The fish and chips were the highlight for me. The batter was light and crispy, and the fish inside was so fresh and flaky. It felt like a proper, well-made meal. The portion was generous, too. A really good, classic pub dish done right.

Decent local pub. Went for the quiz night, the host was pretty funny. Staff behind the bar were quick and friendly. Had a good laugh with the team.

Stephen was brilliant, really attentive without hovering. Drinks arrived just as we finished the last sip, plates cleared at the right moment. That kind of seamless service is hard to find. Made the whole evening feel relaxed.

Been staying here for years. The rooms are always spotlessly clean, and I love the decor. The bed's super comfy, and the shower is reliably hot with great pressure. It's just a consistently nice place to stay.

We booked the loft space for a quiet dinner. The staff were really lovely and attentive, which made the whole evening feel so relaxed. A very comfortable spot to unwind.

The treacle-cured T-bone was spot-on. What really made it for me was the Guinness sauce they suggested – that rich, malty note was a perfect foil for the sweet cure. A really smart pairing.

Absolutely excellent food, service, and atmosphere, this was my first visit and was highly recommended to me and didn’t fail to impress, I will definitely be a return customer.

The new owners have made a real difference. The place feels cleaner and more welcoming now. I popped in last Thursday and they had a great live jazz night – their house red was a surprisingly good match for the charcuterie board. A solid spot for a relaxed evening.

Just tried their new courtyard for lunch. It's such a nice little spot, really peaceful. The food was solid, especially for the area. Honestly expected it to be pricier.

Nice spot for the office Christmas do. The interactive darts was a big hit with everyone. Staff were sound, Lisa especially. Good vibes for a group.

Organised a business lunch here. The team handled everything from planning to execution smoothly. Staff were efficient, kept things moving, and our guests were well looked after. A very professional operation.

Cosy spot with the fireplaces, perfect for a cold day. Had the fish and chips, portion was decent for the price. Could have been a bit hotter though.

The owner was so lovely and helpful when we were picking a wine. She really knows her stuff and made us feel so at ease. We ended up with a fantastic bottle that was just right. A really nice, comfortable spot.

Loved the cauliflower bites at our group event. The garden room was so peaceful.

Been coming here for years now. It’s that classic, no-fuss pub feel that keeps me coming back – always warm and relaxed. Just a solid local spot.

Came with a big group, and the staff handled it well. Prices were fair, which was nice. The food was solid, nothing fancy but cooked right. Good spot for a casual get-together.

Booked the upstairs for a birthday do. The owner was really helpful sorting the space for us. Cocktails were spot on, and the room looked lovely. Made for a nice evening.

Great spot for live music. The vibe is just right, not too loud. They have a good selection of craft ales, which was a nice surprise. A solid choice for a relaxed evening out.

A solid, no-frills pub. The fish and chips were exactly what you'd expect - crispy batter, decent portion. Plenty of parking right outside, which is a major plus. Service was quick, got my order in and out efficiently. Exactly what I needed after a long day.

The garden is so pretty now! 🍃 Perfect for catching up with friends over a glass of wine. The new owners have really made it feel cosy and inviting. We stayed for ages just chatting.

The cask ales here are a decent selection and kept nicely. I had the Coldharbour Lager and it was pretty good, crisp and refreshing. A solid spot for a pint.

As someone hard of hearing, I really appreciated the noise level here. Could actually have a conversation. The lamb's liver and lemon sponge were spot on.

Nice spot for a pint, and they let you bring the dog. The cellar's got some interesting history about Queen Emma.

The veggie burger here is a solid choice. It's a proper, substantial patty, not just a mushy veggie puck. The portion felt generous for the price. A nice spot if you're dining with someone who doesn't eat meat.

The fish and chips on a Friday. The batter was light and crisp, the chips were proper chunky. The fish itself was fresh, flaky. A solid portion for the price. That's what I go for.
