honestly pure healing…! Naksansa is also famous for Uisangdae Pavilion and Hongryeonam Hermitage, and looking out at the ocean while listening to the crashing waves is great for clearing your head, making it the absolute perfect getaway spot for some quiet relaxation. With that unique, tranquil temple atmosphere, the colors of the traditional dancheong woodwork are absolutely stunning, and photos turn out incredibly aesthetic, so I highly recommend it as an aesthetic travel itinerary in Yangyang. It's especially great if you go around sunset, as the golden hour glow reflecting off the temple and the ocean makes the vibe even prettier. 100 Naksansa-ro, Ganghyeon-myeon, Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do

Mari Vista, the ‘Perfect Hotel for Resting’ I Found in Sokcho A trip to Sokcho always begins with the sea. However, the completion of a trip ultimately depends on where you rest! So, that is why... For this trip to Sokcho and Yangyang, instead of a flashy ocean view, I decided on an accommodation that offers comfort and practical satisfaction. It is none other than Sokcho Mari Vista Hotel!! Let me introduce it to you. 🌅 First Impression: As expected, a brand-new building was different. The moment I stepped into the hotel, there was just one thing I felt! It’s clean. 💯👏👏 As expected of a newly opened hotel, the condition was very neat overall, from the guest rooms and hallways to the bathrooms. 📌 The location of Sokcho Mari Vista Hotel was much better than I expected. Everything is within walking distance. ✔️ Sokcho Beach ⛱️ is a 5-minute walk away. ✔️ The Express Bus Terminal is within walking distance. ✔️ E-Mart is right next door, and there are plenty of great restaurants nearby. 🛏️ We booked 3 rooms because there were 4 of us. The rooms weren't fancy, but they were properly equipped with exactly what we needed. ✔️ The bedding was absolutely perfect and clean. ✔️ Spacious (Family rooms available). ✔️ Some basic cooking facilities included. I especially liked the huge refrigerator, haha. There is a 7-Eleven convenience store on the first floor, so I bought plenty of beer 🍺 and put it in the refrigerator. 👏👏😁 🚗 However, the hotel parking lot is a bit small, so you might want to use the nearby public parking lot. It is there. 🌊 The real charm of this hotel The key to this place is the value for money! It was the best. So the price wasn't a burden, and everything was within a 5-10 minute walk. That is why I was 100% satisfied with the Sokcho Mari Vista Hotel. I made the reservation through Trip.com. Thank you 👍 😆 #Yangyang #Sokcho #SokchoMarivista #SokchoHotel #SokchoMarivistaHotel

Authentic buckwheat noodles in Yangyang—a flavor crafted by time I believe travel is less about where you go and more about the memories you leave with. Let me introduce you to the best buckwheat noodle spot I experienced in Yangyang. On the way back from taking in the Yangyang ocean, I made a deliberate detour to this one spot. The 60-year-old traditional Siloam Buckwheat Noodles. 🌊 Beyond the sea, a historic name waiting at the end of the alley Just a few minutes' drive from Mulchi Port. Slightly tucked away from the flashy tourist traps. Nestled in a quiet village, this place might look ordinary on the outside, but the moment you walk in, you unlock a whole new world of flavor. There's a reason this place has stood the test of time. It's an authentic makguksu (buckwheat noodle) joint boasting a legacy of over 60 years. It's a true buckwheat noodle landmark, famous for being a favorite of the late Hyundai Motor Chairman Chung Ju-yung. 🍜 Dongchimi Buckwheat Noodles VS Spicy Mixed Noodles Their signature dish is the Dongchimi (Radish Water Kimchi) Buckwheat Noodles! The moment you take a sip of the broth 😱 Your brain reacts before your mouth even does lol. It hits you like an electric shock! Wow… it is seriously ~~ so refreshing!!~~. Rather than an overpowering flavor, it boasts a remarkably clear and profound depth. The combination of homemade dongchimi and their freshly milled buckwheat noodles creates absolute perfection. If you're a fan of a bit of a kick, I highly recommend their spicy mixed noodles. 🥩 The Ultimate Sidekick You Must Order The meal doesn't end there. The true Siloam experience is only complete when paired with a slice of meat. ✔️ Boiled Pork Slices (Bossam) ✔️ Paired with White Kimchi and Aged Kimchi Tender pork + icy-cold noodles... this combo is practically cheating. In fact, this place is just as famous for its mouthwatering bossam. If you're planning a trip to Yangyang, I cannot recommend this place enough!

At 5:30 AM, while darkness still held the sea captive, Captain Mek quietly set off with his two sons. The cold air, the gentle sound of waves, and the anticipation of the day about to begin. Here... we have come to see the sunrise in Yangyang, Gangwon-do. 🌅 The most beautiful moment when the day begins The dawn in Yangyang is special. A time when nothing has begun yet, yet the air is just before everything starts. At the center of it all is Yangyang Beach. Yangyang Namaeri Beach, a paradise for those enjoying scuba diving and surfing while gazing at the horizon. 🌊 The light rising over the sea Little by little, very little by little The color of the sky begins to change. From deep indigo to violet, and to warm orange. And finally, the sun pokes its face above the horizon. At that moment, it feels as though everything around has stopped. It feels as though even the sound of the waves is silently watching that scene. 🙏 A time to make wishes People watching the sunrise. Some clasp their hands together, and others quietly close their eyes. Hoping for a slightly better year… I quietly hold this small wish in my heart. The sunrise in Yangyang is a ‘time to clear your mind and wish for the future.’ It is recommended to arrive 30 minutes before sunrise (watching the changing colors of the sky is a must). Prepare warm clothes, as the dawn breeze is quite chilly. Bringing a hand warmer would be helpful... The moment I actually watched the sunrise at Namaeri Beach in Yangyang was a truly unforgettable and precious memory, far more so than just seeing photos. I am leaving Yangyang with wonderful memories made with my two sons. I love you ❤️ Yangyang #Yangyang

Meta Beach in Yangyang was the final stop of my summer vacation 🏖. Although most beaches were closed for the season, the weather was so hot that there were still quite a few people enjoying the beach. The relaxing vibes of this place made it the perfect way to wrap up my vacation! I was so happy, truly 💙. Next time you visit Yangyang, why not try Meta Beach instead of Surfyy Beach? 🥹 📍Meta Beach 3266 Donghae-daero, Ganghyeon-myeon, Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do

#EmotionalAccommodation #SokchoAccommodation #YangyangAccommodation #SokchoJacuzzi I stayed at Dundnaru Stay during my trip to Yangyang. It's located in a quiet village, so it's perfect for a quiet getaway! ✔️The bedroom was clean and cozy, and the private jacuzzi was especially nice. After a long day, I came back and soaked in it, completely relieving all my fatigue. 🛁✨ ✔️The night view of the stars was truly healing. ✔️It was also very convenient. Parking was right in front of the house, so I didn't have to worry about anything. The ocean and convenience store were just a 5-minute walk away, so I could quickly get to anything I needed. Just keep in mind that there's no ocean view from the property. 🌊🚶♀️ If you're looking for a sentimental place to stay in Yangyang, I highly recommend Dundnaru Stay.💙
