The coffee at Porto's is top-notch, and the variety of food options is impressive. It's a great place to enjoy a meal or a sweet treat, and the staff is always quick and friendly.

I am on a holiday visit with my daughter and her family in Pasadena. I took them out to a lunch at the Porto's in Glendale. Food was excellent but after giving our party order we were delivered all items except mine. After going up to cashier counter I was told to go sit down it would be out shortly. I sat down and watched my party finish their lunch and I went back to cashier area and the same unfriendly told me to return to my seat. Finally while she was rudely telling me to sit the man behind her found my order was lost and would reorder. then rude mouth ordered me to tell her where I was sitting. I told her the same place for the past 45 mins-- waiting for her to become competent. I had my jacket "Combat Veteran of Korean War" and she looked at it like I was a major pain and proceeded to charge me for the $7.00 sandwich and I returned to my party that long had finished their lunch and dessert. What a way to ruin what should have been a pleasant lunch out The employee was a disgrace. From fame to shame.

First time trying their banana split. The Ghirardelli chocolate fudge is so rich but not too sweet.

Alex was a huge help when I was picking my meal. He really walked me through the flavors and his suggestions were spot on.

The Reuben is my go-to here. They don't skimp on the corned beef, and the rye stays sturdy, which I appreciate. It's a reliable classic.

Love that you can customize the sugar and ice in the drinks! Perfect for when everyone in the group has a different sweet tooth.

The almond croissant was flaky and tender, but at $5.50, it felt a bit steep for the size. It was delicious, just wish the portion was bigger for the price. They did wrap up the half I couldn't finish, which was nice.

The breakfast here is pretty good. Solid, no-frills plates and the portions are definitely generous for the price. It’s a decent spot when you just want a simple, filling meal.

The goat cheese and tomato jam danish here is something else. Had to order a second one right away. The place itself has this quiet, old-school feel with soft music playing. Just a really nice spot to slow down for a bit.

The European-style cakes here are the real deal. Grabbed a slice of the Sachertorte and it was spot on - dense, rich chocolate with that thin layer of apricot jam. Been coming for years and the quality never dips. It's mostly takeout, which is fine by me.

The ice cream is solid, but the price is a bit steep. I got a scoop of the pistachio and it had a nice, real nutty flavor. The texture was creamy, not icy. Just wish you got a bit more for what they charge.

The staff handled our big group really well, no rushing us at all. They were patient with all our questions and kept things moving smoothly. A nice change from the usual hurry.

The donut muffin. That's what you come for. The outside has this crisp, sugary shell that shatters, then it's all soft, warm dough inside. The cinnamon sugar coating is just right, not too sweet. Yeah, you'll wait in line, but it's worth it for that first bite.

Came for brunch. The French onion soup was rich, really hit the spot on a chilly day. Eggs Benedict were good too, the hollandaise was on point. Solid spot.

Solid ice cream spot. The strawberry flavor is a standout, tastes fresh. Good for a quick dessert after work. Prices are reasonable for the quality.

As a celiac, it's a relief to have a 100% gluten-free kitchen. Their house-baked bread makes the sandwiches really solid.

Been coming here for decades. The "skronut" is a must, that flaky texture is something else. Pair it with a strong black coffee and you've got a perfect morning. Staff's always friendly, even when the line's out the door. A real neighborhood gem.

Quick lunch spot for me. Staff is always friendly and patient. They even offered a sample when I couldn't decide. Makes the whole process smooth. Good for a fast, no-hassle bite.

Service was really patient even though we came in right before closing. The Ferrari flavor with Nutella and brownie bits was a solid pick.

The chocolate croissant was incredible, flaky and rich. The almond biscotti too. You can just tell everything is baked fresh that morning. That's the main thing for me.

Been coming here for years. Their tres leches cake is always spot on—never too sweet, never dry. It's the one thing I can count on every single time.
