Loach is the specialty, and the fresh spring sprouts are very recognizable, fragrant but not spicy. By the way, I ordered some Emei eel shreds, and the bones were fried in a dish, which was crisper than potato chips. At my strong request, I added my hometown dish, fried egg and fried loofah, and everyone rushed to eat it. The bath kimchi tasted excellent, and even the young ginger was crispy and tender. This restaurant is worth recommending.

We stopped at Qingli Shredded Eel (a must-try for spicy food lovers!) for a hearty meal. The tender and spicy shredded eel instantly awakened our taste buds.

🏨Hongzhushan Hotel: A hidden paradise where great men have stayed
We arrived at the hotel at 4:00 PM, where Manager Tang from the front office was already waiting. This state guesthouse, built in 1935, was once a summer retreat for figures like Chiang Kai-shek, Deng Xiaoping, and Guo Moruo. The hotel boasts forest and lake views. I took my parents on a stroll through the woods amidst the chirping of cicadas and birds. We checked in at Qifuding (the legendary place where Zhao Gongming practiced Taoism) and received free prayer plaques for the whole family. The hotel also provided thoughtful services: direct Wi-Fi in the guest rooms (strong signal throughout the building), unlimited mineral water (dozens of bottles were placed on a large table in the hallway, a guess many hikers bring water and wake up early, so they&#39;re prepared). Maps and guides were readily available!

🌙Emei Night Talk

In the evening, we enjoyed authentic Sichuan cuisine in the hotel restaurant. My parents raved about the fish with fermented black bean paste. Afterward, we strolled along the lakeside, watching the sun set over the Emei Mountains. After enjoying the complimentary breakfast at 7:00 AM (just tell Manager Tang your room number), Manager Tang kindly handed us an oxygen tank and reminded us, &quot;Pick up the front row on the bus to prevent motion sickness!&quot; We drove 1 km from the hotel to the Emeishan Visitor Center, then transferred to a sightseeing bus for the 68 km journey to Leidongping (a two-hour drive).

🐒 Monkey Zone Fun
Get off the bus and walk 1.8 kilometers to the Jieying Hall. This stretch of road is home to wild monkeys! Remember Manager Tang&#39;s secret: Keep phones away from monkeys, and avoid hiding food in bags or transparent bags! We encountered a few monkeys blocking the road, but my dad, trying to tease them with peanuts, was robbed instead, leaving the whole family in a state of laughter.

🚠Cloud Summit Cableway
From the Jieying Hall, transfer to the reciprocating cableway (which seats dozens and is as stable as flat ground, with no bumps), reaching the Golden Summit in 6 minutes. Suddenly, the clouds dissipated, and the sky cleared like a divine light, revealing the four-sided golden statue of Samantabhadra. My parents exclaimed, &quot;Amazing!&quot; Because my granddaughter&#39;s birthday is a dragon, I bought a highly popular blind box of Buddhist offerings (double: Samantabhadra and the Dragon Guardian Deity for a double buff). My mother muttered, &quot;May my dear granddaughter be safe and wise!&quot;

⛰️Altitude Sickness and Tenderness
Hilariously, after supporting my father all the way up the mountain, the muscular man suffered a mild case of altitude sickness at the summit, fortunately saved by Manager Tang&#39;s oxygen tank. My parents, however, were in high spirits, helping tourists take family photos with the rolling sea of clouds and Buddha&#39;s halo in the background.

Return Trip: Takeaway shredded eel to bring home the fresh aroma of Mount Emei

We started our descent at 2:00 PM. The line for the cable car was long but moved quickly. We took the Leidongping sightseeing bus back at 3:30 PM and arrived at the hotel to pick up the car in 1.5 hours. Before returning to Jianyang, we made a special detour to Linjiang Town to takeaway shredded eel&mdash;for spicy food, choose Qingli, for lighter options, go to Xiangcun Xiang Eel Tang (the two restaurants are only a few dozen meters apart). To reward my wife, who was with the kids, we ordered both shredded eels and immediately devoured them!

1. For elderly parents traveling with their parents: Contact the Hongzhushan Hotel&#39;s butler service (e.g., Manager Tang) in advance to coordinate breakfast, itineraries, and emergency supplies.
