In May, come to Dingxi for a date with the "Wizard of Oz"!
With the beginning of summer, spring is not yet over, and May is the most beautiful time of the year. At this time, why not come to Dingxi's niche "Wizard of Oz" for a romantic early summer date!
Zheyang Mountain – A Primitive Secret Realm Hidden in the Mountains
Zheyang Mountain is between 2,200m and 2,800m above sea level and is named because "the sun is blocked by the mountain at sunrise." It integrates valleys, forests, secluded pools, and waterfalls, and is dominated by karst landform landscapes, with canyon, Danxia, and karst landform landscapes. The park is rich in layered profile relics, structural relics, and fossil relics, and is known by experts as a rare sinkhole-type tourism and adventure resort in Northwest China.
Stepping into the stream, you will feel cool instantly. The natural breeze and spring water make people feel cool from the inside out. Walking along the two tourist routes of East Creek and West Creek, you seem to be in a flowing landscape painting. You may encounter mysterious karst caves at the corner, and you may see magnificent Danxia cliffs when you look up.
Zheyang Mountain not only has beautiful natural scenery, but also contains profound cultural heritage. The ancient inscriptions on the mountain complement the natural landscape, adding a lot of mystery and long-standing cultural atmosphere to this landscape.
Guiqing Mountain – The "Little Mount Hua" in Central Gansu
Guiqing Mountain, historically known as "Guiqing Wonderland," is composed of two scenic spots: Guiqing Mountain and Guiqing Gorge. It is a national 4A-level tourist attraction and a national forest park, and is known as "Little Mount Hua." The Broken Stream Immortal Bridge in the scenic area flies over the deep gorge between the two mountains, like a long rainbow lying on the waves, thrilling and spectacular. Standing on the bridge and looking down at the deep gorge, you will feel your heart beating faster, and you will also be impressed by the wisdom of the ancients.
Guiqing Gorge is 8 km long from north to south and only 60m wide from east to west. The peaks on both sides are lined with strange rocks. The stream at the bottom of the valley is gurgling and crystal clear. The stream shuttles between the moss-covered stones, playing a melodious movement. The wildflowers on the banks of the stream are blooming wantonly and are colorful, adding a bright color to the canyon.
Climbing to the top of the mountain, the view is suddenly clear. Looking far away, the rolling mountains are looming in the sea of clouds, just like a magnificent ink painting. The Zen forest on the top of the mountain is a major feature of Guiqing Mountain. The ancient trees are tall and thick, straight into the sky, covering the sky and the sun. The sunlight shines through the gaps in the leaves, forming golden beams of light, adding a bit of mystery to this mountain forest.
Shouyang Mountain – A Place Where History and Nature Blend
Shouyang Mountain is located 34 km southeast of Weiyuan County, echoing Lianfeng Mountain from afar. At the end of the Shang Dynasty and the beginning of the Zhou Dynasty, Bo Yi and Shu Qi, the second princes of the Guzhu Kingdom, gave way to each other for the throne. They were ashamed to eat Zhou millet and lived in seclusion here until they starved to death. Their noble character made Shouyang Mountain famous. At the foot of the main peak, the tombs of Bo Yi and Shu Qi lie quietly, with tombstones inscribed with "Teachers of a Hundred Generations" and "Tomb of Bo Yi and Shu Qi, Hermits of the Shang Dynasty" by Zuo Zongtang, the Governor of Shaanxi and Gansu of the Qing Dynasty, exuding a solemn atmosphere under the shade of green pines and cypresses.
Here, the altitude is between 2,186m and 2,509m. The mountains are majestic and towering, and the mountains and forests are lush. Walking along the winding path, you are surrounded by dense forests, with interlaced branches and leaves. The sunlight shines through the gaps, forming golden spots, like a dreamlike stage. The air in the mountains is as fresh as if it has been washed, with a faint fragrance of flowers and plants. Every breath is like a thorough SPA for the lungs.
Nanping Mountain – Forest Oxygen Bar and Peony Feast
Nanping Mountain is the barrier in the south of Lintao. It is named because the mountain is as high as a barrier. The average altitude is 2,800m. It is the real scene of "Snow on Nan Mountain," one of the famous "Tao Yang Eight Scenic Spots." Here, the forest coverage rate is high, and the mountains stretch to the end of the field of vision. The content of negative oxygen ions is high. It is a veritable forest oxygen bar. Walking in it is like being in a natural green oxygen bar, and the body and mind can be greatly relaxed.
In May, the peonies in Nanping Mountain have quietly bloomed, with a variety of colors and a full garden of national beauty. The red ones are like fire, the pink ones are like rosy clouds, and the white ones are like snow. One by one, cluster after cluster, they are vying for beauty and are dazzling. Being in the peony bushes is like walking into a dreamlike world, making people intoxicated and reluctant to leave.
This early summer, let's wander in the mountains and rivers together! Come to Dingxi and start your dream trip!
