The staff were so nice with our little ones. They brought out crayons and even these cute little forks for them. Made it way less stressful for us!

Came for the pistachio gelato. The texture was just right, not too icy. But honestly, for the price they're charging, the portion in the cup felt a bit small. I've had bigger scoops elsewhere for less.

Always a reliable choice. The staff are so friendly and attentive, even on a busy Saturday evening. They really make you feel looked after without being rushed. The booth seating is quite comfortable too.

Been coming here for years. The dark chocolate gelato is the real deal, super rich and intense. Passion fruit one tastes just like the fruit. A solid spot for a proper treat.

Portions were just right, not too heavy. The shepherd's pie was really satisfying, had it for a late lunch. The lasagna was good too, solid spot for a casual bite.

The fish and chips here are solid. The batter is crisp, not greasy, and the chips are proper thick-cut. The mushy peas on the side are a nice touch. It's a good, straightforward plate of pub grub.

The fish and chips were spot on! Honestly some of the best I've had. The vibe was just right for catching up with friends, not too loud so we could actually hear each other. The chips were perfectly crispy. A solid choice for a casual night out.

A decent little bakery with a nice pastry selection. I tried the pistachio and the cherry almond croissants - both were pretty good. The coffee was fine. It can get a bit crowded on weekend mornings, though.

The tasting menu was a real journey. Loved how each course was explained, and the wine pairings were spot on. Perfect for a long, chatty dinner with friends. The pace was just right, never felt rushed.

Love the quirky old building, feels like a cosy hideaway. Had the roast beef and pork dinners, portions were just right. Dessert was a bit smaller than the menu made it seem, but still tasty. A nice spot for a relaxed catch-up with friends.

Been coming here for years. The owner always remembers my usual order. It's just a simple, quiet spot to grab a coffee and sit for a bit. Nothing fancy, but that's the point.

Popped in for a quick lunch. The green salad was the highlight for me – the lettuce and cherry tomatoes tasted so fresh and crisp. Just what I needed. The staff were very friendly, as always. A reliable spot for a simple, healthy bite.

Stopped by for a snack and they had challah bread. Haven't seen that anywhere else in York. It was really good, fresh and soft. Just what I needed with a coffee.

Been coming here for years, and the bottomless brunch is always solid. The fresh, warm bread they bring out first is the best part.

Cosy spot, dog-friendly which is nice. The food's always fresh and comes out quick. But that spiral staircase down to the lower seating? A bit steep for my liking, had to be careful going down. Good for a casual bite though.

Love the cosy booths here, gives you a bit of privacy. The decor is spotless and feels very traditional. Staff are professional, but the service felt a little slow on a weekday afternoon. Still, a nice spot for a quiet coffee.

A local tipped me off about this pub. Staff were really friendly. The outdoor area looks like it’ll be great in summer.

First time here, the flatbreads and calamari were spot on. The owner even made some garlic mayo for us on request, really nice touch.

They had dog treats ready for our pup, which was a nice touch. Makes it easy to stop by with the furry one.

The Madri at £3.25 during happy hour is the main draw. It's a decent pint for the price, cold and poured well. The snooker tables are a nice bonus, but honestly, I'm just here for the beer.

Been ordering from here for years. The lamb biryani is consistently good, and they deliver on time. A solid option when you need a reliable takeaway.
