Been here a few times now. Service is consistently slow, even just for a drink. Shame, because the beachfront spot is hard to beat. Drinks are decent once they actually arrive. Fine for a lazy afternoon if you&#39;re not in a hurry.

Tried the set menu last week. The special was the standout&mdash;nice to see something different mixed in with the classics. Portions are decent, not huge, but fair for the price. Service was fine, kept it simple. Place was a bit busy but that&#39;s a good sign. I&#39;d go back if I&#39;m in the area again.

Came for the seafood. The cod was fresh, cooked just right. Prices fair for the location, about 30 euros with a drink. Group of eight, everyone cleaned their plates. That&#39;s all I need.

The two-person menu was a decent deal&mdash;food came out fresh and tasted good. Our waiter spoke fluent English and helped us figure out what to order. Nice touch with the ambient music, even if it wasn&#39;t Asian. Pretty solid spot overall for a casual meal.

The mussels were spot on&mdash;fresh, sweet, and cooked just right. Hand-cut chips on the side. Owner took a minute to walk me through the menu, which was a nice touch. Solid pick if you&#39;re stuck in Bruges rain.

The vaulted cellar is very atmospheric, but the restaurant was very quiet the night we eat there. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. The service was a little slow, since one person seemed to be doing everything.

Aqua Marine is a sweet restaurant - great staff and delicious food.  The fish is so fresh and prepared in a great variety of ways.  This is a great romantic place with a warm atmosphere.

The chef&rsquo;s wife runs the front of house and she&rsquo;s on top of everything. Osso buco was tender, fell right off the bone. Wine list is solid too, not overpriced. Place was busy but she still found time to check in on us. Only thing&mdash;we waited a bit for the bill, but honestly didn&rsquo;t mind.

The martino sandwich really hit the spot. Meat was tender, bread held up well, sauce had a nice kick. Place was pretty busy for a Tuesday afternoon but I got my food quick enough. Not the cheapest lunch spot around but you get what you pay for. I&#39;ll probably stop by again when I&#39;m in the area.

Buffet had decent variety, pizza was solid. But plates ran out fast and staff couldn&#39;t keep up. Maybe better on a quieter day.

The shrimp croquettes were the highlight for me&mdash;crispy outside, really creamy inside. Fries were solid too, exactly what you want after walking around Nieuwpoort-Stad. Ordering with the beeper thing felt a bit impersonal but it kept things moving fast. Wouldn&#39;t mind going back just for those croquettes again.

Went for the 9-course dinner. Pacing was spot on&mdash;never felt rushed or waiting too long between plates. Staff let us breathe between courses, which I appreciated. Solid choice if you&#39;ve got time to just sit back and enjoy the evening. Nothing fancy, just a well-run kitchen.

Stopped by for a drink on the terrace&mdash;nice vibe, staff were friendly enough. Beer came fast, but the glass smelled a bit off, like it wasn&rsquo;t rinsed properly. That kind of put me off. Had a toastie too, simple but fine. Nothing special, but okay for a quick stop.

Only one waiter so quite stretched. Waiter from Pakistan and seemed to be learning on the job - at university outside of Ghent doing business management. Chef from Nepal - very good Pad Thai and tasty Penang chicken curry.
