The owner barely said two words but kept checking if we needed anything. That Sfakian pie though — still warm, honey dripping everywhere. Greek salad was proper too, feta thick and creamy. Place feels like someone's actual home, not a tourist spot. Just wish they had more seating outside.

The rooster in tomato sauce was spot on—slow-cooked, rich, exactly what I wanted with a glass of red wine. Place feels genuinely local, not touristy. Maybe slightly quiet for a Saturday, but that worked fine for us.

Stopped by for a quick bite around noon. Got the grilled chicken plate — came out fast, still hot. Portion was solid for what you pay. Staff didn't hover, just checked if I needed anything else. Fine spot if you're in a hurry and want something decent.

Stopped here for lunch after a walk along the harbor. The view of the water is really nice, you can see the boats from the table. I had the grilled fish and it was fresh, simple, not overdressed. Just the way I like it. Service was friendly, no rush. A bit pricey for the portion, but the quality was there.

The beetroot salad alone is worth coming back for. Went twice just for that dish. Garden cats are a bonus but honestly I barely noticed them.

The stuffed cabbage leaves in lemon sauce were the highlight. Homemade baklava was solid too, maybe the best I've had. Owner explained the menu well, but honestly the food did the talking.

The lamb chops were really good, cooked just right. Portions are generous for the price, which I always appreciate. They even brought out some complimentary wine and watermelon at the end, a nice little touch. Service was friendly, nothing too fussy. Just a solid, comfortable meal without any hassle.

Decent spot for a relaxed dinner. The veal and shrimp were pretty good, moussaka was fine. Service was attentive without hovering. Kids got smaller portions without any fuss.

The lamb chops here are the real deal. Juicy, decent amount of seasoning, cooked properly. That's pretty much all I care about. They brought out some raki at the end, which was fine, but honestly I was still thinking about the meat. Place seems family-run, but I wasn't paying much attention to that. Just order the chops and you're good.

Stopped here because it was right in the middle of Rethymno and easy to find. Grabbed a gyros and some souvlaki—both were really solid. Nothing fancy, just a simple street-side setup, but honestly that's part of the charm. The seating is pretty basic though, so don't expect to linger too long. Fine for a quick bite.

We grabbed a table by the window, the sea view was really nice. I had the grilled fish and a big Greek salad. The tomatoes and cucumbers tasted like they were picked that morning, super fresh. The owner was checking on tables the whole time, which I appreciated. Just wish the bread was a bit warmer, but the freshness of the veggies made up for it.

The view over the lake is killer, but honestly the food holds its own. Had the moussaka, really well seasoned. Staff were nice too.

We've been coming here for years. The owners remember us every time, which is nice. Food's decent, nothing fancy, but the warmth keeps us coming back.

The dip trio really stood out — beautifully presented and full of flavor. The place itself is gorgeous too. Service from Eva, Alex, and George was spot on.

The grilled shrimp and spinach pasta were solid, and the portions felt right for what you pay. Menu’s got enough variety to keep it interesting. Fair deal overall.

Giorgos the owner came over to our table himself, which was a nice touch. The food was solid, traditional stuff, and the bill didn’t hurt. Place has that simple, no-fuss vibe that fits the neighborhood. Only thing—chairs are a bit hard after an hour. But for the price, I’m not complaining.

Big portions, fresh stuff. Got the grilled octopus, pretty solid. Free dessert with raki at the end, nice touch. Price was fair for what you get. Place gets busy, but worth it.

The fava was the standout—so creamy and full of flavor. Had to wait a bit without a reservation, but the daily special made up for it. Heads up: bread isn't free.

The meze mix was huge for what we paid, honestly fair for the portions. Stuffed zucchini flowers were solid too. Just don't come if you're bothered by cats walking around.

Stopped by for a late lunch after the beach. Got the veggie plate and honestly the portion was bigger than I expected for the price. Could easily share if you're not starving. Dessert was good too, though I wish they had more than two options. Nice spot if you're in the area and want something filling without breaking the bank.

Stopped by a few times while in the area. Food was solid every single visit, no complaints there. The manager actually remembered us by the second time, which was a nice touch. Place has a good vibe too. Quick and easy, exactly what I needed for a lunch break.

The Village Sausages were solid—good flavor, decent fries, and the tzatziki worked well. View over the sea is nice, service friendly enough. Fair for what you pay.

Decent beach spot with a lovely view. Dorade was well cooked, salad tomatoes tasted fresh. Fair prices for what you get.

The outside looks plain but the food is really good. I loved the stuffed zucchini flowers. Book ahead though, it gets packed fast.

Came back twice while we were here. The pizza tasted properly homemade, not the usual tourist stuff. Staff let us take our time too.

Came for the Greek coffee and honestly it was the best part. Strong, thick, exactly how it should be. Right on the beach so you get that nice breeze while you sip. Staff were chill, not rushing me at all. Just wish the cup was a bit bigger 😅

Tucked in but easy to miss. The lamb was solid and the house red paired nicely with it. Tables spaced out enough that the kids weren't bothering anyone. Service friendly, though we waited a bit for the bill.

The sunset from the terrace was honestly the main reason I stayed for a second drink. Water right there, sky turning all pink and orange. Host greeted me with a genuine smile, not the fake corporate kind. Food was decent, nothing mind-blowing, but that view does a lot of heavy lifting. Would come back just for that golden hour.

Nice spot tucked off the main road, close enough to the beach. Food was solid and fairly priced. Service stayed friendly even when it got busy. No complaints.

Stopped by for lunch after reading about it. The fava was really good, creamy and full of flavor. Stuffed vine leaves were solid too, not like the usual ones you get everywhere. Sitting outside under the trees was nice, staff knew what they were doing. A bit different from the standard taverna menu around Chania, which is refreshing.
